One of the brackets holding my most-used silverware drawer broke, and after some sleuthing, I found Kitchen Kompact was the manufacturer of my cupboards--likely installed 20 years ago, two years before I bought my house. I emailed the fine folks at Kitchen Kompact, and Brett mailed me six new brackets, enough to last me another 20 years! I had also been living with a cupboard door that had been the victim of a fist in a previous lifetime, so I was ecstatic when Brett said he would send me a new cupboard door. Now, I don't have to be reminded of that event anymore. If I ever redo my kitchen, I'll happily work with these folks to get the job done. read more

I have a house with the original cabinets from 29 years ago. The cabinets still look great but I had a plastic bracket that holds the metal track for one of the drawers break due to young children pulling it out too far and putting too much weight on the end of the drawer. Over the years I glued it multiple times but that was no longer an option. I could not find a bracket to match at any of the local dealers or big box stores. I also could not find anyone eager to help me find a solution for such old cabinets. I was looking through some old files and stumbled onto an old spec sheet dated 1992 for my cabinets. I then went to the Kitchen Kompact website and found an email address. I took a chance and sent out an e-mail asking for help but was not sure what to expect. Much to my surprise, I received a reply within the hour from the VP of Sales and Marketing asking me how many L-Brackets I needed. He then shipped me what I needed to fix my problem along with some extra brackets in case I needed them in the future. I received the package in 2 business days and was able to surprise my wife by fixing the drawer. Kitchen Kompact did not charge me for the hardware or the shipping even though I offered to pay for it all. I feel like I got a glimpse into why this family owned company has been in business since 1937. This was tremendous customer service that you don't find very often in today's world. I bought an entire kitchen full of Chadwood cabinets made by Kitchen Kompact about 30 years ago and they have held up beautifully. Some years ago I ordered additional cabinets and customer service was fantastic. The style of the cabinet had changed slightly over the years so they found some old style hardware for me and shipped the old hardware with the new cabinet. No charge to search the warehouse for the old stuff. No charge for the NOS hardware either. Very recently, part of the frame on one 30 yr. old heavily used cabinet finally gave way and the remainder of the cabinet got discarded by relatives before I knew it. I'm sure Kitchen Kompact could have supplied the parts to repair the old cabinet but that option was no longer an option. Kitchen Kompact no longer sells directly to consumers but they did refer me to my local distributor who special ordered the cabinet for me. Again Kitchen Kompact sent me the old style hardware gratis. Customer service has been beyond outstanding. These are clearly people that stand behind their product. I can't speak for the distributor that M.O. used but my distributer Wilsonart (NJ area) was amazing. In short my experience with Kitchen Kompact has simply been fantastic. read more

Do NOT buy cabinets from here! most especially do NOT buy Kitchen Kompact cabinets from here as the manufacturing quality is horrible and CO Lumber will not stand behind these cabinets. The manufacturer will not stand behind them either. The cabinets will have sharp edges on the insides, tape and paint overspray inside in every corner and when removed the edges are so sharp you will cut your fingers or arm if you rub against these reaching inside the cabinet. There will be rough areas on the exterior that look like bumps that are extra areas of dried paint, chips and dents painted with hanging pieces of wood painted. The inside bottoms of cabinets will not be finished and will be rough so you can't clean them. The cabinets will have lopsided drawers that can not be adjusted. They will have cabinet doors that are so uneven they can't be adjusted so will have to be removed, holes drilled, old holes filled and rehung. Floor cabinets will have bowed areas so you can't get them level for new countertops. The outside walls are uneven or not plumb. And the salesperson will not do the plan correctly leaving out filler where you should have a filler, will tell you that you can have a cabinet design and then provide something else while refusing to replace it for what was ordered. And yes, they will tell you that it is expected for you, the buyer, to pay someone to repair the brand-new cabinets at installation. Their repair kit was and a marker that doesn't even match the paint color. After having to pay someone for over 8-hours of work to repair these cabinets, they can NOT be made to look even halfway decent. I have no option now but to pay for the cabinets to be un-installed, hauled away to a dump and am buying new cabinets elsewhere. BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT BUY CABINETS FROM CO LUMBER & REAL WOOD FURNITURE. DO NOT BUY KITCHEN KOMPACT CABINETS!!!!!! read more
