Just your typical candy shop you'll probably see at a beach area. I do like the aesthetic of the shop and I also purchased a t shirt from them! I ordered the soft serve dipped in chocolate but I do wish the worker waited until the chocolate hardened before handing it to me since everything started melting right when I stepped outside.
A must-do at Coney Island! Our friends all got different goodies (malt balls, marshmallow sticks, cotton candy, wax bottles, salt water taffy) and shared together outside. So fun and nostalgic!
Williams Candy Shop is an old school candy shop (open since 1941) with candy apples, caramel apples, marshmallow sticks, cotton candy, popcorn, candy, and soft/hard ice cream. The store is right next to the Nathan's Hot dog and closest to the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station. This is my first time visiting and I only got their rainbow lollipop. I will definitely come back to try their other treats.
Nostalgic candy shop in Coney Island. It's such a cute candy store that I had to go inside. They have ice-cream, milkshakes, fugde, caramel apples, cotton candy, and a bunch of old school candies. Brought back so many childhood memories of coming to Coney Island. The display of marshmallow treats was calling my name. I just had to try one. I got the toasted almond. It wasn't as good as I had a imagined but it was still a nice treat. Awesome shop for the kiddos and adults.
This place brings back good memories of when me and my grandpa drive around Coney Island. Just stopping next to all the candy stores and just getting food. We probably didn't need to eat but craved. My grandpa, especially likes the cotton candy which is shown in one of the pictures where we both got two big giant bags of it. I haven't gone there very recently, but it definitely holes in the stalls place in my heart and it's in Coney Island, a great place to be.

They usually have vanilla, chocolate, banana, and pistachio soft serve ice cream. I usually go for banana or pistachio since most ice cream places don't carry those flavors. I ordered a pistachio soft serve ice cream cone which is still a good portion. It was creamy and not too sweet. The pistachio flavor is on the light side though. Service is always friendly and fast. I'll definitely be back next summer!
Yes please. I love it here. The pink popcorn, marshmallow on a stick, candy apples, and cotton candy. This place is amazing and opened all year round. It's so good and I am hooked. There is a lot of candy there but check out what I suggested. They are great for day to day or parties. The candy is amazing.
I've been coming to this beautiful place for years and years and years. I always get their marshmallows with chocolate sprinkles and their toasted coconut. And I'm in love with their chocolate fudge.

I sometimes get off the belt parkway strictly to visit this shop for the best jelly apples ever, the best marshmallows on a stick covered with sprinkles or M&Ms or nuts, and my total favorite chocolate covered Swedish fish which you can't get everywhere. Best custard -pistachio and banana swirl. Every time im there I take pictures of the window because it is just so colorful and delectable. This place is a must for locals and tourists. Located right next to Nathan's famous! They are known for their candy apples but we got their soft serve which was perfect for a mid afternoon cool down treat! It was a generous amount for $6, so it was worth it. Could have been creamier but overall decent.
You're greeted as you walk in with a smile. I felt like a big kid in the candy store literally lol. Everything looked amazing. Seeing candy from back in the days took me back to my childhood. Very organized, easy to identify the various candies. The candy apple was delicious
A feeling of nostalgia filled me when I entered my childhood candy shop. My Dad used to take my sisters and I here to purchase cotton candy and candy apples. This business has been in operation since 1941 and I'm glad they are still here. I was able to bring my sons and granddaughter to experience this wonderful candy shop. Prices are still affordable. They offer catering services as well.
I honestly love this candy shop. Born and raised in Brooklyn as a little girl I spent most of my summer weekends at Coney Island. This candy shop is right next store to Nathans. I come here all the time specifically to buy the jelly apples. Their apples are so juicy. Who doesn't love a juicy granny smith apple. I turn into a little kid when I'm in this candy shop. You can find old- school candies. I always get a bag of snow caps, runts, Swedish fish and sour belts. There is so much more than candy in this store. Check out their ice-cream cones, shakes, cotton candy and marshmallow sticks. Prices are reasonable and affordable. Definitely check out this candy store if you are in the Coney Island area.
One Word...., Nostalgic !!! Born and raised in Brooklyn ; so we all know Coney Island we all know Nathan's famous Frank's so you have to know William's candy shop... You cannot go get Nathan's, Frank and fries and not go hit the candy shop !!! If you know, you know !! My favorites are the chocolate covered marshmallow sticks !!! Always fresh always delicious !!! Their assortment of candy dipped apples are also amazing ..... You assortment of all nostalgic candies sold by the pound !!! This place will never disappoint !!! Super clean, super fresh and super friendly !!! If you're in Coney Island, you must put this candy shop on your bucket list !!! read more
Cute little candy shop that was featured in the movie Anora! There were news paper articles about it inside. Enjoyed the movie so came to check out Coney Island and William's! They have so many options for sweets, candy apples, and ice cream. Got a root beer float drink and the portion was generous! They also gave us the remaining of the sprite that didn't fit in our root beer float cup. The employees were also really friendly when I asked them about Anora being filming here. read more
This candy shop dates back to the 1940s and still a popular spot on Coney Island for all things sweet! Located right next to Nathan's is this tiny shop. With windows full of their famed candied apples and many other sweets, you'll be instantly drawn in. The shop is small and can fill up fast, but the staff tries to keep things moving along. It was overwhelming to deside what to get between the chocolates, popcorn, ice cream, soft serve, and candy. On a hot day I decided to get the soft serve. They have chocolate, vanilla, banana, and pistachio flavors, but employees mentioned the banana flavor was most popular. They suggested a double swirl so I could also try the pistachio soft serve. You may also add toppings for an extra 50 cents or do a chocolate or cherry dip for an extra $1. If you pay cash, it's a little cheaper ($5.50 per cone). With credit card there is a service charge of 3.5% on all purchases. Overall, cash is best if you want to avoid extra fees. Stop by this historic spot. Worth a visit when exploring Coney Island! read more

