ANSWER: When Williams Sonoma store clerk orders the toaster on your behalf, accepts your gift cards as payment ( paid in full) then William Sonoma: *FAILS to DELIVER the toaster; *FAILS to NOTIFY that there is delay; *FAILS (Customer Service at 1-877-625) promises to resolve after your first 4 phone calls; *FAILS to SEND GIFT CARD REFUND AFTER THE 4TH CALL when customer canceled order; *FAILS to notify customer of ANY refund issue even when customer explicitly told Customer Service to call you immediately if there was a delay or issue with the refund (Customer Sevice typed my phone number and instructions in their notes. They do take notes.); *FAILS to deliver gift card refund 3 weeks later thereby causing customer to call CUSTOMER SERVICE again and ask, "Where is the refund?" *FAILS (Customer service) to produce an explanation for the delay or non-refund. FAILS to provide 'customer service' to resolve internally but then instructs customer to physically go to the store across town to resolve -- customer service uncaring about the cost, time and burden upon the customer; *FAILS: (Customer Service) places blame on customer for not keeping gift card (2) that were zeroed-out and retained by store clerk -- "Why didn't you keep the cards? Answer: The clerk placed the order used the cards. They were then zero balance. Asked if we wanted them. No. She threw them out. That is typical of any gift card payment. Why keep if no balance remaining?"; *FAILS to issue the refund or the damn toaster after the customer drives to the store as instructed by Customer Service ("Yes, they will be able to issue you the gift card refund.") *FAILS at store by you guessed it, calling Customer Service and stating another case number has been issued!! (What good does this do? Two other case numbers FAILED to yield any results or communication. The case numbers have become meaningless in the world of Williams Sonoma.) *FAILS to resolve refund or provide the toaster as the Manager is out until tomorrow -- sorry. I simply wanted a toaster. ALL I recieved was FAILURE, EXCUSES FOR MY $222.55 PAYMENT and NO REFUND. None of this review was necessary if Williams Sonoma would have just fulfilled their side of the financial transaction (i.e. provide the product). ANSWER: This $222.55 BREVILLE, DIE CAST TOASER, 4 SLICE TOASTER MODEL #BTA840XL is no longer just a toaster -- It represents WILLIAMS SONOMA FAILURE from top to the bottom. William Sonoma responded to the posting BUT "DRAGON" (Julie C.) -- this is her name(s) she provided. Responded, yet again, asking for the order number. My response is the following, " Last week, we went to the store as conveyed to the most recent customer service person. We arrived 30 minutes after the phone call with receipt in hand. The store manager was not there. We did speak with a empathetic clerk who also similarly apologized. Together, we went through the WS comments on her computer screen. We asked to provide the refund then or the toaster. We don't care -- either/or. She had two toasters that were being delivered. She stated she will call us to when they are delivered and would provide one. It would take 2 to 7 seven days for it to arrive. It is now day 7 and no phone call about the toaster arriving or ability. Can anyone at William Sonoma follow through with the words they promise? It is now approximately 7 weeks from when we ordered. I'm afraid to give you the customer order number because you will be another investigator which resets the clock or passes it off to another investigator. Are you are real person or a bot? What is your phone number such I can contact you to verbally provide the customer (order) number". I'm amazed they can't fix this through their regular customer service number 877-812-6235. I absolutely forgot how great it is to shop Williams-Sonoma. Somewhere along the way I decided it was too expensive for me, or I didn't need all the gadgets. After learning how much my friend loved to cook, we stopped in and touched 80% of the items! The store is extremely organized and it flows well to find items you're looking to purchase. Prices were easy to spot even on the smallest accessories - and I was surprised to find out things aren't as expensive as I remember. Wal-Mart cheap? No, but it's also not Wal-Mart quality either. Some items made me smile and that's worth the premium. This would be a great spot to explore for gifts, especially a housewarming party. The store also offers cooking demos and classes. It smelled good when we stopped in and I spotted a pan of sautéed veggies on the burner. Don't make my mistake and spend too much time away! read more

