This review is of the drive-thru tax service aspect of the office. There is a convenient two lane drive-thru for immediate registration renewals and property tax payments. There are clearly posted signs directing vehicles to the the correct part of the building to get in the payment line. As noted, transaction results are immediate here. If you are registering your vehicle, you receive your sticker. This is so much faster than waiting on the postal service! When I was registering there was an issue with my address and the employee almost sent me to Travis County. But with my driver's license showing a Williamson County address, she made the system corrections for me and updated my forms instead. In this drive-thru, only checks and credit cards can be used for payment. Finally, this tax office has two entrances, and, should you prefer to walk in, there is ample parking in front, behind, and on the side of the building.

11 minutes to register my truck today. Had my vehicle inspected Yesterday and decided to renew my registration today. Never felt comfortable driving around with expired tags, even though we were given a pass. I made the appointment on 6/27 at 10:15am. Next available appointment. Same day at 11:15am. Parked my vehicle at 11:07am, checked in at the ATM, $81.00 later I'm waking out at 11:18am. My registration was always $300 or more in my home state. Another reason to love the great state of Texas. My agent wasn't exactly friendly, but she wasn't mean. (deduct 1 ) Only about 6-8 people waiting. I didn't feel comfortable taking pictures in a state building. Sorry! Michael C.

It's not often that I will actually write a review of a government office building, but here we are. :-) Credit must be given to one of the most efficient offices I've yet seen. One of the things I like is the realtime updates you can find at the Tax Office website, showing you the wait times for all their offices. (Pro Tip: If you live to the east of I-35, the office in Taylor seems to *never* have a wait more than 10 minutes long.) Aside from the updates, you can also request an appointment via the website so long as you put in your cell phone number. Once that's done, just show up and wait! At least I tried to wait...I barely got a chance to sit before I was called up. Service was fast and friendly, to the point that I'm thinking: Why can't all government functions be this way? I know, I know, but ya gotta dream... Note: The waiting room was practically empty on a Wednesday but it is big, meaning that it CAN get packed. If so, I'd caution you to set aside enough time to find a parking space. The lot's fine but it doesn't look quite big enough to handle the number of cars that would lead to a crowded waiting area.

Ignoring customers in line at the tax office.

Was new to Texas and came here to register my vehicles. They were quick! What a superior experience to California.

The employees here are quick efficient and friendly. Why only 4 stars? Ms Hunt probably should hire more people to handle the workload

In working with Larry, you quickly get the impression that he's not just there to handle the task at hand but to help problem solve and set you on a course towards future success. His genuine passion for helping people is evident in all areas of his life, business included. Years later I started my own consulting business and had him filing my S Corp and personal taxes. As things began to grow I started to realize that I was in over my head in certain areas and I brought Larry on as a consultant to help streamline my systems/processes and lay a solid infrastructure that would allow my business to thrive under current conditions and also handle future growth that I was anticipating. We worked together to develop a phased program over a six month period in an effort to sync many critical components of my business (taxes, budgeting, financial planning, payroll, bookkeeping, invoicing, insurance, etc) for maximum efficiency. As usual, Larry delivered on every level and in the first year after implementing this program my business doubled. As it continues to grow, I lean on Larry constantly for guidance and direction as we are always making adjustments and looking at ways to further refine and streamline the business. I can't begin to express the peace of mind this has brought. Having real stability in my business infrastructure allows me to do I what I do best and serve my own clients with greater focus. Larry brings a diverse background to the table that uniquely qualifies him as not only a trusted tax advisor, but also a skilled business advisor. I can't advocate him enough for anyone out there running a small business and looking to organize your infrastructure and create greater efficiencies. The result for me has been tremendous. While Larry no longer lives in Orange County, CA where I reside, his role in my business remains the same and I look forward to future success with him by my side.

The communication was good. Emails got responded to and phone calls and meetings could be arranged…read more This was appreciated. Getting into their online system, I would get repeat requests to sign up even though I was already in. I also required a special two factor authentication. This would get annoying. Once I got a bill, I got emails at 2am asking for payment. This was also unnecessary. The worst part was advising me on what to do in the case of a marriage separation. Not only did I end up owing so much I had to deplete my emergency fund, but I had to pay 3k to learn that. I was asked once about my filing status and dependencies without being told how devastating it could be if that changed. In addition, they filed an extension, and I now owe interest and penalties. Yes, life changes mean financial hardship. But I was not properly advised and this ended up being the worst experience I've ever had with a CPA.
