Most recently, Americas Window installed e-shield radiant heat deflector in my attic area. The upstairs in my home has always been 10 degrees or more warmer than the main level during the hot summer months in Louisville. I have to say that I was skeptical that the e-shield would have any significant effect but I wanted to try to correct the differential heat problem in my home. The e-shield has done an excellent job.....the temperature difference between upstairs and main level has consistently been +2 degrees during continuous 90+ degree days in Louisville!.....The differential temp is barely detectable! He was only moderately interested as he told us his specialty was "historic" preservation (sorry our house is only historic to our family). We were told we would be called to set up a visit for measurements followed by a quote. After two weeks and no call my husband called the store and was told we would get a call (last) Saturday and still nothing. Guess we'll move on. Would like to use this side of the state line, but what can we do. I spoke to a carpenter that has done some work for me in the past, and he suggested I talk to PC as they are a Andersen distributor. Stopped in PC with the idea I may have to buy a replacement window. I spoke with Sandra McClure and explained what was going on with my window. Once she narrowed down the exact model of my window, she took me to their window showroom. Ms. McClure pointed me to the Series 200 Andersen window and asked if that is my window. She was right on the money. At this point she starts disassembling the window so she could show me all the weatherstripping and gaskets. She showed me each one I should check. At this point we go back to the sales desk and she prints out a full schematic of my window and highlights all the pieces I needed to check. I had volunteered I thought I may have to buy a new window. Throughout our entire conversation she said I have excellent windows and she doubted it needed replacing. She kept saying she felt sure my window could be repaired without too much trouble. Additionally she stated any parts I may need she could get them for me. Not one time did she try to sell me a new window. I did ask for a quote just in case my worse fears were the case. So, I come home and start taking my window apart. Two of the main gaskets that seal the windows together are somewhat adjustable. I gently adjusted the gaskets and the window quit leaking air. Now one final small problem. As I was trying to tighten up the window latch, I stripped out the wood casing. So I call Ms. McClure and first thank her for her excellent guidance. Then I explain I stripped the screws on the latch. Yep, she had a fix for that too. Worked like a charm. In these times of less and less customer service, Ms. McClure and PC provided excellent service. You can bet if I need anything window related, I'll buy it at PC.

He provided us with a project calendar (we've never had that happen w/ a contractor) and while, his team went over their original due date--unexpected issues--he maintained communication with us about who would be where, when, and why. I got the impression that he actually really cared about his work and the job he does and it was more than just a paycheck for him. I initially reached out to Benjamin in late May and we had decided to start work the first week of July (on that note, he also had earlier availability than anyone else I had received a quote from). We wound up pushing that back once we received the final quote as we wanted more time to save money for the job. He started work on our kitchen on a Monday and was basically done by Friday, except for a few items he had to come back to finish up early the next week. He was great about communicating when he would be at the house and did a fantastic job cleaning up each day--we were able to still use our kitchen in the evenings. We did the back-splash ourselves to save money, and after finishing that, I'm just floored at how beautiful this kitchen looks. Luke met us at the house in December of 2023 and we walked the property with a punchlist. He had the foresight to bring along his interior designer, Amy, who has proved to be amazing! He bid the project and reworked the scope in two weeks. The budget was approved and work began on February 14th. The project included carpet removal, new wood and tile flooring, rewiring of the entire 2800 sq foot basement, design-build basement kitchen-office and workout room, new master bathroom, three additional new bathrooms, new laundry room, addition of a pantry, etc. Needless to say the scope of this project would take most contractors over a year or longer to complete. Luke also managed lawn service, pool care, a mailbox replacement, furniture delivery, new garage door installation, foundation work and internet install. We spoke yesterday and he has scheduled the cleaning crew and a photographer. I will admit we are blown away and beyond impressed! 90 DAYS, ON TIME and ON BUDGET. We moved into our home about two years ago and were severely disappointed with the shoddy…read moreworkmanship of our brand-new house. Recently, we found Luke's Repairs and Remodeling to address the following issues: all interior and exterior doors were replaced and reframed, all pocket doors were replaced with new hardware which required removing and replacing the drywall. We also needed the entire house painted, a closest built around our mechanicals and additional shelving erected in the laundry area, as well as some electrical work. Luke came out, listened to everything we had to say and gave excellent input for the project. He gave us an estimate and stayed within the estimate for the entire job. Luke started on time, communicated throughout the entire timeline and ended on time. Luke, as well as his skilled carpenters, never minded being interrupted with questions and always took the time to communicate clearly. The project took approximately two weeks to complete. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Luke's warehouse to choose the items we needed for the repair and remodeling. Luke also did all the ordering, pick up and checked the materials that were delivered. We never had to bother with any items that were needed for our home. When I asked for his credentials, Luke did not hesitate to provide me a copy of his Kentucky contractor's license and his insurance. We noticed the way Luke was with the men he worked with. They had immense respect for each other. We are confident that the crew will stay with Luke. Finding a quality business to do home repair and remodeling is very difficult. Luke's Repair and Remodeling is a stellar company. My wife said, "Luke and his carpenters have made me fall in love with my home again". They handled everything: design, measurements, kitchen layout, cabinet production, installation, counter tops. The cabinets look great and I love all my extras like a Kitchen Aid riser base, warming drawer, wood utensil holders, corner lazy susan unit, and even an automatic opener on the double garbage can cabinet. And the finished wood panels on my refrigerator keeps the look so clean that no one even notices the refrigerator until I have them open the door. Signet even designed a hidden panel that has my bulletin board and keys out of site. Signet Cabinetry was a dream to work with for my cabinet needs and I will be calling them to do my master bath soon.