I love the William Sonoma store. Always beautiful products, great service, and an amazing aroma. The problem is that many of their products are not stocked in store so the representatives often have to order online products for you. William Sonoma's online ordering, customer service, and website are terrible. I went in store to purchase a le creuset pot in January. The clerk did not have my color in stock so she offered to order it for me. She ordered it with an expected arrival on February 1st. Since January, it has been back ordered and William Sonoma regularly charges and refunds my account for the item so I am constantly seeing these charges come and go in my account. The expected arrival is pushed back every time I check it. It's now April so I finally cancel the order. The cancellation is confirmed via email from customer service. 6 days later, they charge my account for the item I cancelled and now it says shipped. Customer service is rarely available and difficult to get ahold of so now I have an unexpected $300 charged to my account for an item that has been cancelled. I have literally never had a good experience with their customer service. IF THE ITEM IS NOT AVAILABLE IN STORE, DO NOT ORDER IT. I will never shop with this company again. After decades and a small fortune spent at William Sonoma, PB and West Elm, we have yet receive a Breville toaster we ordered in-store on Sept 4, 2023 and have not been given a reimbursement after multiple calls to customer service and an in-person trip back to the store. We paid for the Breville toaster using two gift cards for a total of $222.55. Unbeknownst to us the order was cancelled, which we were only informed of after numerous calls with customer service. Despite having an order confirmation that indicates paid in full, we were never issued a promise reissued gift card. Customer service finally told us we would have to receive a reissued gift card from the store. Now, Sam the store manager is giving us some sort of complicated story that seems to involve a technical problem on their end and the purchase we also made in store immediately afterward that was paid for separately with an AmEx card. The two purchases were completely separate transactions. Why is the company's problem a barrier to our reimbursement for a product never received? Why are we being subject to shabby implications that we are trying to commit fraud when we provided them with our receipt? Sam actually told us it is a glitch in their system and that we aren't actually out any money. read more

This place is wonderful, it's not just a kitchen gadget store and emporium of stuff I don't really need but it is staffed by people who know what they're talking about and are very, very helpful! Also, they offer sometimes free, but also inexpensive when you pay, cooking classes. I have often gone on my day off for just something to do but I always learn something and that's fantastic. They also have activities for human children, which is a plus if you have them! I also enjoy their clearance section and sales. If you're looking for a gift for me, look no further. read more

If you're a foodie that loves the holiday season for all the wonderful family and friends get togethers, starting with Thanksgiving and ending with the New Year's Eve bash, you will love Williams Sonoma!!!!! There's just something about this place that screams Holidays!!!!! There are certain holiday staples that I have never been able to substitute, one of them is their hot chocolate and gourmet marshmallows. I still miss their monkey bread mix that was discontinued a couple of years ago. I ask about it every time I visit. Their turkey brine mixes are also very good!!!! BTW, some of best holiday recipes I've made over the years have come from WS. One that comes to mind is the sausage, fennel and chestnut dressing. They used to print a Thanksgiving/Holiday brochure with complete menu suggestions and recipes. They did away with the print version but still have great stuff on line. Don't miss their food items online as well. Their croissants and pan du chocolate are divine!!!!! They offer all sorts of great food items from hors d' oeuvres to prime rib delivered to your door! The quality is fantastic!!!! The first thing you'll see when you walk in is their thanksgiving table setting which is picture perfect! Great source of inspiration for setting your own table. The turkey shaped porcelain candle holders I purchased years ago are always set at our Thanksgiving table! I've been frequenting this place more because I wanted to purchase more items for my home bar. I, however noticed a change in their customer service and was really happy with it. Chef Mark also cooks and makes jokes that makes you feel ease at a place that can seem pretentious if you're afraid to ask questions. He was nice and he gave me both items even bigger discounts than the normal Open Kitchen line price. He also works the cashier. read more

