ently purchased a dryer from Chenoweth Appliances and had a rather disappointing experience. I bought the dryer on a Thursday and scheduled it for delivery the following Tuesday. Initially, everything seemed to be going smoothly. They called to inform me of the delivery window, and two delivery people arrived on time, although only one came inside to handle the installation. The current space for my dryer is quite small, requiring the removal of the washer first. The technician was kind enough to replace the washer hoses(free of charge) commenting that they were in "nasty" condition, which I appreciated at the time. However, this seemingly considerate gesture turned into a nightmare. The next day, we discovered that the valve connected to the washer hookup was leaking, causing water to continuously spray all over the wall, floor, the back of my washer, and the brand new dryer. I promptly called Chenoweth Appliances and spoke with Kristen, who seemed confused about the leak and questioned why the hoses had been replaced during a DRYER installation. She then insisted that the issue was due to our old valve and was not their responsibility. She seemingly brushed it off and said they would send someone out...the delivery guy... to look it at... At this point, I was very frustrated and asked my husband to call. He tried to explain the problem, but Kristen said she didn't appreciate being "talked down" or " his attitude" and quickly directed us to the owner's voicemail.... Which was full and we were disconnected. There was no yelling, cussing, or name-calling involved--just a straightforward account of the problem caused by their installation. Kristen, your lack of empathy to understand that, yes--we aren't in the cheeriest of times because of all the WATER DAMAGE, ceases to amaze me. What followed was a complete lack of accountability and zero follow-up from anyone at Chenoweth Appliances. As a small business owner myself, I had hoped for better service by shopping locally, but this experience has changed my perspective. The numerous disclaimers on their website should have been a red flag. Now, I'm left with a hefty plumbing bill due to their negligence and poor customer service. Buyer beware--I regret to say I won't be supporting this small business again. Next time, I'll be taking my business to Lowe's or Home Depot. read more

Another major appliance purchase means it's time for an updated review. As you can tell by all my previous reviews we are quite happy with Chenoweth Appliance. We always enter the business and ask for Danny Lyons. He really thoroughly knows his business! The current purchase was for a new dishwasher. We have always had a KitchenAid and been very happy with that brand. Prior to visiting Chenoweth we did our homework online and found that black appliances are becoming hard to come by. The current trend is stainless steel or black colored stainless steel. I didn't want either but my husband thought I might not have much choice. This is where Danny's knowledge comes into play. We explained our desire and walked through the showroom to the area that displayed KitchenAid dishwashers. It turns out that the very top of the line did not come in black. My husband got to see the black stainless and realized why I wasn't a fan. Danny explained to us that KitchenAid did have a model in black that was excellent but not the very top of the line. Danny's knowledge went even further as he thought the business had one in stock. If not the purchase would probably take three or more months to get. I didn't mind hand washing and was going to hold out for exactly what I wanted. Danny and my husband went up to his desk on the second level to confirm if his memory was correct. They came back down to the main showroom with the good news that they had one and confirmed the purchase with me. Danny offered us a very fair price and we agreed upon the purchase. Danny and my husband went back upstairs and completed the transaction. Several days later the installer Shane called to confirm a date and time for the delivery. Chenoweth hires installers that keep the store image positive. Shane arrived with the dishwasher on the agreed upon date and time. He was excellent in the care of installation and put down Teflon sheets over our floor to insure no scratches or gouges would occur. The installation went smooth and Shane removed our old appliance. We have now run the dishwasher twice and we're extremely happy with it's performance! Thanks for another fantastic experience. read more

