I have mixed feelings about this place. PROS- Good location, the sheets were clean, breakfast was basic but it was nice to have, nice outdoor seating CONS- the room we stayed in was very dated. It did not look like any of these photos (wish I had a photo). We were in #5. Not sure if we got a this room because we had a dog. There was no bedspread, the room smelled musty the whole time, furniture was beat up. Bathroom had mildew and grime on handles of sink and in shower. The TV also did not work even after owner came to fix it. Remote buttons were extremely slow to respond, but he said it was fine. read more

I think these ratings really depend on one's expectations. If you've been hiking the AT, then this might be a great spot for a hot shower and roof over one's head. For us, we were looking for a comfortable place to stay while visiting relatives in the area, and it just didn't work for us. Although it was a good location, for the price ($249 for 2 nights) it was a disappointment. The mattress was not very comfortable, the room (#8) was very shabby and tiny, no one mentioned that there was no daily housekeeping, there was a LOT of road noise, and the TV had very limited channels (no network stations, and only 5 odd selections). Finally, I couldn't recover from the refrigerator containing someone's rotten leftovers -- made the whole stay seem "icky". read more

Standard no-frills relatively clean motel, hiding behind Covid excuse to cut out breakfast included in the rate even after everyone has been vaccinated and all restrictions in Mass. have been lifted (summer '21) - of course it's easier to just not get up in the morning and set out breakfast for guests. The hosts are eager to please and call you by phone in advance of your arrival. Some debris under furniture in the room, but otherwise clean. Mattresses are not particularly comfortable. $25/day extra for a dog. Some photos from the grounds are old/misleading: the tree next to the patio with chairs and tables has been cut down and nothing new planted, and there are no umbrellas, so when it's sunny and hot the patio/courtyard is unusable - a wasted opportunity. read more

As far as motels go, this is one of the best that I have stayed in. We were here for a quick overnight in Williamstown to check out the foliage and go hiking. We found our rooms to be very clean, adequately spacious and well kept. Also, the owners were some of the nicest people that we met while in Williamstown. They genuinely cared about their guests and took very good care of us. The one thing that sets the Williamstown Motel apart from other motels that I have stayed in is the continental breakfast. Most continental breakfasts serve nothing more than a quick fix until we can find the local Dunkin' Donuts. The continental breakfast at the Williamstown Motel however was well stocked with plenty of quality bagels, coffee, cakes and fruit. You won't go hungry. The location is excellent. The motel is a quick drive to Williamstown center and also a quick drive to Greylock State Park for hiking and other outdoor activities. I would absolutely recommend the Williamstown Motel to friends and family. read more

My family and I went to the , Easter Brunch this year. I'm writing this review late due to a death in my family. The food was AWFUL!! Everything was cold and old. I even asked the staff taking the reservation if my time which was 1:00 was too late for the brunch. I was assured no!!! We he was wrong. It cost 260.00; cold, old, dried up food. You would also think such a place would have real maple syrup. Nope cheap sugary stuff. I will never go there again. My Easter dinner was ruined. It was the first time we ate out on a holiday and trusted that, The Williams Inn would have high standards. I would have had a better meal at the Country Buffet!!! When service is awesome, it feels like not much else matters to be honest! Max is the best. (Masood). He really knows what he is doing. Runs a tight ship, but is fun to talk to and really just all around awesome guy. Clearly he takes pride in the place. The breakfast was included and lots of options. Bagels, sticky buns, coffee, tea, juice, yogurt... so many things - not like super high end stuff, just lots of options. Fruit and take away stuff. It's cozy. The rooms are dated, could use a new comforter. Built in air conditioning units. Shower curtains were leopard, which made me laugh a bit. Free wifi. Felt safe. Clean. Easy parking. My family booked three rooms here because the price was great. We wouldn't be spending much time, so just needed a clean room with some beds. I always get nervous when booking based off of price alone, but things worked out really well. The guy at the front desk (owner I think) was incredibly friendly checking in. The room seemed clean and on a very cold night was quite warm when we got in the door. The room had two large beds with plenty of space for our stuff. Some pieces of furniture (like the TV) were new, others seemed retro, and some just dated - especially in the bathroom - but everything was functional, so no real complaints here. After a pretty good nights sleep, we went to check out and found that the owner had a bunch of offerings for breakfast. It's the standard hotel fair - cereal, milk, a few yogurts, juice, toast, english muffins - but still a nice perk. My nephew wanted peanut butter, and the owner overheard this, and before we'd asked had run to the back to get a jar. The things that could use a bit of work - bathroom could be regrouted, and our shelf was peeling - that would really add to the ambience. The biggest thing is the gap in the doors. You could feel a very consistent wind if you stood by the door. It didn't affect the room's temperature, but I can't imagine how much on the heating bill that's wasting. That said - it seems like this is a relatively new owner, who's eager to please his customers - so I wouldn't be surprised if these updates are being planned on being done in the near future. read more

