Greetings: For this…read moreoutlier review, I'm going to reflect on an amazing community asset: Arlington Heights Orthodontics and Dentistry. Please understand that I don't know much about other similar providers, but I will share my thoughts about the care provided for my two children over the years. When we needed braces for our son, the name we were given was Dr. Kemp. He is the definition of local legend, and he's earned those accolades the hard way: He created a superior practice and provides amazing care for patients and family alike. Dr. Hall is the other heavy hitter in the office. Impressive in all ways, working with skill and compassion. If you're like me, environment plays a huge role in experience. Their office is spotless, smartly decorated, and inviting. More importantly, the office staff provides exceptional customer care. You lnow you're in good hands with this team, which speaks to the quality and thought given to hiring practices. Finally, and most importantly, I can boil down my experiences here to one word: Trust. I whole-heartedly entrust my children's care in this field to Arlington Orthodontics and Dentistry. That should speak volumes to you if you're flying blind in trying to make a choice about selecting a practice. No pictures today out of respect for patient privacy. Whether you call them 4 times to reschedule or walk in they always greet you the same, with kindness and with warmth. Nicole is one of my favorites at the front desk. All the ortho docs are insanely awesome, there simply is no better place. All the staff also is great at what they do. As a 40 some year old getting braces, I will tell everyone I know this is the place to go. On a side note, the ambiance and cleanliness is top notch!

The decor and cleanness of the office is super. Let's talk about Dr Ursitti! She listens, and cares. Her eyes and ears are open to inputs from parents and even her special needs clients. Our first encounter was very interesting. The Dr took all the time to listen to me, and quickly changed to use people first language. I was impressed. My son has gotten use to the team and the cleaning. Just a few weeks ago my son needed to remove some crowns under anestesia. They worked with us and found a great anesthesiologist, with the best side manner. Amanda helped us finding ways and an organization to help pay for the procedure. They went above and beyond. He know is pain free and asking to be taken to the dentist! A child who was so afraid said "awww she is so sweet", referring to Dr Ursitti. Give your self a favor, take your child to this office and stop suffering the anxiety and heartache of other places where your child is not treated with respect. THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO IF YOU HAVE A SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD, SPECIALLY A STRONG CHALLENGING ONE LIKE MY SON

Considering the struggle it is to brush my 2 1/2 year old's teeth on a daily basis (elmo* helps us…read moreout a bit) I was dreading our first visit to the dentist. I asked around for the "kidsnips of dentists" thinking that someone who specializes in children would be our best bet (and have lots of toys in the waiting room). After a few weeks of reading about the Berenstain Bears & Dora's adventures at the dentist we visited the highly recommended (by many friends) Dr Resnick. My little one was psyched..mostly for the toy in the treasure chest that I mentioned she'd get after she behaved (fingers crossed) at the dentist. As I hoped the waiting room was filled with toys. The dental hygienist kept coming out for other kids and everytime my daughter would yell "I'm ready now!" And then finally (10 minutes can seem like 10 hours when waiting with a toddler) it was our turn! The dental hygienist went over how to properly care for our toddler's teeth and I even learned a few things (like not to give her milk anymore before bedtime..oops). Dr. Resnick stopped in just to say hi and meet my daughter on his way to another patient...and promised to be back soon. When he returned my daughter sat on my lap in the chair and opened her mouth wide while he "painted her teeth" with a strawberry flavored fluoride, declared her cavity free (phew!) and urged me to get rid of the pacifier at night soon (another oops). He'd be happy to know that the binky fairy did happen to visit last night! My little one behaved perfectly and when it was all done she gave the dental hygienist a huge smile and said "NOW can i have my toy?" She picked out a tiny little car from the treasure chest and added it to her goody bag filled with a kids toothbrush and toothpaste. She walked out all smiles declaring that she can't wait to go back to the dentist. And she'll get the opportunity to do so in just 6 more months! *http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxMrtK-kYnE

Also, I asked for upfront pricing as I do not have dental insurance, and the price was different at the end of the visit from what was quoted. I decided to give them another try, but the cleaning was just as quick, plus they gave me a really hard time about only wanting a cleaning with a hygienist and not getting x-rays or an exam by a dentist.

We use to love this practice because they worked with me when my now 10 year old was two, and had a…read morebunch of cavities. He has soft teeth and is very prone to them. He's also an asthma kid whose inhalers were creating more issues. At that time, they set up multiple appointments and did fillings without insisting on sedation or even gas. Fast forward to now and all has changed. We started having problems after starting ortho last fall. No issues with Dr. Wally as of yet. He seems fine, but we asked to skip x-rays during one cleaning visit because my son had a ton of them just a few months before for ortho. They refused to see him and we had to reschedule his cleaning. When they convinced us to come back and agree to X-rays because we couldn't move forward with ortho until we did, they found a couple of small cavities that were visible. We agreed to get them fixed, and set up an appointment, but they automatically added nitrous to the plan. I let them know I wasn't comfortable with the gas and that it seems overkill for a 10 year old that sits just fine for procedures. The doctor wouldn't make any promises on not requiring sedation (IV or gas). So, now we are taking my son to my dentist who will no doubt fill those tiny cavities with a bit of numbing. I am not sure why they insist on the excessive treatment that creates greater risk other than profits and possibly making the job extra easy on them, but it is absurd. They even admitted that other countries don't do as many x-rays when I brought it up. The drugs too are no joke, and at least the nitrous was not covered by insurance. I wish we hadn't started ortho here and they are quick to remind us that there are no refunds. In general another example of all that is wrong and broken in our healthcare system.
