5 stars for Keith's!…read more I visited recently after getting a stove installed and needing a cap for the gas line. I was in a time crunch and called Keith's. And they knew just what I needed! Not only that but they also had it waiting for me at the front register. I showed them a picture of what I was working with when I arrived, and the staff (maybe Keith himself?) pointed out a few other things that were important for me to know about my project. Keith's has so much of what you would need for a project, with some other fun bits mixed in. I have a soft spot for neighborhood hardware stores, and Keith's definitely ranks high!

They always have everything I need and are right in my neighborhood. They have super nice staff.read more

J-Town Hardware is your typical home-town hardware store, and I love it!…read more Situated near the main intersection in J-Town, the store has a storied, legacy feel to it, as if it's been there for generations and it keeps getting handed down from one generation to the next. It's the kind of place where, no matter what you're looking for, someone on staff knows exactly where it is, and that's exactly what happens every time I walk in. Need an old-style BUS fuse to replace a blown one? They've got it and they'll take you right to it. Need some self-sealing stem bolts? They've got those, too. Fabricated half-inch pipe? You betcha! Parking is a breeze. There are a few municipal spaces out front, and then additional parking along the alley next to the building and in the back. The staff knows what they have, and also has suggestions if you're not sure what approach to take for a project/problem/emergency you're facing, and at very reasonable prices! Yea, you could drive a couple miles away to save a few pennies on something...or you could just get it here and not have to worry about driving up Taylorsville Road. The store looks like it's been added on to a time or two while you walk from one room into another. It's muchly larger than it looks from the street, and the building has a ... personality to it. The kind of personality that comes from decades...generations, even...of helping people with all their hardware needs.

For a number of years I have taken my lawnmower to this hardware store for tune up and repairs…read more They have always done a satisfactory job. I took my mower in this year and they replaced a bad cap for the gas and tuned the mower replacing some thing's needed and sharping the blade etc. However, the cap leaked gas as I mowed. I took the mower back and was shown the cap was not the issue as I had thought. The gas tank was compromised inside for the ridges to tighten the cap. They had a used tank right there available. It was installed same day and only charge for the tank at a very very good price. I mowed yesterday and the mower was great. Started quickly and mowed level, quickly and no gas leaks. Wonderful place, friendly, professional and helpful. I would recommend for your needs.

My husband told him he wanted the $300 blower but there were none on the shelf. The employee said they didn't have anymore and if my husband wanted one he would have to buy the display. My husband said he didn't want the display he wanted one in the box. The employee said that's all they had. My husband found a manager who sent someone back to the stockroom and he brought out the $300 blower in an unopened box. Apparently there were several in the stockroom. I called and left a message and am not holding my breath for a reply. Will update if I get a response.

It's the kind of place you go into to buy what you need and spend the next 20 minutes just hanging out. I have been to this location twice, purposefully stopping there while passing through Louisville. Both times my expectations have been more than surpassed. Once was to purchase my first high end folding knife. The next time I stopped in, the owner of the business unexpectedly had a long out of production fixed blade I had been looking for. This particular model easily goes for 2 and 3 times the MSRP on the private exchanges as it is increasingly rare. Instead, the owner did me a solid and charged me his more than reasonable original price. This reason, among many more, is why One Stop Knife Shop has become my go-to cutlery dealer. The selection is top notch, the owner is more than fair in his business dealings, and his shop dogs are super fun to play with! Totally recommend stopping in!

And they had reasonable prices for the cold drinks at the checkout. I appreciate that they were not over $2 like most places. And they had Firecracker Faygo - this is hard to find! We enjoyed looking at the baby chickens, ducks, and turkeys. They were sold out rabbits. Good prices on vegetable and fruit starts to plant in my garden. Wide variety, too.

When you've done a fair amount of shopping at the bigger box hardware places (we'll go with the…read morenames Orange and Blue) and you can't find what you want, I find that Tractor Supply usually sneaks in for the win. Recently we decided we wanted to put in a rain barrel for watering our veggies, flowers, and Crepe Myrtles. We checked several locations of Orange and Blue and, not to anyone's surprise, found that they didn't have any in stock. Ordering would have taken a couple weeks to get here. These days 2 weeks is a LONG time for delivery. We had cash on hand, so I drove out to Tractor Supply. Turns out they had 2 rain barrels in stock. While I was there I visited the wild bird seed aisle. Tractor Supply has a GREAT selection and variety of bird seed. I have about 10 feeders in our back yard so I go through A LOT of bird seed. (Well, *I* don't, the birds do. I just put it in the feeders.) I've never been let down by the bird seed they have in stock or the variety, and there's almost always a sale of some kind going on. The staff at this location is always fun and helpful. If you're looking for something they'll take you to it instead of nodding in a general direction, and there are a few that have a great sense of humor. No one wants to be helped by a robot. A little personality can go a long way in making a routine shopping visit into a great one. About 15 minutes later and I had my rain barrel and a few bags of bird seed and a pleasant conversation with the guy at the register (whose name I don't recall) who had mad skills at zapping and flipping that scanning gun. From now on Tractor Supply will be the first place I look. Orange and Blue will have to wait.

The parts department and the service department are genuinely the best I've ever worked with. My…read morejob has me working with several different types of mowers and UTV vehicles across a variety of brands and I regularly need parts and maintenance done on them. Every single time I have come in they have been attentive and helpful and spending as much time as it takes to help me figure out the exact part I need. Not only have they always been able to help me find the parts, but they contact me the moment they have my parts arrive unlike many other places like this. I've been able to speak with the service department on multiple occasions to help figure out problems with a UTV and rather than me doing guess work as to the cause of the issues, they walked me through the best ways to figure out the most probable cause and I was able to get it corrected. Potentially saving me hundreds of dollars. Even when I have been unable to fix an issue myself, the service department has done quick and efficient work, and making it clear what the issue was and how they solved it so I'm not left in the dark paying a bill. They have even come to pick up some of the equipment when I didn't have the time to bring it to them. I could not more highly recommend working with these people.

We are normally customers of the Shelbyville location of Jacobi Sales Inc…read more This year the Bardstown Rd, Louisville location saved the day. We had the tractor out and ready to install the belly mower for the Spring and Summer. Once the mower was disassembled and being greased my husband noticed the belt on the mower had a large tear and was about to break. We called the Shelbyville store and found they did not have this part in stock but the computer system showed this location did. We called to confirm that the part was in stock and the employee pulled it and marked it to hold for us. We immediately drove up to this store and followed the good directions the employee gave over the phone. Purchase was made and we returned home in time to still get the belly mower installed on schedule. Thanks for having a wide inventory in-stock.