This was a great place to stop by for caramel apples! For some reason, this was the closest place I could find for caramel apples (1hr subway). My friend and I made an adventure out of it and came by. We ordered one normal caramel apple and one caramel apple with coconut. I wasn't sure if the coconut would taste good, but I ended up liking that flavor more than the regular caramel apple. The candy shop itself was really cute and had the apples displayed nicely at the window. The service was excellent. Overall this is a great place (and possibly the only place in NY) to enjoy caramel apples. read more

I've been coming to this candy shop for years to satisfy my craving of coconut candied apples, ice cream & old school candy. Have always been satisfied. My last visit was June of 2016. Drove from Queens after work, just for candy apples. Fast forward to my most recent visit on 7/23/21. Purchased 4 coconut candy apples & 6 plain candy apples for my household, only to be disappointed. The red "candy" has completely lost its flavor. It's definitely not the same candy recipe from years ago. They switched it up. If it wasn't for the coconut and the flavor of the apple itself, I wouldn't have enjoyed it at all. Sooo, that's The reason for the three stars. Fortunately the vanilla waffle ice cream cone that I purchased WAS tasty. Will go back to try again one day.... read more

Every time I come to Coney Island, we have to visit Willam's candy shop. The only disappointment is the candy apple isn't as crisp as before and the candy part is super thick. My wife can literally make it herself, whoever made the candy apple need more practice. The other items such as marshmallows are still a hit with me. read more

They have a varierty of candy here. They sell ice cream, as well as different Candy Apples. They also sell Marshmellow Balls. The cashew caramel marshmellow ball is very popular. I love cashews, but wasn't a fan of the taste. I also love popcorn, but for a small one was $4. I guess Coney Island has to make money. read more
I freaking love this place! As a Brooklyn native and big fan of Coney Island this place has been a part of my life since childhood. No trip to Coney Island is complete for me without a trip to William's Candy Shop. My go-to treat is always the coconut covered candy apple. The apples are always crisp and slightly tart which goes perfectly with the candy and coconut. Hopefully when things open up again I can get back to one of my favorite places of summer. read more

