I asked Peter to please dispatch a repair person, to look at and (hopefully fix) the mechanism in my stove's oven ... which had suddenly stopped working -- on New Year's Day (Jan. 1, just a few days ago). About 2 hours later, Mike from Tiso called me when he was on his way, and he gave me his ETA. He arrived in less than his stated ETA -- and of course (smile) he was wearing a face mask -- just as I was. Within about 8-10 minutes, he had fixed, and tested the oven ... after carefully explaining to me what had been wrong. I paid by check, and he gave me a receipt. One, two, three!! All done! :). As I have before, I HIGHLY recommend Tiso Appliance store -- whether you live in Pelham (as I do) or not.

He arrived two days later with the necessary equipment/parts and within less than two hours he took apart both machines and replaced the broken parts and moldy washer gasket and also vacuumed out the dryer since so much lint had accumulated around the burner that it could eventually cause a fire. Everything now working like new. Totally professional guy, easy to work with and worth every penny. He went over and above what was expected in every way.

I started having problem with my stove at home in November. The broiler worked, but the oven…read moredidn't. So I called Jim Gaita. He said he would be glad to come take a look. I was hoping to have it repaired, instead of buying a new stove, in order to save money. Jim came out, told me it was probably some part that was broken that needed to be replaced. He charged me $220. He told me my oven was fixed, and then went on his merry way. A few days later when I used the broiler, it wouldn't turn off. I had to unplug the stove completely, because there was a loud beeping sound. I called Jim's number, but got a message that he was in Florida until February. I decided to wait for his return. I left a message for him, asking him to call me when he got back. I got a call from his wife, stating that he was in the hospital. So I waited a few more weeks. Today, I finally got in touch with Jim Gaita. He told me that even though my stove broke the first time I used it after he "repaired it", it wasn't his fault and there was nothing he could do. He flat out told me, "I DON"T CARE". Absolutely horrible customer service! I'm out $220 and now have to go buy a new stove. Avoid this horrible person and the crummy "work" he does. I understand he's got health issues and is probably burnt out from all his years in the business, but giving me at least a partial refund would have been a show of good faith. He clearly has no interest in providing quality service at this point. He's looking to make as much as he can before he retires. STAY AWAY! I'm going back to All Home Appliances.

I called Allison who sold me the refrigerator and she never got back to me. So I then contacted the owner Nick who first seemed like he was eager to resolve the problem. He said he would send his painter to fix my walls and after having to chase him down, he finally had the painter come. I could have done a better job fixing it than this guy. Just slapped some paint on without sanding or anything. It looked awful. So then Nick said he wanted to come take a look at it He said he was coming and never showed or called. When I contacted him a few days later he proceeded to literally yell at me and treat me so disrespectfully. Totally unacceptable for a store owner to speak this way. I would cross Prisco off your list if you were thinking about going there. If you search the reviews, which I unfortunately did not, you will find that many people had the same negative experience !

But if you have a question, the back house Orange Vests fall in line and are helpful. Once you figure out or are directed to the correct aisle, you can be in and out of this place in no time. So it's, ask for help if needed finding the correct aisle. Locate and choose your choice of product. Look for the gigantic orange and white Checkout sign. Hope there's no line, which there generally isn't in the early a.m. Front exit area staff will direct you to one of the available Self Checkout kiosks. Unfortunately, no manned cashiers any longer. All of my questions were expertly answered, and each step in diagnosis was perspicuously detailed. Informed by years of experience, Ijjumaa's chain of deduction and reasoning flows effortlessly. By the time he reached his conclusion, I felt no surprise and had a pretty good idea of the range of costs i faced. After clarifying my choices, he explained avenues for resolution and their practical (part options, time and logistics) and financial ramifications. He suspected that the $150 part (plus labor) was malfunctioning temporarily, having been frozen. Where Dockery's might have charged me for a part that was not working before removing it, they chose to invest in my trust by reinstalling the part and recommending a procedure to follow after he had left and the fridge had completed it's defrost cycle.