I am usually leery of motels in general, especially when they come with a price tag as low as the Williamstown Motel, but this place is a gem. I decided that my 35th birthday was a good excuse to get away for a few days, so my guy & I chose to go back to MASS MoCA for the first time since college. Looking for places to stay, I stumbled upon this little motel and I am SO glad we did. While it most definitely IS your typical motel in many ways, this affordable room was exactly what we needed. The decor is outdated, but the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the staff (from check-in to housecleaning) is exceptionally friendly. Store-bought muffins, danishes and bagels were available for a "continental breakfast", but we only drank the coffee. It was just fine. It's location not only allowed us a mere 10 minute drive to the museum, but also encouraged us to visit restaurants and small businesses in Williamstown, Adams and North Adams. After we checked out, we ate breakfast at Rene's Diner and went for a leisurely hike on Mt. Greylock. It was a wonderful birthday weekend, thanks in large part to this motel. If we hadn't saved so much money on a place to stay, we wouldn't have been able to patronize as many of the local businesses as we had. My wife and I have criss-crossed the country 10 times in the last 8 years. We have stayed in hundreds of motels, lodges and inns during those trips. Staying at the Williamstown Motel was a highlight! From the start, we were impressed when the owner, Rocky, CALLED us while we were enroute to advise that he was setting the room up for us by turning the a/c on, unlocking the door, and asking if we needed anything- BEFORE WE GOT THERE! When we arrived, Rocky could not have been nicer in advising us of the (many) interesting sites in Williamstown, best places to eat, best routes to travel, etc. When we asked later in the evening for bug spray because I had foolishly left the door open while I sat outside (all rooms have chairs outside for lounging) some mosquitoes had come in. Rocky came back with some bug spray and the mosquitoes were quickly gone. In the morning, we met Rocky's wife who appears to be just as nice as Rocky (and a lot prettier!). A nice little breakfast was available in the lobby as well. We have stayed in nicer looking places (from the outside) and newer, but never a place as impressive as the Williamstown Motel. And by the way? The room was pristine, the beds were awesome, the TV and internet great0 and we had stayed two nights before in a a Quality Inn in Mystic Connecticut that had NO internet. I would look for somewhere else to stay if I were ever back in the area. On the plus side, the motel is conveniently located near Williams College and The Clark. The room was spacious and clean. However it was incredibly dated. The pillows were flat, the bed was a bit too firm, and the blanket was made from something slippery and synthetic. Worst of all was the air conditioner. There was no way to keep the fan blowing once it reached desired temperature. So all nightlong we went from god-awful noise to dead silence and back again. So let me first start by saying that we only stayed one night and we weren't looking to pay a lot. So the price was good. I found a deal on hotels.com but called to ask about AAA discounts as well. The online price was a couple bucks lower and they matched that for me without me having to book through hotels.com. We asked for queen size bed. Honestly, I think it was a full. Because we have a queen at home and this was not as big as ours. But whatever. Like I said - it was one night. The bed wasn't very comfortable but got the job done and it was clean. the room was small but had a small fridge and microwave. It was very neat. The AC was already on for us when we came in so the room wasn't stuffy which we appreciated. The bathroom is TEENY. So be prepared. The staff is very nice and very helpful. This motel was great! it is CLEAN and comfortable! The folks are really nice, and ask if there is anything they can do for us. The room was fine - size was comfortable, a desk, ref and microwave, plus an ironing board and iron! We had plenty of space and the accommodations were up-to-date enough. Okay, I don't get the usual complaints of places being dated - if you are looking at price, you would think CLEAN would trump not quite 2016 styling. Who cares? It is CLEAN! And the Williamstown Motel is clean in every respect! Plus the price is a great value! Not only that, the lobby is cozy with plenty of tourist info, magazines to read, a book "exchange" and free nibbles too. The breakfast area is a bit small, but you can always go back to your room! We sat on the comfy couch.The food is really nice with a good variety in taste and selection. All are fresh and you won't go hungry! Outside there is a heated-in-the-evening area where folks can enjoy the scenery and chat. It is situated great - easy access to stores and such. Lots of opportunity to enjoy it all! Im staying in williamstown for the night and the simple fact is thats its a motel. Thats it and you get what you pay for. The rooms are small, sell kind of funny, and the establishment looks a little run down. Don't come if you are expecting a bargain for quality because that is not what you are getting. Also the lady at the front desk was rather rude to us regarding our room when we asked to move to a larger room in order to accommodate our family size. Stayed here in September 2016 as part of my thru hike of The Long Trail coming out of Vermont. They were very hiker friendly and they gave me a lift the next morning to the bus stop which is near a competing place which will remain nameless. The rooms are very nice, clean bathrooms and quiet. The motel is near a decent market, a few pizza places and a convenience store. All of these are within walking distance which was good being without a car at the time. The free breakfast in the lobby was fantastic. Cold cereal, pastries and a good amount of space if you wanted to eat here instead of your room. I just took a solo overnight trip to catch some culture in the Berkshires. This motel is on the Main Street, Route 2 about a mile and half east of downtown Williamstown. I think that if the weather hadn't been so very hot and I hadn't been alone, it definitely would make for a great walk to and from town, day or night. The room was squeaky clean, so clean in fact that I put a tip in the housekeeper's envelope as soon as I got in, rather than waiting until I left. The air conditioning was cranked up a little more than I like, but it was easy enough to adjust. There was a nice big TV, a small fridge and a mini-microwave in the room as well as an iron and ironing board. Very thoughtfully appointed. The couple who own the motel live on-sight, and are right there as soon as you walk through the office/small lobby door. Breakfast had some nice selections, nothing fancy...boxed pastries, bagels, English muffins, bread, cold cereal etc. Also fresh strawberries and very good coffee.
