I love staying at the Maple Terrace every other year for Wilco's Solid Sound Festival. The kind, friendly, attentive owner updated the bathrooms this year as well as furnishings. Also, there is now a communal fire pit area which was so fun to gather at after the concert festivities were over. The pool is also a big plus at this quaint motel. There are lots of places to sleep in Williamstown but I didn't want to spend oodles for a budget hotel or be in the middle of nowhere. Multiple lodging websites pointed me to Maple Terrace, and I was not disappointed. The room came with the owners' personal touch -- such as Hershey's kisses on the bedside table and kindness when checking in and out. Breakfast is continental style (choice of cold cereals, bagels, OJ, and coffee), but what's extra special is they have trays so get what you want and bring it back to your room. I stayed there in February, and I'm curious what it's like in warmer months with an outdoor pool and what resembled chairs and a scenic view. There are lots of restaurants in the area for dining in or takeout. The natural scenery is breathtaking, and you can't go wrong visiting the Clark Art Institute or MassMoCA. read more

Beautiful setting and a lovely small, modest motel. Everything simple and well done. The landscaping was so well designed -- lots of flowers and trees, and to enjoy them, sitting areas perfect for reading or having a coffee. I'm trying to think of reasons to return to Williamstown so we can stay again, longer this time. (My only negative comment is one which goes for all hotels and motels -- turn down the air conditioning and get rid of the quilt on the bed in the summer! Of course we turn down the air as soon as we come in, but it's like entering a freezer. ) read more

We were totally wowed by the owners' hospitality! We were looking for a budget lodging option and this one was terrific. Millions of thoughtful touches are everywhere- beautiful plants and flowers, plentiful outdoor seating options, warm and welcoming service, extremely clean room and grounds. Even though the whole place was full when we were here, we felt like we had it to ourselves. Very quiet, and bed was comfortable. Fantastic location. If you've got a spare hour and a half, don't miss hiking the Cascades! Co-op down the street was a great lunch option. Super close to Mass MOCA and the Clark. I could not speak highly enough about the Maple Terrace, Ashwan and Rita's hospitality, and the amazing weekends we have spent out in Williamstown because of this place. The owners of this establishment truly care about their guests and create an experience for everyone to enjoy. Undoubtedly, they have been our go-to spot to stay for the last 5 years since my brother began attending school out there. Rooms - the rooms are always clean and guests are provided with fresh towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. If you are traveling with a dog (which we often were), Ash and Rita provide a dog bowl, an extra blanket, and treats for the pups! The highlight of the rooms is they have both a refrigerator and microwave and quite possibly the cherry on top is the Hershey Kisses that are left on the night stand after they service the room. Overall, the rooms are exactly as they are advertised, and the shower water pressure is amazing! Property - the property is landscaped and groomed with seasonal flowers and decorations. There is free parking available, typically right outside of the room. The beautiful views of the backyard are incredible, and if you are lucky, you will see the horses that are behind the property (but not owned by the motel). They have a variety of seating areas and picnic tables, plus there is a heated pool. Hospitality - As stated above, Ash and Rita, plus their entire family have been welcoming to us every weekend during football season for the last 5 years. They are flexible in our arrival times and are very responsive. They offer a continental breakfast in the mornings until 10AM and have a variety of coffee, teas, juices, bakery items, and cereals to choose from. Location - they are located in a central spot off Main Street in Williamstown. It is about a 5-7 minute ride to North Adams center. The location of the rooms is secluded from the main strip of traffic so it provides a tranquil environment away from the bustle of the main street. Stayed over on a Thursday night during college road trip. LOCATION: right off Main Street with quaint large placard easily seen. Checking in was easy at front house. Greeted by very pleasant woman who made it quick easy. She gave room key and tv remote with instructions on usage. ROOM: room #104 at far end of rooms was a queen bedroom. IMPECCABLY CLEAN. No immediate musty odor of what you may sometimes expect of a 'motel' style accommodations. Every little detail was spotless down to shower and tile grout. Shows great care at least for this room. Bed comfortable and plenty of pillows. Absolutely nothing was run down!! OVERALL: definitely would recommend and would stay here again. Great value! Complimentary breakfast from 7:30a-10a. My husband and I met up with another couple for a weekend stay recently. Highly recommend this motel. Owners take excellent care of the place. Rooms are immaculate. Pool is lovely, warm, clean, well kept and looks out on a grassy lawn and horse farm which is gorgeous. The grounds include green spaces and chairs to sit outside. What an amazing Motel! My Fiance and I both had a Air B and B booked for weeks for whitewater rafting. They canceled the reservations two days before we were to leave! We were scrambling and saw the reviews for this Motel. We explained the situation and the owner was amazing! We had a room, it was gorgeous, clean and the grounds are amazing! Super clean pool and anything you ask for they will figure out a way to accomodate your request. I cannot say enough kind things about the owner! This is a motel in its highest form. The place is immaculate, the service is personable and warm, and the location is fantastic.