I did it! I finally pulled the trigger on appliances. It only took me two years of consideration and my husband telling me the dishwasher wasn't working to put the fear of water damage in my soul. After working with big box stores in the past and being royally frustrated and disappointed in their service, I knew 2020 was the year to go local. We'd purchased a washer and dryer set at Chenoweth Appliances many moons ago and decided to return. We made a couple of trips to browse and understand their inventory and pricing. Sales associates do offer to assist but were never overbearing. If you go and work with someone, make sure you keep the person's name and give them credit for the future purchase. On our last trip we met with "Steve", the associate that had helped my husband narrow down options. Steve was friendly and helpful from the first to the last moment. He walked me around the store and pointed out the appliances on our list, making sure to explain the price and feature differences between models. It's important - when you're looking on your own there's so many details you miss that should be obvious. I feel confident in the appliances we picked and that we will appreciate the upgrades. We ordered a microwave, refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. Stock times and delivery are all over the board but manufacturing is at an all time high, which isn't the fault of Chenoweth Appliances. Steve was honest with us about delays he's been experiencing and that we needed to take the noted arrival times as an estimate only. I left the store excited and with no buyer remorse. I recently purchased a refrigerator from Chenoweth Appliance. I took my measurements with me. When the refrigerator was delivered it didn't fit. When I told the delivery person that I had my measurements with me he said, "Well, obviously you didn't". They took the refrigerator away. I went back in and ordered another one. I was charged another delivery fee. It was delivered. The filter kept popping out whenever I tried to use the water dispenser or ice maker. I called my original salesperson. He said he'd pass the information to his manager. I received a call back. She asked me a question about the filter. I tried to answer as best I could. She replied back, "That's not the question I asked you." They sent their delivery people out and the filter popped out when he tried the water dispenser. Turns out the filter was installed incorrectly by the original delivery team. The issue was fixed but I feel like they blamed me for it, as well as the first refrigerator not fitting. I was treated very rudely. I have purchased my appliances from Chenoweth for 30 years, but this experience has caused me to reconsider. read more

I purchased 50 microwaves as well as 50 stoves, refrigerators, and dishwashers at Chenowith Appliances for some apartments in 2019 and 2020. As of today 9 microwaves have quit working (18% failure rate). All I get from Wayne at Chenowith is " well - they are made in Korea - nothing we can do". I said maybe you should quit selling them. After further conversation he said write a letter addressed to him, so I did on May 13th, 2022. Still waiting on a response nearly 2 months later. What great customer service!?! Needed a new dishwasher. I've been watching prices for quite a while. Mine wasn't drying anymore and then it was falling forward when the door was open. Saw a Presidents sale on Facebook for Home Depot. It was a good price. I called Chenoweth Appliances because they've always had good prices and excellent service. I knew which one I wanted. They beat Home Depot easily and there weren't a bunch of added costs. Within a couple of days I had a new dishwasher and again, I never even had to step in the store. It got good reviews. The installer was very skilled and showed me how to use it, which settings were best for what I was looking for and he was very friendly. Chenoweth makes appliance shopping easy. The second time I was in a bind with appliances and they got me fixed up with great prices and fast delivery. This time was in Covid and it was still made easy! I never even had to go in the store. My husband and I are extremely pleased with our experience at Chenoweth. We were impressed with the courtesy and professionalism of Mary Kay, who answered all of our questions and was very knowledgeable about washing machines, and with the competitive pricing we found at Chenoweth. While two other large chain retail stores advertised washing machines which are unavailable for an extended period of time (weeks or even months), Chenoweth is delivering our washer within three days (purchased on Saturday, delivering on Tuesday). Proud to support this locally-owned business! I had a great experience shopping at Chenoweth. I went in one Saturday toward the end of their hours and was greeted right away. I was scouting to see if my decision to buy local was going to cost me more than the big box stores and I was pleased to see I could get a great deal AND support local business. Win win! I didn't purchase that day since I hadn't closed on my house yet and my salesperson Steve didn't pressure me to do so. When I came back two weeks later, I was able to schedule the delivery on the day/timeframe I wanted and get the same sale price that Steve had told me before - love the integrity! When the units were delivered, the team was on time and so kind - they even flipped the dryer door to the other side of the unit because it made more sense for my setup. Talk about great service! They also explained why they weren't putting the units flush against the back wall, which made me feel informed. Delivery/install was only $35 and included any part they might have needed. They sold me a washer as "New" and it came to my house with 138 loads if laundry already loaded in it, guess the Wayne forgot about technology now days, The washer was someone else 's problem!!! There was no packing, no plastic,! Then Wayme lied, said it was in a box and it took three days to get it, told him that was a lie!!! They delivered it the next