Excellent craftsmanship and top notch customer service. Needed a replacement door and they had it shipped out the following day.

Very pleased with the experience we had with AKB. Hope to use again for our kitchen…read more Ben and Chris were professional, knowledgable, and dependable. We were pleased with the plumbing, electricial, and tile (Ivan and Simon) sub-contractors that were used for our bathroom project. We've encountered our fair share of contractors and, for this job in general, received many over-the-top quotes and/or no shows. Ben was reasonably priced and consistent in his communication. He provided us with a project calendar (we've never had that happen w/ a contractor) and while, his team went over their original due date--unexpected issues--he maintained communication with us about who would be where, when, and why. Very happy :)

I had quotes from 3 other individuals/companies around town and they were either too sales-like for me or weren't responsive at all. I have to admit I was hesitant about going forward with AKB since I'd not read any review about them, but I had a good feeling after I met Benjamin to receive the initial estimate. I got the impression that he actually really cared about his work and the job he does and it was more than just a paycheck for him. I really liked how he was even able to give me a ballpark estimate with just some pictures I sent him before he came over to give a true estimate. I initially reached out to Benjamin in late May and we had decided to start work the first week of July (on that note, he also had earlier availability than anyone else I had received a quote from). We wound up pushing that back once we received the final quote as we wanted more time to save money for the job. He started work on our kitchen on a Monday and was basically done by Friday, except for a few items he had to come back to finish up early the next week. He was great about communicating when he would be at the house and did a fantastic job cleaning up each day--we were able to still use our kitchen in the evenings. We did the back-splash ourselves to save money, and after finishing that, I'm just floored at how beautiful this kitchen looks. I even have to force myself to go to sleep and stop staring at my kitchen each night. It was 100% worth the money and I would recommend Affordable Kitchen & Bath to anyone who wants quality work for a great price.

Initial install was left incomplete after 2 full days when I was told install would take 1-2 days. The initial salesman didn't think my HVAC vent would be in the way of the vanity but it was so install was left incomplete. They sent out an HVAC company after I called multiple times trying to get them scheduled. The HVAC company closed current vent and created a new one. However, they introduced a pipe leak, which as of this writing, has been actively leaking for more than a week. I have been in the process of trying to get the leak fixed and have had to speak to multiple people, none of which seemed to have any effect. I finally was able to get the installers to schedule a date to finish the incomplete portions of job, but it's a month after initial install date. They were able to seemingly complete most of the open items on the install yet an active basement leak remained and they never fixed a drain cover they broke. Then 2 days later, the tub started leaking into the basement. Also, West Shore told the financing company that the job was complete when there are still unresolved issues. At the moment, I am still waiting for them to resolve these issues and have told the financing company to not bill me until the job is complete.

We should have stopped there BUT we received a call from them asking if another rep could come out as the new rep had access to other programs that the 1st rep didn't. We thought no harm listening and seeing what they could come up with. The 2nd rep, Drew, showed up and went over everything again and was able to answer our questions that the 1st rep couldn't. Key among our questions was if the new windows were Energy Star rated for us which we were assured they were. After some more discussion, we decided that, with the discounts offered (military amongst them), we would go for it. We understood there was a wait as they are custom made. The day of the install, the truck shows up and 2 techs come in, introduce themselves and explain what needs done. We have pets so the techs were very understanding and accommodated our one request to finish the main bedroom first so we could shift the pets into that room and free up the bathrooms. A short time later a 3rd man comes flying throuh our front door and straight up the stairs with no introduction of any sort. We found out later that this was an assistant install manager that was there to help since the crew had someone call out. This man is in and out a few times but spent most of the time outside smoking/on the phone. At this point, all of our old windows are out and it's also 35 degrees. The assistant manager apparently pulled the other 2 installers from their work to sit on a Zoom meeting. When they returned from the meeting, we asked about the paperwork for the energy star ratings so we could put it with the rest of our tax prep paperwork. They didn't know what we were talking about and asked the assistant manager and he yelled down something about it being on the stickers. The lead tech had to dig through their trash to find the information. As we were going over it, the windows we received did not show energy star for our area, only through California and the southern states. At some point, the assistant manager left and the 2 techs were trying to finish up. 9 hours later (almost dark by now), the lead tech says they're done and goes over their closing checks. The next day we are looking at the windows and the rear upper windows were left partially unsealed and capped. We call this in to service as well as ask about the lack of energy star rating. An appointment is made for an installation manager to come out and address our concerns. The day of the appointment comes and the rep comes in shoving papers in my face saying heres what you need for the energy star (which does us no good). He said that there was some regulatory change and to fix it we should "call your congressman". He then said he would have the GM call us to address the energy star issue. He DID agree the finish work was not acceptable and had a senior tech come out to fix it. The senior tech said "There's no excuse for this". He made the repairs. We are now 3 weeks out and have not heard from the GM even though there are notes on our ticket saying he's made 5 attempts. We called a corporate number and told a gentleman there what our issue was and how several of our neighbors who were considering having them do work had now changed their minds after seeing all we've been through. His response was "We're a multi-billion dollar company". As a last ditch effort, we called Drew and explained this entire situation to him. He assured us that all this was defininitely not normal and was able to get us a number for the GM, Corey. We were able to finally speak with him about all of our issues/concerns and he said he'd be at our home in 15 minutes. When he arrived and was able to see and hear first hand he was very empathetic and was able to clearly explain our issue resolution. Drew and Corey exemplify excellent customer service and have ensured getting our bathroom remodel when the time comes.

