This one popped up on my radar and I thought I'm going to go check it out. Located in a home Depot shopping center, it was pretty easy to find. Upon entering the place, it had a very cheery bright atmosphere. I was able to grab myself a table and take a seat. Robin, my server, was there in a heartbeat to grab me some coffee. The coffee itself is very tasty, they have a fairly comprehensive menu, and had plenty of options. One thing I was actually stunned about was the low prices. A breakfast of two eggs, bacon and home fries was only $6.99. I jumped in and ordered a couple upgrades including a pancake on the side and the peameal bacon. Again, this was one of the most amazing meals I've had. I had never experienced this type of bacon before, and now I am absolutely hooked. Everything overall was cooked perfectly. Seasoned excellently and I can't say enough nice things about this place. Service was on point, food and atmosphere was all there. Bottom line? I will definitely be hitting this place again, and you should too. I was told that it gets pretty busy and sometimes can be a line out the door so get there early, or just be prepared to hang out for a while.

While waiting for your meal, you'll get to enjoy looking at the history of the diner through pictures decorating the walls. Breakfast was reasonably priced and delicious. The crispy potatoes, perfectly toasted/buttery Italian bread, and sausage (the best sausage I've ever had) were my favorites. Do know that payment is cash only. They will accept Canadian and U.S currency. Screw going to an overpriced and poor quality chain restaurant, GO TO CIPPY'S!! You won't regret it.

It had a mixture of locals and tourists, with the locals being the majority. They were all welcomed in by name. Be prepared for a long wait. Lol you're advised of this when entering and with signage around the restaurant. There's a very limited menu. After getting our coffee (and a couple refills), the Chef yelled over asking what we wanted. Very casual. Well our breakfast were not only reasonably priced($6.99 canadian) but also huge. All made to order down to the potatoes being cut up individually with each order. Crazy as it sounds though was the Italian bread toast served with breakfast. It was outstanding! We even inquired where they purchased the bread and we made a stop there after finishing our breakfast. Overall, great food, reasonable prices, and a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be returning. 2023-97

8/2026: An update: We really love this bistro: Cozy,…read morewell-decorated, with French songs from the 1940's-2010's. Our waitress was extremely accommodating about our requests off-menu. French press coffee with Chantilly cream? No problem! Apple crepe with Calvados and additional berries and peach slices? Lovely! A baguette to take home? She said they sold half baguettes with butter and strawberry jam. I negotiated two half baguettes, no butter, no jam. My single long baguette came in a sleeve that said, "Artisanal Bread". Really, she couldn't have been nicer. One last thing: At the bar in the back, there's a Belle Epoque-style glass bit of bar ware. I asked the waitress: Is that an absinthe dispenser?? She showed me not one but two different brands of absinthe; one in the famous green bottle. Things are different among our neighbors in the North!

The buffet is exactly what you expect (except no waffles, just pancakes?) I did avoid the flat eggs, they were just always rubbery and dry. But the omelets were great and the server really awesome attitude. Some dishes were slow to be replenished and sometimes they ran out of bowls for awhile, even when not super busy. The drink glasses can be difficult to get to as well. But you get fruits, yogurts, bacon, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, even a salsa bar thing. Good convenient way to fill up if you are already at the hotel. You don't really get a clear falls view with the trees that low, but you still see the river and it's better than 90% of any hotel view you can find for breakfast. It's a toss up on whether room service or buffet is preferable.

In the summer, I believe their menu grows quite a bit. My friend and I split the pastrami melt and turkey sandwich; they both came with house made chips. We got fresh brewed unsweetened tea to drink, which brought our bill to right around $40. I preferred the pastrami sandwich as I'm not a huge fan of cold sandwiches and I did not find the spicy mayo on the turkey to be spicy, at all. That being said the bread for the turkey sandwich was fresh & tasty. The pastrami was juicy and flavorful and the mustard on it was perfect. The housemade chips were pretty good too. The sandwiches also came with yummy pickle spears. I would like to visit again in the summer to see what else they have to offer.

Pretty easy to find, the restaurant is located inside the strip mall, so there was plenty of parking available. The outside is a little deceptive, because the inside looks much more elegant. I was one of the first people in in the morning, so coffee was fresh and hot. This place was very reminiscent of a American Diner, and felt very much like home. The lady there went out of her way to make me feel right at home, as if I was having breakfast in someone's house. One thing you should make sure of, is either bring Canadian cash, American cash, or a Canadian debit card. They don't accept credit cards or American debit. The food was great, my eggs were perfectly. The French toast was on point, and the bacon was crispy. Bottom line? Next time I'm in town I will definitely try this place again for breakfast, and might check it out for lunch!
