Mold and grime in shower Room #5
Jillian D.

I have mixed feelings about this place. PROS- Good location, the sheets were clean, breakfast was basic but it was nice to have, nice outdoor seating CONS- the room we stayed in was very dated. It did not look like any of these photos (wish I had a photo). We were in #5. Not sure if we got a this room because we had a dog. There was no bedspread, the room smelled musty the whole time, furniture was beat up. Bathroom had mildew and grime on handles of sink and in shower. The TV also did not work even after owner came to fix it. Remote buttons were extremely slow to respond, but he said it was fine.

As far as motels go, this is one of the best that I have stayed in. We were here for a quick overnight in Williamstown to check out the foliage and go hiking. We found our rooms to be very clean, adequately spacious and well kept. Also, the owners were some of the nicest people that we met while in Williamstown. They genuinely cared about their guests and took very good care of us. The one thing that sets the Williamstown Motel apart from other motels that I have stayed in is the continental breakfast. Most continental breakfasts serve nothing more than a quick fix until we can find the local Dunkin' Donuts. The continental breakfast at the Williamstown Motel however was well stocked with plenty of quality bagels, coffee, cakes and fruit. You won't go hungry. The location is excellent. The motel is a quick drive to Williamstown center and also a quick drive to Greylock State Park for hiking and other outdoor activities. I would absolutely recommend the Williamstown Motel to friends and family.

Nice little place for an overnight stay, rooms clean but a tad small with dated furnishings. Would definitely stay here again.

The free channels TV doesn't connect well but it's there. There is WiFi too. There is a central bright light or at least in my room to make it inviting to read. I really like that. The switch was a bit tricky to find for it as I thought it would've been an outside light but it is a good thing I tried all the switches. It feels like which the slight juxtaposition of the light switch for the center of the room, they had read a prior review that said the room felt a bit too dark. While a typical motel and even hotels might not consider being accommodating to this aspect, this motel wants to stay at the top quality and rank wise and they really get it. Because of the area they are in and the competition with Maple Terrace, they want to stay competitive but they really seem to enjoy managing a motel here too. The staffer was telling me how this motel is #1 in the area and bragged about the breakfast. Maple Terrace seems very comparable with here but I get the sense they offer more food here. Seems like you can't go wrong by with either is my impression. If you've never been here before, you should start here for the fresh fruit offered if nothing else. The pool here is out of commission at the time of this review. I don't know where it is and I asked. I think the guy was trying to tell me it was being cleaned or needed a lot of work. This continental breakfast is one of the best in the area. I definitely ended on this place because it is still reasonably priced by today's standards and you get a lot for your money. You can tell a lot of care was put into everything and you aren't just another number. I wanted to take one of every fruit because it would guarantee I would eat healthy for a bit more but so felt embarrassed even though I probably could. The night before, they let me have two bottles of water and a sugar free apple juice and then gave me two more water bottles. With the weather and traveling, I would not turn down free water.

If I believed any place I was reviewing was terrible I would never say it was awesome, so just because I know the innkeeper doesn't mean I'm sugarcoating my experience. I wanted to share that I think the Blackinton Manor is a lovely place to stay in the Berkshires. The hostess really cares about her guests' full experience. She strives to use locally sourced products whenever she can. She wants everyone to feel like they are comfortable and at home in her home, and I definitely felt comfortable here. And she makes yummy and hearty breakfasts. If you're lucky enough to be served the sticky buns, you're in for a real treat. Stay here. You won't regret it. Things to note: She does have a dog, who while friendly and gentle, is still a dog and will be at the Manor while you're there. So if you're not a dog person, this might not be the place for you. Also, if you have food allergies or restrictions, be sure to disclose them. She'll ask when you arrive but it's nice to let her know in advance so she can prepare for your stay and make your meal as yummy and accommodating as possible.

Lesa welcomed us when we arrived after dinner and made us feel at home with homemade baked goods and wine. Our rooms were lovely, and although the manor is two hundred years old, it has all the amenities one would expect in modern accommodations. The beds are extremely comfortable as well. Breakfast was a treat, a feast of local yogurt, homemade scones, tea cake, frittata, fruit, and ham. Lesa is the perfect host--warm, welcoming, accommodating, talented in the kitchen, and genuinely concerned with providing her guests with a wonderful getaway. Staying in her lovely home feels like visiting a friend. We will return whenever we are in the area. The Blackinton is a gem!!

The grounds were beautiful, awesome hanging bridge, heated outdoor pool, outdoor decks, trails, fire pits, and individual decks and chairs outside each room. The lodge common space was so warm and open. The staff from the front end to grounds to servers were excellent. Now for the wedding rehearsal and wedding the staff did an outstanding job? ! Erete( hope I'm close) and Craig( that too?) food service coordinator and wedding planner were great! Everything from rehearsal to wedding was well planned and executed! The displays, tables and presentation were beautiful. Now the food! Excellent!!!! The rehearsal kabobs, salad, sauces, pita, hummus , corn. All amazing! Wedding dinner again amazing! The short ribs, chicken, sides, desserts! We left reception before late night food came out but we heard again great job and we missed out however I'm not sure we could eat another bite! Morning breakfast the muffins and pastry was warm and also excellent! Thank you for making our experience memorable! We would highly recommend to anyone looking to have a wedding, celebration event at Tourists.
