Neighbors recommended Elliott Plumbing since they had used them before. So, one quick call to Elliott's home office and we were able to easily set up an appointment that suited our schedule. Workers arrived on time and originally thought "not more than an hour." (Entire building "stack" needed to be shut off so they weren't sure how quickly that could happen. But their interaction with our building maintenance crew proved amicable and efficient.) Bottom line: the job was completed in less than 25 minutes...well under/within their original estimate. And the price was in the mid-lower end of the local estimates. Highly recommend Elliott Plumbing.

What was expected to be a fairly straight forward clog took much more time than planned. They finished late Thursday and the bill came electronically on Friday. I had calculated what to expect given they had 2 plumbers the entire time, 1 plumber for part of the time and the owner for about 2 hours. The bill was about half of what I calculated. They suggested getting hydroscout (this is a high tech service equivalent to a colonoscopy in my field where they use a camera in the sewer pipe and can create a map of the sewer layout) to come out before the remodel so they can redesign the master bathroom sewer pipes (I already have them scheduled). Mark suggested placing a proper 2 way clean out. My wife prefers that I take him up on it so I can move on to other projects. By Monday, Jade had already called to set up the time to place it. Three of them had to come in and out of the house many times but they did not track in dirt or make a mess. Despite the frustration with troubleshooting the previous DIY work, the heat and multiple dead ends trying to clear the blockage, they were always friendly and positive. I really have no suggestions on how they can improve- they have mastered their business.

I also want to give a GREAT BIG POSITIVE shout out to Reid Gabrielson at Artisan Plumbing! If you have a plumbing problem in the Fort Walton Beach area, call ARTISAN PLUMBING at 850-244-4414 I have been a fan of Old Republic for many years, but I have had to work through challenges when they denied customers coverage. They always come through in the end, but it took my intervention. However, they let me down big time, this time. I am just glad it was me and not a customer. I bought a townhome in Fort Walton in April. The renter who has been there for 2 years called me saying the hot water handle was leaking in the shower. At the time of purchase, I had ordered a basic $460 protection plan from ORHP. They sent a plumber out the day after I called. He was very polite but could not get the valve out. In the process, he broke the value at the stem base, caused a water stain on my ceiling below (which was not there when he arrived) and broke the water at the meter (which I did not know until he left.) In summary: The plumber left (with the water still leaking at the valve, damaging my ceiling and at the meter) telling me they would have to remove the entire tub 'for access' to replace the valve. The tub backed to an external wall that was vinyl and I asked why they couldn't go in from the outside? He said that would be too dangerous for him. Then, later in the day, Old Republic called me and said as soon as I could either remove the tub or cut a hole in the side of my townhome 'FOR ACCESS' they would send the plumber back out. I asked if they had a plumber that could create 'the access' for me and I would pay them...but they didn't have anyone. I even called a handyman to do it, but they couldn't do it fast...Then, I called ARTISAN PLUMBING. Reid (the owner) came by at the end of his already long day (5:30 last night) and it took two hours of careful sawing and cutting, but he got the old stem removed and installed a new valve stem! All for $198. AWESOME!!! Had I called Artisan Plumbing first I likely would not be stuck with a damaged ceiling and broken meter pipe. The first plumber likely did not take the precautions needed and he broke the stem at the base. He also did not tell me the meter line was also broken. He just left and left me hanging. Old Republic left me hanging, turning the entire burden to me to try and create 'access' because their lame plumber didn't have the knowledge or tools to do the job properly. They added insult to injury by telling me they had NO PLUMBERS who could help 'provide access' even if I paid for it. CRAZY! Now I am left with additional expenses to fix a water damaged ceiling too. Thanks to Reid at Artisan plumbing, the problem is fixed and my sweet renter didn't have to take a single cold shower...now to fix the ceiling. UGH. Thanks for nothing' Old Republic Home Protection.' I will only say their name sarcastically in the future. I know to call Artisan Plumbing FIRST the next time.....

My husband decided to start the job by removing concrete. Not only did we find a botched piping job by the original contractor, but he made the mistake of hitting the pipe and a drain while digging (this is a lesson learned). We had no water and no idea how to correct this problem without possibly making it worse. We called Shoreline Monday morning, and a few hours later, plumbers arrived to save us. They had to dig up more concrete, repair the pipe, a drain, and then make it functional for the tub. I was expecting to get hit with a painful bill, but I was relieved and grateful for what they charged us for having come out immediately and fixing our mess. Thank you for your promptness, great work, and very reasonable fee.

He told us it works be $25k. When we didn't immediately agree to get the $25k in work done (who doesn't get a second opinion for that much work?), he informed us that we had to pay extra for a copy of the video!! The rotor and "camera" cost us $749. The next day, I called him asking for a copy of the estimate bc I hadn't received it via email yet. He said that he doesn't give written estimates bc we might use it to get a cheaper quote from someone else!! We didn't use the water at all until we tried flushing once the next day. The backup was back, which wouldn't be too surprising if there was a break. We called a different plumber. He did another rotor and camera for $400. He didn't find a break. He also provided us with a copy of the video and a written estimate if we wanted to replace the cast iron. We watched the video. The pipe is in surprisingly good condition and there is no break. It's unclear what caused the backup. It's been over a month and there has been no further issues. I called Jonathan and asked to see the video showing the break or a refund of only the cost of the camera. He repeatedly *insisted* that he never told us that there was a break and that he only told us to jet the line. No wonder he refused to provide a written estimate. Fortunately, I had the payment receipt which mentioned the break. He then started to discuss not charging us for another camera if we hired him to put in a cutout. I declined and he said that he'd call me back in half an hour. He didn't call back. When i texted him late that evening, he demanded to see the video showing no break. Why does he want the video showing no breaks when he insisted that he never said that there were breaks? Maybe I should have sent it to him, but he had already gaslit me and now he was moving the goalposts. I told him I'd play if for him if he came over, but I wasn't going to email it to him. He refused. I told him that I'd send it if he sent the video showing a break. He didn't respond (this part was over text). I have no evidence that he even did the camera. His rotor job appears to also have also been subpar considering the backup reoccurred so quickly and the pipes are fine now that another plumber rotored them.

In the past we've agonized over finding a new contractor or handyman who not only did good work but didn't hit us with questionable or surprise charges, but from the time we first found Eric's business profile on Facebook with examples of his gorgeous tile work and had him redo our bathroom floor, we haven't needed to find anyone else. He has redone the tile in both our bathrooms and our shower (looks absolutely amazing and we are SO pleased with it!), installed toilets, bathroom vanities, painted our hallway and bedrooms, and helped us switch out a ceiling fan with a ceiling-flush fixture with multiple lighting settings, and installed a new mailbox (w/post). We gave him a key to go into the house while we were out of town to install a cover plate for an empty outlet box; he fit it in on short notice so the listing photos for our house would look good. Not only has he done great work on everything, but he's a clear and kind communicator. In the past I've had contractors be very short with me and make me feel foolish for asking detailed questions about aspects of the work we're having done (not great for my anxiety), but Eric has always been extremely gracious and patient. He broke down the process of how the tiling job would go when I asked, he's shown me the most efficient way to patch nail holes and use tools properly, and during the first job we hired him for (as I was just getting comfortable with power tools and DIY projects) he took the time to show me how to properly (and safely) replace the blade on my miter saw! To boot, he's good with our large dogs which is a big deal for us having had many fosters and adopted a few rescues of our own. We can't recommend Eric and his work highly enough. Quality, fair prices, good communication, and trustworthy! Once you hire him for a job, you'll never need to look elsewhere for handyman work and tiling.
