My GE washer machine would not spin and drain. I went to Yelp around 7:35 PM, read the reviews, and sent him a request for the diagnostic fee and to see how quickly he could come to check out the issue. Martin immediately replied, gave me dates for the next day, and told me the fee. He was on time and very friendly, though I was being rude as I just received a work call right before he rang the doorbell. I paused my call so he could tell me what he needed to remove the water and for any excess spilling on the floor and I provided it to him. As soon as he figured out the issue, he explained it to me and gave me an approximate cost. I wanted to move forward to get it fixed. Within 2 hours, he had removed the water, diagnosed the problem, and fixed the machine. He processed my card payment and gave me a copy of my report. Used Yelp to contact Fix Appliance tech, Martin, to see if he would come out to our neck of the woods. It was outside of the indicated service area on Yelp's map. I got busy at work for an hour. When I got back to check on him, he was already at our house working on our Samsung clothes dryer! My wife works remotely at home and was caught by surprise, but regrouped once Martin explained who he was. He requested that we restrain our dogs, he's been bitten twice. As soon as I realized he was at the house I headed home to assist in the repair process if possible. Martin was putting the dryer back together. He had replaced dryer drum bearings and other worn parts. Everything was explained thoroughly. Win win! my dishwasher stopped draining on Christmas. Martin came over on Sat afternoon. the day after I called, and was quite thorough and reasonable. He cleaned the motor out and though we never found what caused the clog, he was able to get it running and gave me an assurance that if this happens again in next few days, he will come back at discount. Look More than that, he was exceedingly pleasant and knowledgeable. I have been robbed by repair men before so I am very careful but this gentleman was very respectful of my home and I felt very comfortable with him here. After reviewing the issue with our freezer, he went to work troubleshooting the problem. Thorough and efficient in his evaluation. Quickly identified the problem as something minor. Did not try to make the issue out to be something that warranted additional repairs. Overall, he offers a service that is a good value. Fixed my dishwasher which stopped draining on Xmas. He came on Saturday and was exceedingly knowledgeable and polite. I have had some bad experiences with repair men in the past so I am very cautious but I never felt pushed,, in fact he welcomed my feedback and together we agreed on a more conservative fix. Checked everything he could on my oven and unfortunately it was the main control board. The part was discontinued and he told me it would be 350 for a part off eBay and he couldn't guarantee that the part would last but said he would install if I wanted it. I chose to go ahead and buy a new oven sadly but I will be contacting them again for service of appliances. 70 bucks for a service run isnt bad at all. read more
