I can choose either location depending on my schedule. My review is for both locations. I have had poor vision most of my life and dry eyes for the last decade or so. Outside of one eye doctor I saw in another State (Dr. Fitzgerald at Advanced Vision Care) I have had really bad experiences with eye and vision care. Most places offer long wait times, care that seems rushed, very traditional only methods of treatment that land at you missing out on key ways to improve your eye health (like taking vegan Omega 3 EPA and DHA to help with dry eyes) and doctors who are not on top of all of the new options out there for their patients. Dr. Lazar is none of those things. She is always on time and never rushes. She always offers new ideas on treatments like Omega 3 that has made a massive difference in my eye and skin health. Dr. Lazar is beyond skilled in eye care and is also very lovely. Without question she is my partner in my eye and vision care. Recently I bought lenses at the Darien location and worked with Suzy Ademoski. She too was just lovely. I walked out with lenses that were much thinner that my old ones and even block out much more of the sun while still being clear glass. I can actually drive with them in the Summer and not need sunglasses. Susy also offered me every discount that she could to make the purchase easier on my wallet. I will say they are life altering in terms of relief. However, after having more than 7 plugs put in and charges in excess of $75 for each visit, I questioned the process. Dr F told me it's like "trying on shoes and trying to find the right size." Well, I have never had to try on numerous sizes of shoes. Additionally, I have many friends who have had plugs put in and have never had them fall out even once, let alone several times. I was then told that he has never experienced this in 30 years of practice. I find this hard to believe and then got yet another bill for $95!! Needless to say I won't be returning.

My appointment began a half hour late and was interrupted twice by the front desk - once to ask about another patient's schedule, once to make change for a $20. I have been experiencing occasional blurred vision and when I mentioned this to Dr. Gallousis, he immediately brushed it off. When he wrapped up my appointment, I reminded him that I needed to have my contacts assessed as well. When I reminded him, he responded, "Oh, NOW you tell me." I mentioned my contacts when I made the appointment, at the front desk when I checked in, and when I was initially assessed. He begrudgingly assessed my contacts, which was an extra $80 that wasn't previously disclosed. When I was checking out, the woman at the front desk complained about her coworkers to me. Wildly unprofessional. When I initially made the appointment, I was told that the office accepted my insurance. Unfortunately, the office misled me and this appointment was out of network. I will be paying out of pocket for this disastrous and unsuccessful appointment.
