ANSWER: When Williams Sonoma store clerk orders the toaster on your behalf, accepts your gift cards as payment ( paid in full) then William Sonoma: *FAILS to DELIVER the toaster; *FAILS to NOTIFY that there is delay; *FAILS (Customer Service at 1-877-625) promises to resolve after your first 4 phone calls; *FAILS to SEND GIFT CARD REFUND AFTER THE 4TH CALL when customer canceled order; *FAILS to notify customer of ANY refund issue even when customer explicitly told Customer Service to call you immediately if there was a delay or issue with the refund (Customer Sevice typed my phone number and instructions in their notes. They do take notes.); *FAILS to deliver gift card refund 3 weeks later thereby causing customer to call CUSTOMER SERVICE again and ask, "Where is the refund?" *FAILS (Customer service) to produce an explanation for the delay or non-refund. FAILS to provide 'customer service' to resolve internally but then instructs customer to physically go to the store across town to resolve -- customer service uncaring about the cost, time and burden upon the customer; *FAILS: (Customer Service) places blame on customer for not keeping gift card (2) that were zeroed-out and retained by store clerk -- "Why didn't you keep the cards? Answer: The clerk placed the order used the cards. They were then zero balance. Asked if we wanted them. No. She threw them out. That is typical of any gift card payment. Why keep if no balance remaining?"; *FAILS to issue the refund or the damn toaster after the customer drives to the store as instructed by Customer Service ("Yes, they will be able to issue you the gift card refund.") *FAILS at store by you guessed it, calling Customer Service and stating another case number has been issued!! (What good does this do? Two other case numbers FAILED to yield any results or communication. The case numbers have become meaningless in the world of Williams Sonoma.) *FAILS to resolve refund or provide the toaster as the Manager is out until tomorrow -- sorry. I simply wanted a toaster. ALL I recieved was FAILURE, EXCUSES FOR MY $222.55 PAYMENT and NO REFUND. None of this review was necessary if Williams Sonoma would have just fulfilled their side of the financial transaction (i.e. provide the product). ANSWER: This $222.55 BREVILLE, DIE CAST TOASER, 4 SLICE TOASTER MODEL #BTA840XL is no longer just a toaster -- It represents WILLIAMS SONOMA FAILURE from top to the bottom. I did not say Williams-Sonoma steals your money. They are just borrowing it until you give up. LESSON LEARNED: 1. If you still wanted to purchase an item from W.S., pay for it at the store and physcally walk out with the product. 2. DO NOT ORDER OR HAVE A CLERK ORDER FOR IT TO BE DELIVERED. AGAIN, PAY AND WALK OUT THE STORE WITH PRODUCT IN HAND. 3. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ANYTHING BUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. -- unhelpful, no follow-through, no communications, customer has to lead the conversation and no accountability -- they seem to take notes only. LOOKING FOR A RESOLUTION DAMN FAST BY TOMORROW BECAUSE THIS TOASTER IS MORPHING INTO A BIGGER ISSUE! Update 10/20/23: Went to the store last week with receipt in hand to speak to the Store Manager who was unavailable. An empathetic clerk tried to help resolve the issue. A toaster was to arrive within 2 to 7 days. She will call to pick it up. No phone call as of yet. Also, copied and pasted this to web page Consumer Affairs. William Sonoma responded to the posting BUT "DRAGON" (Julie C.) -- this is her name(s) she provided. Responded, yet again, asking for the order number. My response is the following, " Last week, we went to the store as conveyed to the most recent customer service person. We arrived 30 minutes after the phone call with receipt in hand. The store manager was not there. We did speak with a empathetic clerk who also similarly apologized. Together, we went through the WS comments on her computer screen. We asked to provide the refund then or the toaster. We don't care -- either/or. She had two toasters that were being delivered. She stated she will call us to when they are delivered and would provide one. It would take 2 to 7 seven days for it to arrive. It is now day 7 and no phone call about the toaster arriving or ability. Can anyone at William Sonoma follow through with the words they promise? It is now approximately 7 weeks from when we ordered. I'm afraid to give you the customer order number because you will be another investigator which resets the clock or passes it off to another investigator. Are you are real person or a bot? What is your phone number such I can contact you to verbally provide the customer (order) number". I'm amazed they can't fix this through their regular customer service number 877-812-6235. Does it really take raising a stink to get the product or the refund?

