The morning Reunity was…read moreplacing a new window in the front bay section of the house, serious termite damage from years ago was discovered and the project had to immediately cease. Not sure of what to do, I asked the lead supervisor on the job, Gene, if he had any recommendations on a contracting company for me - here the recommendation for First Coast Contracting (FCC) came in. Not any of this companies fault, but the whole job took around 2-3 months to complete - waiting for permit approval created the longest delay. But I found the owner, Ray and supervisor, Jason, highly professional throughout the process. Thankful that Ray was patient with me when I messed up on a payment a couple of times. There was a lot of work to be done. I was surprised how young the first crew was. They tore down the things that needed replacing - repaired and replaced the header and necessary 2x4s excellently, as confirmed by the inspector. The process was rough for me mentally because dealing with two significant projects simultaneously brought great stress my way. But I persevered! I was there everyday throughout both FCC and Reunity's work and saw that all FCC teams that worked on the house preformed well. This included a tear down to reveal the extent of the damage, getting the boards, etc. to replace them, resealing the new installed plywood and siding in the end on the outside. There was one new sheet of plywood that needed to be installed on the interior, and Clovis handled that magnificently! There were a few quirks on times of arrival on a couple of occasions. This mostly was from the younger team, but I have no complaints about their work and neither did the inspector. I was going to write four stars for FCC, but after looking at only one challenge for me about them, I can keep it for five as I would use them again and they do the job fully and correctly. I'd only say too, that it is seemingly pricey. But I'm not an expert on how to rate them price-wise when compared to other contracting companies. People do get free estimates and FCC is highly rated on Google as well. Recommend: HIGH

This company needs to be Federally investigated. They work with a shady mitigation company and an attorney from Ft. Lauderdale.. I have suffered a tremendous amount of physical, financial and emotional tragedies because of the way this company handled my sanctuary during my claim. The owner has many, random business schemes all over the east coast I discovered while investigating further. With companies owned by people like these, it's no wonder America is struggling. This company only wanted to nickel and dime my insurance company, even after my company agreed to pay for the roof. Since this experience, I had to pay out of pocket for rewiring and over 100,000 in damage. This company allowed my roof to cave completely in while my daughter was going through aggressive chemotherapy in isolation as a toddler. Thank God for our families, business associates, friends and neighbors. I signed a contract with all seasons, giving them the authority to protect my home while they negotiated the roofing price and provided me a roof they did none of these things, but of course, Duval County me none of the complaint, departments throughout the city or State could get any traction or Justice. I even hired 2 lawyers, one got AD. U. I and told me get a second lawyer. Then the second lawyer took my money got arrested, and when he was released months later he died within 5 days. What is going on with the evil in this city? These businesses are not what they seem. On a positive note, I am very grateful that this company did not put my roof on. When my chiropractor saw how distressed I was she hired her brother-in-law to put my roof on for $16000. All Seasons roofing company had me notarize a document stating there was at least $42000 worth of damage, then several months later, they settled for a little over $30000. They played this game on my insurance company while my home was being destroyed for a year

