5 stars times a million!!!…read more I was visiting my dad's for his birthday. I visited back in August and I'm still thinking about it. Before my flight back to California I needed one final southern meal (no good southern cookin on the west coast.) I am so happy I chose this place. First the staff, 10/5 stars!!! We didn't realize they were closing soon (about 30 minutes from the time of arrival) and showed up. The staff not only didn't even mention it but generously accommodated us! When we realized, we apologized and they were so kind and understanding. Now the food. WOW! So grateful I listened to my gut because I saved the best for last. We ordered a spread of food. Catfish, yams, fried chicken, collard greens, cobbler, etc. Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Catfish was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Each bite almost made me cry tears of joy. Home cooked taste but from the friend/family member that can tear it up in the kitchen. You can taste the love, dedication and pride. The prices are worth it for the quality and quantity. The atmosphere was welcoming and chill. Definitely a good spot for a family dinner/lunch after church. Again staff were so warm and kind. Overall we had an amazing experience. If I lived closer it would absolutely be on my rotation. If you live nearby make it yours. You will not regret supporting this small business. I will be back as soon as I can!

The only Black-owned restaurant on Beale Street definitely did not disappoint for our first visit!…read more The Ladies of Carolina Double Dutch Therapy had an absolute blast as we attended the Annual Double Dutch Therapy Beale Street Takeover Event 4/30/26 - 5/3/26. What started as lunch quickly turned into karaoke -- LOL! The atmosphere was fun, welcoming, and full of good vibes. The food was so amazing that we had to personally meet the cook. Tyrone came out to our table, and let's just say that tip was WELL deserved! As we say in the Carolinas, "he put his foot in that food!" There were 13 of us, and despite our large group, the waitress never skipped a beat -- all while being the only server working during Friday lunch service. Her professionalism, attentiveness, and positive attitude truly stood out. The service, food, and ambiance made this an unforgettable experience, and these Carolinians will definitely be back! I couldn't attach the video of us singing; however, here we are! See you all next year ~DDT-LOC~

I sat at the bar even though I wasn't drinking because I was a party of 1. They have a smaller food menu at night but just enough to fill me up after the flight in. I came around 8:30 and it wasn't busy at all. The service was great and the music was great too! I did the catfish bites, Mac and cheese and corn bread. Omg all delicious. Hot, fresh and tasty. The catfish was fried to perfection (a little on the salty side though) and the Mac and cheese was sooo good.

The layout was thoughtfully designed, featuring three distinct food service lines that offered an impressive variety of selections to accommodate a wide range of preferences. The salad bar was fully stocked and meticulously maintained, showcasing an abundant assortment of fresh, crisp, and high-quality ingredients. Its cleanliness and presentation reflected the establishment's strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence. In addition, the restaurant featured a dedicated carving station that elevated the dining experience. Today's offerings included expertly prepared prime rib and roasted turkey, accompanied by all the traditional side items expected for a complete and satisfying meal. The quality, presentation, and overall organization of the service demonstrated a high standard of professionalism and hospitality. Equally impressive was the outstanding level of customer service provided by both the manager and staff members. Every employee was friendly, courteous, and genuinely welcoming, creating an atmosphere that made guests feel valued and appreciated. Warm smiles and attentive service were consistently present throughout the dining experience, contributing greatly to the restaurant's inviting environment. To further enhance the ambiance, soft background music played throughout the restaurant at an appropriate volume, adding to the pleasant atmosphere without becoming distracting or intrusive. The combination of excellent service, exceptional cleanliness, quality food selections, and a comfortable dining environment made this establishment truly stand out as an outstanding place to dine. My special thanks to Joe Cobb the singer. Sincerely, Dr John Lobato. DIT

The dessert was probably my favorite part lol, I got ice cream with crumbled cookies and a little chocolate & caramel drizzle on top. I also tried the steak but sadly mine was still raw in the middle when it came out, so that kinda turned me off. The food wasn't horrible but for $24.99 I personally expected a lil more options and better quality. The atmosphere was decent and the staff was nice enough though. I'm not saying I'd never come back cause I probably would give it another try on a different day. Maybe I just caught them at an off time idk
