I had been a loyal customer for more then 4 years with Safeco , had three different policies with…read moreranging from auto, condo and land lord policy. I just recently received a letter stating that I was owing 372. The problem began early Sept 2024 when I received first letter stating I owed Safeco 325 dollars thinking it was for renewal of the policy. I called Matic Agency When I spoke to employee who stated to wait until Nov 1 to shop around for insurance. Little did I know that Safeco sent another letter that I received today stating there was a later 15-dollar fee for not paying the 325. After speaking to Matic Agency of what this was they informed me that this looked to be an outstanding balance with Safeco and to reach them. I spoke to Chanda, a license agent who was able to find my information. After reading out the information in front of her she stated that I had made automatic payments in 2022 all the way through November 2023. In November when I called safeco i told them I paid off my house and needed to pay my insurance in full since the mortgage company wouldn't be doing that any longer. Somehow Safeco made a mistake and stopped my policy just to open it up again in December 2023. I was given the full amount I owed of something in the range of 2,923 dollars for the entire year of 2024. So after an entire year I receive a first letter in September 2024 stating that somehow, I owed them money? How is that the case when I paid the premium that they gave me for the entire year! Again, not my mistake, I paid the full amount that they stated I owed. Then what's worse is I said you know what ok ill pay the 325 but can you remove the 15-dollar late fee that also wasn't my fault again. But lovely Chanda stated she could not do that and that I could not speak to a supervisor that could assist me in that. Chanda stated she was the highest supervisor for this issue and would not transfer me to anyone above her I guess she owns Safeco. she stated that I have to contact Matic for any further help. I spoke to Matic once again and they contacted a supervisor supposedly and whoever they spoke to couldn't do anything for me. I am more than upset about this incident and very much disappointed in service. I am cancelling all three policies and will make sure others know about such bad service. I can't believe a well known company like them would not assist a customer with such a problem. Instead of removing 15 dollar late charge they lose all that money. I rather pay another company 100 dollars more imagine if this was a claim. Don't don't use them