    I absolutely forgot how great it is to shop Williams-Sonoma. Somewhere along the way I decided it…read morewas too expensive for me, or I didn't need all the gadgets. After learning how much my friend loved to cook, we stopped in and touched 80% of the items! The store is extremely organized and it flows well to find items you're looking to purchase. Prices were easy to spot even on the smallest accessories - and I was surprised to find out things aren't as expensive as I remember. Wal-Mart cheap? No, but it's also not Wal-Mart quality either. Some items made me smile and that's worth the premium. This would be a great spot to explore for gifts, especially a housewarming party. The store also offers cooking demos and classes. It smelled good when we stopped in and I spotted a pan of sautéed veggies on the burner. Don't make my mistake and spend too much time away!

They stock a lot of the industrial supplies restaurants need..and it's super convenient when you're in a pinch and need something quicker than the normal couple day delivery window most online retailers require. I went here because I was in need of an industrial sized can opener. The one at my work was so old and literally snapped in half..and it was beyond awful to have to use a hand cranking one when trying to open large cans all day. I went online and saw that they offered the one I was looking for at a pretty reasonable price. I headed out to the store on a random weekday afternoon. The place was a bit tricky to get to..it's off an exit, but then you have to go down kind of a little side road that, at one point, turns into a single lane road. A little annoying but not a big deal. The place wasn't busy when I arrived, one of the associates there immediately came up to me and asked what I needed help finding. I showed her the picture I had screenshot from the website of the can opener, and she knew exactly what it was and took me right to it. The price listed for the item was about $20 more than was listed online. I pointed this out to the associate, and she said that they would gladly price match the online price..so that was cool. We went to the registers, she rung me out after adjusting the price, and I was on my way. In and out in less than five minutes. So yeah, totally easy transaction, extremely helpful employee, and a vast inventory of all the restaurant style industrial items you could think of..at very reasonable prices. I would highly recommend this place for these purposes and I will for sure be back in the future when the need arises.

No, I do not own a restaurant... but I am an overly ambitious home chef. There used to be a cute little kitchen supply store in Kenwood, but since they closed down I've been looking for somewhere that was not SLT. This is that place. Practical tools for every day use, and not at the bloated prices of SLT. Plus you can daydream about owning your own deep fryer while wearing a chef's uniform and getting sugar cubes out of a spherical container...

    HORRIBLE!! HORRIBLE !!! Customer service and poor installation and repair--because of the absolute…read moredisregard for taking responsibility for the issues that exist on the equipment that was installed. I called in last year to address a issue about our restaurant not cooling correctly with the equipment they installed. Needless to say this year it was messing up again and I call in to have someone come and look at it. The guy who handles the repairs sets up a appointment and I stay at my business all day the day he is supposed to come and guess what? The guy never shows so when I call in he says he got tied up and it's not his responsibility to let me know he couldn't make it lol got super rude and hung up on me. The next day I left a review on my experience and the owner decided to tell me if I didn't take the post down he wouldn't try to assist me at all in getting captiv air come help me. So me needing help like I do I agreed and he said he'd get back to me the next day. Well guess what again a month later nothing so I called captiv air myself and they are coming out Friday. Because of his disregard and the condensation that the units they installed are causing issues I had a employee fall today and fracture her wrist and quit my business. This is totally careless and reckless and not the way to run a business and then to threaten me with not helping me with what you installed and always giving me the run around and claim you installed right I'm doing what I feel is right