We went to their office and made an app for them to come out, they NEVER did. When I called City of Jax they stated that this company never paid for the permit and they never submitted copy of the contract. Nice work! Owner of this company at the time tried to scam us with paying more for services they did not do, so this company is the last place you want to do business with. Champion Roofing replaced the roof on our house a couple of months before we purchased it and…read moreincluded a long-term warranty. Our home inspector noticed that water was pooling on part of the roof and suggested that the warranty should cover improper installation leading to water retention. Shortly after completing the sale, we reached out to Champion to register the warranty. Tina confirmed that this would be no problem, and she would start working on the paperwork. We mentioned the pooling water, and she told us that her boss (Chris, the owner) was out of town. He would get back to us upon his return. A week later, we had heard nothing about either the water or the warranty. This began two months of getting the run around. We would call, be told that the warranty was in process and Chris would reach out shortly, and then nothing would happen. This week, a branch fell on our roof, puncturing it in two places. Obviously, the warranty doesn't cover that, but we asked if Champion could repair the damage. After a few phone calls, Chris finally visited our home for the first time. I suppose he saw an opportunity to get paid again. He quoted a price for the puncture repair, and we asked him about the pooling water. His curt and rather rude response was, "That's normal. It's a flat roof. What do you expect?" I pointed at the even flatter carport roof that the same team installed right next to the pooling water and said, "That roof is also flat, but it doesn't hold water." I told Chris that his response was not acceptable. He described what he thought he could do, but said, "It won't fix the problem." He then sent us a proposal costing an additional $500, knowing that by his own admission it would probably be insufficient. We hold that a properly installed roof shouldn't retain pools of standing water for more than 48 hours and that the installation company should fix such deficiencies in their work when they arise. You can clearly see a dip between the edge and the center of that section of roof. Contrary to Chris's claim, it isn't a flat roof. Due to Champion's bad installation, it is a dipping roof. Additionally, when installing the carport roof, the crew did not take care to align their nails to the trusses, so there are long roofing nails poking through the underside of the ceiling in multiple locations. It's quite ugly. To resolve the punctures made by the fallen branch, we hired a different company that came to fix the damage within a few hours (after a single phone call), and they charged us less than half of what Chris quoted us. Clearly, the roof was not installed properly, and we are quite disappointed that Champion refuses to address their mistakes. Other homeowners should beware especially if your home doesn't have a steep roof, if you care about what the finished product looks like, or if you value prompt and courteous customer service.

BEFORE YOU GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS, PLEASE, READ THIS! About 6 month ago, I gave this company a great feedback when I was contacted by Rob and asked if I could put a few nice words for K&D. I did not mind.. but I SPOKE TOO SOON. Here what I have been dealing with since MAY 13th till the current day! I made a BIG mistake paying money to K&D roofing without checking the work. Went on total trust. From the first glance, roof looked good. However, when I had a detailed inspection, I noticed that while installing the roof, installers completely damaged the Hardie board sidings of the house that are attached to the garage, broke the brick and did not correctly install flashing causing later on the wood under the roof to decay. Work was still under the warranty, From May 13th till today, July 29th , I have contacted K&D roofing total of 22 times. I had 2 official appointments scheduled. First appointment Rob called and told me that his tire blew up and he cannot come over. I rescheduled. Second appointment he did not show up again and said that he twisted his foot but will show up a few days later. There was no show. I texted him, no answers. I started calling the company and was just giving excuse after excuse. I contacted the company through the portal, but no one called me. I called the company and was told that someone will call me back, but this never happened. I have a compiled list of all the no shows and excuses this company gave me within these 2.5 month. Finally on July 15th, someone from the K&D company called me and told me that he will show up the next day. We agreed on 8AM. The next day I got a call from the person saying he was running late. He finally showed up at 8:30 and here is the story I got. K&D roofing is NOT RESPONCIBLE for collateral damage. They are responsible for the roof, but if they damage something while at it, it is not their fault. I was told that it is mentioned in the contract that I signed. So, the fact that they damaged the siding of the house, broke the brick did not count because it is NOT THE ROOF. He told me that yes, it was his crew that was working there, and they had a hard time pulling old roof and installing the new roof and that is why it happened. There was not even an apology of any kind. He also inspected the back area of the garage where siding and garage meet and where I had a horribly decaying wood and told me that he will follow up with Rob and will be in touch. That was on July 16th. That was my contact #22 with this company. I heard NOTHING back from July 16th. I have a year warranty with K&D.. but what good does it do if they do not show up or basically giving you an excuse for not fixing what they broke? This is the second time I am replacing roof on my property. First time, when I used different company, there was NO ISSUES. When I mentioned this to the person who came in on July 16th, all he told me is that this is because "code changed". So, I guess, 15 years ago "codes where better" and the company I used that time did not damage my property. This time "it is different codes". So, I guess it is OK for K&D damage someone's property. It is ok for K&D avoid customers by not responding to any kind of communications 22 times while the customer is still in warranty. Funny thing, I recommended this company before to my friends and relatives who did the roofs with K&D as well. You would think that this company would respect their loyal customers and referrals they get from them? The answer is BIG FAT NO!!! Once they get the money, they absolutely do not care. I wish there were negative stars.. but "1 star" is the smallest, so I have no choice but give them 1 start.
