I had a great experience here. However, I'm convinced this is in part due to the fact that I made an appointment with the office in advance. I strongly recommend you do that over just walking in and waiting! I thought I had all of my paperwork together, but when I was working with the woman at the counter, I learned that my situation required extra documents. I was really frustrated. But she was kind and wrote everything down for me. She even highlighted the parts of the form that were necessary for me to fill out. I left fully informed on what I needed to obtain. I only went in to get handicap placards, and though I didn't have my number that was supposed to be emailed or texted to me, but wasn't, they had it in the system and were able to pull it up. Even with that, and a missing form that I had to fill out, I lost it, they didn't, we were still only there for 20 minutes. Where I moved from, that was unheard of. I've sent my 100% DV award letter 3 times to this office in my 7 years here as a Georgetown resident. They have a copy of my P&T letter but recently removed my tax exemption. This office is knowingly breaking state law against their residents. I've called multiple times to correct the mistake but the employees just don't do anything about it. This office is illegally trying to bill exempt veterans while giving huge tax abatements to the new data centers that are moving in. The quality of life here will continue to get worst due to the low lives that work in this office. They make sweet deals with new businesses & are willing to fraudulently bill the regular citizens because they just don't care about the residents. Think twice before moving to Georgetown, this is the nonsense that we are dealing with & it will only get worse read more

The key is to always make an appointment. On a Wednesday in January, I was able to make the appt the evening before. If you check out the website in advance, it should be fairly easy to come ready to be in and out within 20. It's frustrating when you have a complicated transfer like where the previous owner didn't register properly, or if you have to pay a lot of money coming from out of state. I always try to show up with forms pre-filled, any paperwork I may need & payment ready. Today I went in to renew my parking placard, and I was in n out in 15 minutes. It definitely pays off to book an appointment! Franco took care of everything and sent me on my way. The office was crowded, but the kiosk system keeps it moving. Next thing I know two very pleasant people walked up and said your wife inside voting and if you'd like you can vote right here. I said okay they rolled out a portable voting machine up to my driver's side window and it was done. This office is backed up on opening mail by 2-3 weeks. Due to the delay in returning my paperwork on a vehicle it incurred a penalty. When I asked why there was no notice about the mail backup the woman responded "if your paperwork was correct there would be no penalty." Unwilling to help. read more

This will quite possibly be a statement I never thought I would say about a local government facility - "I love the Williamson County Tax Office's customer service." I'm surprised I didn't write a review for them years ago. Over the course of several years, I've engaged this office in person, over the phone locally, and over the phone out-of-state. Every time I have engaged them, they have resolved my issue for me or equipped me with the knowledge to assist me in resolving my issue. If you come in person, you'll be serviced in a reasonable time so long as you don't come in for something at the last minute before something is due. If you wait until the last minute, you're going to be battling lines - that's a no brainer. If you come in during non-peak season, you're golden. Whether in person or phone, their employees have ALWAYS been courteous and helpful. Parking is also plentiful in the surrounding area. Recently, I had to handle an out-of-state issue. Their office called me on their own volition to get more information and to explain the situation. Once clarified, they said they would handle it. I followed up over a week later and called their office. A service rep answered, was able to review my case in their system, and provided a more than satisfactory update on my case. Easy peasy. I called bracing for a fight, only to be surprised and pleased with the outcome. They had handled everything on their end and everything was moving along smoothly. This was definitely not a one-time deal for me. Over the many years I've had to engage them, I've always walked away surprised at the positive experiences. Well done, WilCo! read more

I came in today to get my car tags and met the nicest man, Dale. I just had to shout out what a asset to have someone actually visit and have conversation all the while taking care of you. I know we live in a fast pace high tech life but it doesn't take much to smile, talk, and visit with your customer and still get your business taken care of. I had the worst experience! Belle the representative wasn't competent. She gave me a form to fill out to transfer my Title from Florida to Texas and when I asked for assistance she replied with "I don't know". Everything was a "I don't know". I'm new to the state and I'm trying to figure everything I have to do and she just didn't know. How do you have people working and they don't know anything to any questions related to the job? my review today is more about calling them on the phone than anything, but I have visited the RR office and never had an issue other than dealing with every other tom dick and harry and their 1.5 kids running around, but thats not Wilcos fault, especially end of month. Called and had to wait 20 mins, was 6th in line. No prob, let me work at the same time. The voice on some of their hold music messaging is too low and it regularly cut out. Sometimes it would tell me what place I was in line, sometimes it wouldn't. Finally got someone to find out status on my online registration renewal. Processed today and will come in the mail later this week Observations 1) if you submit online, you need to allow atleast 4 business days from when you submit the request - the county doesnt get the download file until the next morning. 2) fix the hold music & messaging for end of the month, not bad...considering the office itself is probably a nightmare. Girl I spoke with was nice and explanatory. For as bad a rap as Wilco gets sometimes, they actually have this stuff down pat....the jerk patrol WCSO could learn alot on how to deal with the publc from this branch of county govt read more