day!!! I called them as soon as it started acting up with in weeks, told me I had to call service, told them no, this was a return and they need to come and get it!! Told me I had to call "Wayne"" Wayne nevered called me back!!! Then he jumps all over with his prices!!! Lowes, Home Depot and warehouse stores stand behind products, never have I gotten an appliance that there was not packing materials!!! Reporting this guy to everyone I can!!!! Beware, you are getting used appliance, owners do not stand behind what they sell, same appliances sold cheaper else where and the places stand behind them!! One of the, if not the, most enjoyable shopping experiences we have ever had. Our salesperson was helpful, relaxed, knowledgeable and friendly. Best way to say it is that he treated us like family. As it turns out he was the owner, and when we called to tell them we needed to delay the delivery by several weeks we ended up talking to his daughter who was equally as friendly which made it easy to see why we felt like family. We purchased a new GE refrigerator, dishwasher, stove and microwave with an exhaust fan from this firm. The worthless fridge icemaker churns too long in an attempt to fill a glass and then often spits out too much, sending cubes across the kitchen floor; sometimes it freezes up. The dishwasher does not dry its' contents. The exhaust fan routinely sets off our smoke detectors when it should not; this includes pre-heating the oven and cooking on the stovetop (without any smoke), and if you boil water on the stove, the microwave above it sucks in water which trickles down the inside of the front! The exhaust is so weak that it won't even move a paper towel until you hold it close. Salesman's comment? Maybe it's because you are using the front burners on your stove. Will they check it out? They'll charge even more! read more

Got a great deal on all new kitchen appliances. Dropped several thousand dollars at this business. Received appliances as promised. A few weeks later, I realized my brand new $2000 fridge wasn't cooling things as they should, was 10 degrees higher than it should be. Went round and round with GE but was told nothing was wrong. In the end, they are having to replace the motherboard and sensors on my BRAND NEW fridge because I complained that 46 degree milk doesn't taste good to drink. In this middle of this horrible experience, I called Wayne to see if they could help me because I didn't know what else to do. Wayne is the owner so I talked to the most influential person at Chenoweth. Wayne flat out didn't seem to care about my troubles. It's going to take another 3 weeks to get parts so I'll essentially be without a working fridge for 2 months. Feels great to spend $2000 and get absolutely nothing you paid for. I asked that my fridge be replaced with a new one because I truly don't want a refurbished fridge. I don't want something already having so many issues. I want a fridge that works as promised and brand new. When talking to Wayne, his response was "there are three things that aren't replaced with new things when broken: a house, a car, and an appliance." Well that's great Wayne but if I could have test drove this fridge or got an inspection on this fridge before investing in it, I surely wouldn't have bought it. So, your theory is proof that a customer can be robbed blind and have no control because they have to take what is delivered to them, even if it never worked. I guess he has my money and could care less about the product he sold me. Hopefully I'll get my brand new fridge to work some day. My wife and i have always purchased our appliances from Lowes and H.H Gregg in the past. We decided to give Chenoweth Appliance a opportunity this time with a purchase of a dryer and washing machine. Unfortunately the experience was very poor. The appliances where delivered with the following: After the install the power cord was under the dryer never plugged in. The cold water for the washer was never turned on either. Both appliances obviously were never tested after the installation. Another problem we encountered was we had to reverse the dryer door so we could open the dryer in our enclosed utility room. We now have an appointment Saturday with Coit Carpet cleaning because of the dirt and oil footprints left from the installers. Chenoweth has been around so they must be doing something right. Just Great. This was the second time that I had gone to Chenoweth Appliance and just like the first time it was a great experience. About 4 years ago my wife and I bought a washer and dryer combo which was nice and they provided everything we needed to get some extra rebates from the manufacturers, even the envelope and stamp. That trip they saved us around $800 dollars over the closest competitor with no haggling. This time we were looking to buy another washer and dryer since we had just moved and from the very start they were $10 cheaper than the big box stores that were advertising $200 off. They did charge for delivery ($30) however, they included a lot of small things that add up that the other stores charge for like dryer hoses and extra length hoses. With a small amount of haggling they came off an extra $20 on each. The sales staff both times was extremely friendly and eager to help if I had any questions.