Nice candy shop next to Nathan's by Coney Island. Stopped in after a day at the beach. Stopped in for a mint chocolate chip cone for my wife and vanilla shake for me. My really enjoyed he cone. She liked that it was hard ice cream. The shake I had was nice and creamy and a strong vanilla taste which I like. The young lady who waited on us was friendly and helpful. I nice throw back place. read more
I've been coming to this candy shop specifically for my caramel apples for years. I would drive 30 to 45 minutes just to a drop in and out for my caramel apples. The apples are always fresh and available for to go. It's always crowded but the lines move fairly quick. They seem to have learned about their popularity because there is more than one person behind the counters which is definitely needed. I've tried other small candies and cotton candy but my all time favorite is caramel apple with peanuts. uhm uhm uhmm. As long as they're open I will return for my caramel apple fix. read more
All kinds of candy apples. All kinds of dipped marshmallows on a stick. All kinds of candy. Caramel popcorn and ice cream too. Annoying kids and unresponsive parents who don't try and control them. Small narrow place which we had to fight through the crowd to purchase a few treats to take home. The staff here are saints for dealing with some of the people here. Williams has been around for quite a long time and it's part of that old-school feeling which makes Coney Island so cool. We dropped in here at 1am last night and they were packed! Stays open late on nice weekend days. We were lured in just walking by the front and drooling over the display of candy apples and marshmallow treats in the window. Sometimes I do prefer these blast from the past little mom and pop shops over the giant candy chain store across the street. Heck, that place closed early on July 4th while Coney Island was still jamming with people and tiny William's was still going strong into the wee hours. read more

IF YOU DID NOT GET ENOUGH FAT & SUGAR TO CLOG YOUR ARTERIES OR GIVE YOU DIABETES....THIS PLACE WILL DO THE TRICK WHILE PUTTING A SMILE ON YOUR PUSS. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For some perverse reason my health nut brother bought us 3 Cashew Nut Balls that had a core of Marshmellow. I sure like the Cashews but the ultimate sweetness, made me discreetly throw it away. I already had a QUADRILLION KCALs at Nathan's with a Dog, A Soft Shelled Crabby Sandwich (ophs!, I was the one who was Crabby after a long wait), Fries, & a over sweet drink. Yes, I needed Marshmallow, like I need to stay in crappy NYC. It has been a nightmare week, with us flying in like manics, for my Mom's funeral...& it's aftermath. Your are NOT in Central Coast Farmland California anymore...when you notice, the lack of fresh veggies everywhere. The vast majority of restaurants serve unhealthy crap. So every night I went to bed with a earful of lectures by my brother on the sins of eating out...& eating Fried, Salted, Sweet crap...& could hardly sleep due to GI upset. At least I spent most nights scanning my Mom's old pics into the computer & then uploading to Goggle. Remarkably the double whammy of both Nathans & this Candy store did not cause too much GI upset. When you are depressed & grieving, you crave this crap...but you do have other choices in rural CA..all year round. Anyway, this Candy Store reminded me of the Candy Stores that seem to populate CA Outlet Malls, even the small one in Pismo Beach. They have all the usual suspects & the nuts are fresh...which seems to be asking a lot in NYC. Since we had to bring a few pounds of fresh CA nuts to my brother. NYC also sells tons of crap from China (like Garlic), which is very different than Gilroy, CA Garlic. Gilroy even has Candied Garlic...which they do not seem to have here. Garlic Ice-cream is actually good. At the very least, this place is a good place to take in the night atmosphere of Coney Island.. hopefully without being mugged. As a former NYer, I still worry about this.... My brother told me that this place has been here for 40+ years, but I never had the urge to come here before and doubt that I ever will. read more
Just finished going nuts at Nathan's? What better way to follow it up than drowning yourself in sugary sweetness? That's what William's Candy Shop provides in spades! The window just grabs your eye with its assortment of candy apples, marshmallows wrapped in an array of toppings and nut clusters. The interior is small, but has that "old New York" feel to it that some corners of Coney Island have managed to preserve. In that sense, it's a wonderful follow up to Nathan's. The staff is very friendly and I got to watch one of the girls make the bags of cotton candy. She made it look easy but I'm sure it's not! I tried the rum raisin ice cream and it was delicious. Just the right amount of tartness with a hint of liquor flavor. The caramel corn is excellent. Lighter than Cracker Jacks but still very tasty. Finally, I had one of their pecan nut clusters, which *gasp*, had a marshmallow center! Pure awesomeness. There's no seating spot for William's, so you'll wind up having to borrow some of Nathan's seating next door. Still, if you're at the park, it's worth a try. read more