Williams-Sonoma is a great cookware shop, for both home cooks and professional chefs alike. Their stores offer lots of premium products you won't find anywhere else, and the staff has always been friendly to me. I recently visited this location, as one of my friends had registered here for her wedding. I had no trouble at all finding what I needed, and a sales associate was quick to help me by getting the item I needed and offering me free gift-wrapping, since it was from a registry. We had a nice conversation while he was wrapping my gift, and it turns out we knew some of the same circles of folks and enjoy some of the same restaurants. I've always loved Williams-Sonoma, because I love to cook, so I even enjoy just stopping into the store to look around. Most locations offer complimentary cooking classes, seasonal menus, samples, and special events and book signings with culinary authors. They also often have demonstrations of the latest kitchen equipment give you hands-on experience, which I think is really fun. Another awesome thing about Williams-Sonoma is that they have partnerships with No Kid Hungry and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Both of these are great foundations, and I think it's wonderful that a large retail chain like Williams-Sonoma is supporting them. I'm torn as I write this review. I love Williams-Sonoma. I love to cook and the majority of what I have in the kitchen has come from WS. I love it so much that when my wife and I got married, WS was one of the places that was on our wedding registry. However, I feel like their in store customer service is horrible. And it's been that way for some time I have just held off on writing a review. However, I have had one too many bad experiences in there that it finally prompted me to write a review. There have been several times that I have been waiting at the counter to get some help and no one would offer to help. After waiting for a couple minutes I would have to make a throat clearing sound to get someone to finally acknowledge me. I have had a couple employees be short with my wife and I. I even had one employee be outright condescending to me. My wife and I are in our late twenties/early thirties and I have gotten the vibe from several of the employees that they don't take us seriously because we are young. I feel like a lot of the customer service issues stem from that. Now don't get me wrong. I have had some fabulous customer service from their employees, but I feel like it's about 70/30 good to bad experiences. I'll still shop there because I love WS so much, but I'll probably order a little more online from now on. read more

I visited this store recently to return some items purchased online. I was greeted by a clerk who asked if I had an "online" return and told me to set my box on the trash can, while I looked. I proceeded to look around, I had every intention of finding a replacement for what I was returning, and while I'm looking around my husband overhears the staff making snide remarks about my return. Do NOT BUY their COPPER JUNK. I bought a copper spoon and with the first use a plastic coating started peeling. I went into this store with two other ladies. The cashier behind the counter, her name was Donna was very rude and very incompetent to be working there. My friend wanted to add something to her order and this cashier just stood there and told her that she had already totaled up her order and she would have to start over if she added it. She lost the sale because my friend decided not to purchase the other item because this cashier acted as if it would be a lot of trouble to start the order over. I also had a package behind the counter that I had purchased from them, they were keeping for me while I continued to shop in the store and when I ask Donna for the package she just stood there and said she didn't know where it was. She didn't bother to even look around for it. I would have just walked out without purchasing anything but I had already paid for the item. The customer service was terrible! read more

My experience at WS wasn't good. For anyone that knows me knows i only buy the best. Im a trained chef, i have studied nutritional anthropology and i even designed my house around my kitchen. As my daughter and i walked into the store to just check out the new stuff and holiday deals. We was greeted by this short haired skinny lady. I had some questions about their toaster ovens. At this point i figured either she didn't know anything about them other then what i could have read for myself or she didn't take me serious. I own and operate my own business and im not one of those people that shave everyday and dress nice for know reason. I was wearing my old work jacket (bc it's warm), blue jeans and i needed a shave. No matter what you look like you should be taken seriously. Anyway, after that it seemed like she was always finding a reason to be there. Like only talking to shoppers in are vicinity. My daughter and i wanted to try the expresso bc we noticed there was cups, it was on and it had been used. But when she (not any other employees) walked over she kept saying how its a $2000 machine and if we are not serious buyers we can not try it. I'm not a liar I teach my daughter the same way so I told her I wasn't interested but we would still like to try it. The stuck-up b**** said no with a big fake smile on her face. Shortly after we was getting ready to pay and leave we noticed a lady talking with a different employee who had no problem giving her a cup of coffee and he didn't ask her if she was serious. I really dislike people who treat people that way. I would never treat my clients that way if i felt like they couldn't afford my services.