He was only moderately interested as he told us his specialty was "historic" preservation (sorry our house is only historic to our family). We were told we would be called to set up a visit for measurements followed by a quote. After two weeks and no call my husband called the store and was told we would get a call (last) Saturday and still nothing. Guess we'll move on. Would like to use this side of the state line, but what can we do. As Julia Roberts told the snobby salesgirl in "Pretty Woman" -"big mistake" as a kitchen and bathroom total renovation is to follow.

I spoke to a carpenter that has done some work for me in the past, and he suggested I talk to PC as they are a Andersen distributor. Stopped in PC with the idea I may have to buy a replacement window. I spoke with Sandra McClure and explained what was going on with my window. Once she narrowed down the exact model of my window, she took me to their window showroom. Ms. McClure pointed me to the Series 200 Andersen window and asked if that is my window. She was right on the money. At this point she starts disassembling the window so she could show me all the weatherstripping and gaskets. She showed me each one I should check. At this point we go back to the sales desk and she prints out a full schematic of my window and highlights all the pieces I needed to check. I had volunteered I thought I may have to buy a new window. Throughout our entire conversation she said I have excellent windows and she doubted it needed replacing. She kept saying she felt sure my window could be repaired without too much trouble. Additionally she stated any parts I may need she could get them for me. Not one time did she try to sell me a new window. I did ask for a quote just in case my worse fears were the case. So, I come home and start taking my window apart. Two of the main gaskets that seal the windows together are somewhat adjustable. I gently adjusted the gaskets and the window quit leaking air. Now one final small problem. As I was trying to tighten up the window latch, I stripped out the wood casing. So I call Ms. McClure and first thank her for her excellent guidance. Then I explain I stripped the screws on the latch. Yep, she had a fix for that too. Worked like a charm. In these times of less and less customer service, Ms. McClure and PC provided excellent service. You can bet if I need anything window related, I'll buy it at PC.

As I'm sipping my delicious wine, I find that my mind is drawn to one important thought: This Ollie's Bargain Outlet that I visited in Clarksville two months ago would have been greatly improved if they sold wine. Ollie's doesn't sell wine (or any alcohol, for that matter). Too bad! But if you're in the market for discounted boxes of Hungry Jack mashed potatoes, bird feeders, comforter sets, off-brand slider storage bags, water guns and neoprene gloves, Ollie's is your store. There's a lot of stuff everywhere, and honestly, it's a little overwhelming. Ollie's takes a page from the Aldi playbook: There are just ripped open boxes of items on the shelves. To heck with aesthetics -- Ollie's is too busy saving you money to fiddle around with arranging items on a shelf nicely. I stopped in to get some lotion, and wouldn't you know, I could only find one bottle of lotion in the whole store. It wasn't a brand that I would have normally bought, but you can't be picky at Ollie's. You get what you get or you can get the eff out. Visiting Ollie's is like participating in a treasure hunt. You don't know what you'll find, or if you'll find anything at all. But it's worth a shot to stop in and try.
