Joanna walked me through the process top to bottom, teaching me to source ingredients, what to have in your kitchen, etiquette and the recipes and food themselves. She has a been a huge help in my personal development and glad to have experienced her classes, all the recipes area amazing and the food was so good! I still make the pizzas she taught me almost 6 months later. I'm walking away from experience wiser and excited to cook. You will not regret taking a chance and learning from her!

I was drawn to Joanna's services because she mentioned similar diets on her site, and she also helps with the grocery shopping. We've been working together for a few months now, and not only is the food healthy, it's also delicious and seems to get better each week. I can tell Joanna has been adapting the meal plans as we go based on what I've liked each week. Overall it has been a great experience!

There are only a handful of places to take private cooking classes and there were only a couple available to teach us. I found another place through this cozymeal, and they were able to find me a chef but I had no clue where we'd be (location wise - kitchen, house..). I just couldn't trust that we'd be in a location as cute as La Cuisine. So I decided to book with them since Yelp has such cute pictures of the inside.. my only worry was the very few reviews. But I took that chance and when we arrived everything looked exactly what people posted on here..but even cuter! Chef Paru & Sophia were so welcoming and per the group - they were both attentive but also giving us enough space to try on our own. Also, didn't realize my cutting technique was wrong until taking this class haha! I rarely cook, but now I know going forward! I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for great instruction and something a somewhat intimate vibes and not within a standard industrial kitchen. GF & Instagram friendly lol Thanks Chef Paru & Sophia!

Along with a few other parties learned to make a Caesar salad, steak, and chocolate soufflé. We were greeted with essentially bottomless pours of wine and a charcuterie board. It was a fun few hours of bantering with strangers and in the setting of cooking. Very low stress with simple instructions (even though I butchered the egg count, but the hosts were nice enough to give me a new bath of eggs). Meal was served thanksgiving style with plenty to go around. We were all left very full and tipsy afterwards. Would def recommend again with a group a friends. And the aesthetic is very cute!

Our teacher was fantastic -- informative, patient, encouraging, and always so helpful. We learned essential cooking techniques, kitchen basics, and so many delicious recipes that I'll continue making at home. The class itself was equally special because we had such a great group of students and truly enjoyed learning and cooking together each week. I will genuinely miss this class and look forward to taking more classes at LA Cooking School in the future. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to improve their cooking skills in a fun and welcoming environment!

Teaching: classes are structured and run on time. Teachers are fantastic and patient, especially with new students. Most of the classes are paired off in groups which means individual instruction and supervision is minimal so unless you're looking for something more formal with extremely tailored feedback, a private session is likely better versus a group setting. Other Comments: this was likely a one-off incident, but at a class I attended. I was disappointed with the assistant (Stephanie). As the class was winding down and desserts were being handed, for some reason, she served herself and ate before completing distribution so there were several attendees who didn't receive their desserts (which they paid for!). It was bizarre and unprofessional, which was weird given that she had been helpful and attentive throughout the class so I don't know what happened. She also seemed not to have budgeted well and hadn't purchased enough ingredients, especially for the dessert, which may be another reason for why we ran out so fast at this particular class.