Very much enjoyed our stay at Maple Terrace. As others have said, the room was spotless, and had both a fridge and a microwave, which was great for us as we are small eaters and so were able to bring back restaurant leftovers for seconds. Other amenities include a hair dryer, ironing board & iron, and coffee maker. Oh, forgot to mention WiFi and large TV with DVD player. WiFi was fine, by the way, not spotty as is often the case in the Berkshire mountains. The continental breakfast included 2 types of cereal, yogurt, orange juice in a pitcher with ice, 2 kinds of coffee cake, english muffins and bagels, which could be toasted in the four slot toaster, which had dual controls so 2 people could toast at once. (And fresh coffee of course.) There's a lot of land with a nice yard with lawn chairs, plenty of birds to see and listen to. The owners, Ashwan and Rita Malhotra were friendly and helpful. beautiful and cute little property right off of the main road but feels hidden and comfortable. the property is clean and well maintained. the room with the king bed is huge and very comfortable. ashwan the innkeeper greeted us upon arrival which was very warming. got the key and off to the room. upon departure he simply said, with a smile, please leave the key in the door and that was it. oh and the price for the stay was more than reasonable. thank you for the wonderful comfort. read more

This lovely motel in Williamstown is run by a couple that clearly has their heart in the business. Lots of great touches, from the beautiful garden and pool to the comfortable rooms. The innkeepers were very attentive to our needs, especially with two young girls. The rooms are clean, cozy, and well appointed. I stayed with a lot of other guests attending a show at MassMOCA, and the layout and common areas were conducive to connecting. My son and I had a lovely visit at the Maple Terrace Motel. We arrived in the early evening, and our host quickly picked up on the fact that my 9-year-old son needed to MOVE after such a long car trip. He pointed us to the pool (it was closing soon), then gave us some great suggestions for dinner. He even called and made a reservation for us. I brought my daughter to visit Williamstown and stayed at Maple Terrace for maybe the 5th time over 15 years. The place continues to fit what you need on a visit to Billsville. Room is comfortable, location very convenient, owners friendly, and price appropriate. We didn't have much time to wander around the property but the pool looked great. The AC unit needs to set exactly where you want the temperature but after one night a bit hot, second night was fine. Will come back again! read more

I have stayed here the last two years when visiting the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and I have always found it to be very satisfactory. The price is not exceptionally low, but you are paying for what you get, which is comfort and convenience. The owners are very sweet people who will tell you as much or as little as you need to know about the town. 4 stars instead of 5 because... well... I once found some hair in the room where there shouldn't have been hair. But it was honestly less alarming than it sounds. read more

I am so glad that we found this little gem of Williamstown. I was looking for a hotel that allows dogs and could accommodate a relatively large group of people, and that was it. Maple Terrace is wonderful. Located on almost 3 acres of very well kept ground, it provides guests with all the amenities they can think of. Spacious rooms, very clean, cozy, and comfortable. Found this place while I was looking for an affordable option on the way to Mount Snow. Room was super clean as was bathroom. Owner was very friendly and accommodating and even set us up with a late check in because we were arriving after closing. Five stars hands down. Great little motel. Clean, friendly, reasonably priced. Everything that you can ask for. The only thing that I didn't get was shampoo and conditioner in my bathroom. It's extremely clean, well-maintained and reasonably priced. I chose it due to the excellent online reviews and because it looked better than all the Bennington listings (which were nearer my destination). Kjell and his family know the motel business and work hard each day to keep the place tidy and welcoming. Showers are spotless and equipped with state of the art shower heads which I'd never seen anywhere. Complementary coffee in rooms as well as coffee cake and juice in the office. It is very, very close to Williams College but the setting is like a rural preserve. You'll enjoy youer stay here! read more
