This rating is on the Burger and fries (gets a 5 out of 5 for me)! Definitely recommend!!!

We tried this place for the first time. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. I will have to say that the drinks are not that great. My mother is an avid sweet tea drinker and she was very disappointed in the sweet tea. I had gotten a Sprite My Son had gotten a Coke. and the drinks were flat. When I asked the waitress if the drinks were fountain, she said yes and I said OK. I believe something's off and she said oh yeah we know it's flat. So I said OK. Is there another option like a lemonade and then she said well it comes from the same machine so it's also gonna taste the same way. The cheeseburger and fries were good, but nothing that made it stand out read more

Pros: Very good Carolina pulled pork sandwich. Additional seating is available outside, though it's only practical during warmer months. Cons: Fries had too much seasoning. Grilled chicken sandwich nothing special- not enough seasoning. Small indoor seating area- only 4-5 tables. We asked for food to go since we're visiting and they only had one very small container of ketchup they could give us Overall: The pulled pork sandwich is the highlight, but the rest of the meal and the limited seating make it a mediocre experience. Convenient for a quick stop, but not a standout dining destination. Based on this, I give this establishment a 2.5 out of 5 stars. read more

We stumbled into this place looking for something to eat on a Friday night. For a small place, the locals kept coming in and grabbing their food for takeout so you know it's a solid location. The pork bbq was great, big sandwich! I took a picture before slathering it in their delicious bbq sauce - they had mild, hot and Carolina vinegar style sauce. The sauce was so good we bought some to go. Also, the half tea half lemonade was amazinggg, we got two more cups of those to go too. So glad we found this place. read more

Willey's BBQ - Pork bbq - Barbeque Near Me - Colonial Beach, Virginia

We had a decent lunch at Willey's in the off -season -maybe 3.5 stars but I rounded down. I got the pork sandwich, which was fine but nothing special. My husband got the burger which he said was also fine. Very limited beer selection. They have a new covered/enclosed patio area which was pleasant and our waitress was very friendly. read more

A super late review! Willey's Road Stove is located right on the boardwalk by the beach, where they have a walk-up window. They offer NC BBQ pork, ribs, BBQ chicken, and various homemade sides, like coleslaw, BBQ beans, potato salad, and macaroni salad. Unfortunately, they were not serving any ribs when we went, so we ordered the following for a late lunch instead: +the NC BBQ Pork - request all three of the sauces: NC vinegar, mild, and hot! +BBQ beans +macaroni salad +potato salad +coleslaw +hush puppies +1/2 and 1/2 tea and lemonade The pulled pork was super juicy and tasty, and each of the sauces complimented the pork very well. The sides and the drink were just okay; I would have loved to have tried their ribs! There are some tables set outside and some benches along the river. Plenty of parking in the lot. +NC BBQ Pork +friendly staff +picnic tables available +plenty of parking in lot read more

Food, service, ownership and environment are all amazing! The brisket is absolutely mouth watering, their burgers are the best in town, and I hear the pork barbecue is second to none. read more

Outstanding food, anything you order is remarkable. People are super friendly and care about your order. Highly recommend, Willey's is a CB must have! read more

Friendly staff and savory barbecue sandwich. Very convenient location and highly recommend the hush puppies too. For the barbecue we had both the NC vinegar and mild sauce, two of them pair well together with the sandwich. read more

Willey's BBQ - Front of Willeys - Barbeque Near Me - Colonial Beach, Virginia

Willey's has been a Colonial Beach staple for years! Simply the best BBQ. And the Willey's burger is excellent! Don't forget the Lima beans and baked beans. Actually, I've not had a bad meal there yet! read more

A few years back Willey's BBQ was open on the outskirts of Colonial Beach, VA (Ridge Road). Then despite many many very sad customers Willey's shut it's doors and the best Pulled Pork in america could no longer be eaten. Well like the second coming Willey's has once again opened it's doors on "the boardwalk" at 101 Taylor street in downtown Colonial Beach Va.The new place is a walk up window right next to the Potomac river! Willey's is once again selling all their classics. Amazing Carolina Style Pulled Pork, Ribs, Chicken, The best Hush Puppies and more. Willey's BBQ is honestly what I base all other BBQ's in America on. I have been to so many BBQ places and none compare to Willey's. They are the bench mark for good BBQ. Overall if you are looking for the best food on the northern neck look no further than Willey's BBQ! Welcome Back Willey's! Amazing BBQ once again exists! read more

Great food and service, been going to willeys since it was on 205 and never had a bad experience. The food is a little on the pricey side now but no surprise with the current economy. read more

I visited Willey's over the weekend after spending the day at Colonial Beach. I attempted to order steamed shrimp but was informed they were they were out. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with fries instead. I was then told that there were no fries. I agreed. I approach the window about 10-15 minutes later to inquire about my order. I saw 3 orders of food sitting with the lids open and flies sitting on top of the food. I then witness another customer order his food. He ordered fries without a problem. I politely asked this much older woman if fries were available because I was told that they were not. She immediately got defensive and said "no! Those shouldn't have even been sold!". I suggested for her to change the menu to reflect available items. She began to yell at me as if I were not a paying customer. she had the nerve to say "I'm not going to argue with you!" As if she were too good to have a conversation with me. I kindly asked for a refund because this is no way to treat anyone. The decrepit woman then proceeds to yell "give her a refund!" I chose to go to this establishment despite it being dingy and dusty because there weren't many options. I guess they must be doing so well that they need my money. I honestly feel this was racially motivated and would not recommend Willey's at Colonial Beach to anyone. As long as this old hag is behind the counter and on the grill they will never succeed. read more

Willey's BBQ - an elephant in front of a building - Barbeque Near Me - Colonial Beach, Virginia

AMAZING!!! It was our first time coming down to colonial beach and we realized that there wasn't many food places to choose from. I looked on yelp and we decided to go with this place because of the reviews and they were not wrong!! The bbq was really good and OMG!!! The hush puppies are huge! And obviously homemade! We will definitely be back here again! read more

With very little to choose from in CB, Willey's has become a go-to for us! My son loves the pulled pork (great price too) and the Willey's burger is delish. My husband is a fan of the cheesesteak. Kinda sad they got rid of the kid's menu but doesn't stop us from going there. Good food and one of the businesses with actual consistent hours in this sleepy town! read more

Willey's BBQ - Mini peach cobbler - Barbeque Near Me - Colonial Beach, Virginia

This is the quintessential Mom & Pop operation. The food is amazing. The pulled pork with mild sauce is my absolute favorite. The homemade Macaroni Salad is second to none. Pit beef and burgers are wonderful too. Their Ribs are lip-smacking good but MUST be ordered 24 hours in advance. They are no longer on the boardwalk, they are in a food truck by Halls Supermarket. However, I heard they will be moving much closer to the boardwalk and will be back in a building soon. Be sure to check to see if they have a Friday special, some weeks they do, some weeks they don't. Super friendly and fast service. read more

Wow. This was a nice surprise. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich, hush puppies and peach cobbler and all were delicious. The pulled pork was flavorful and not dry and covered up with sauce. I was a little worried that the roll/bun was going to be dry and gross but it wasn't at all. Nothing is worse than good meat on lousy bun. Not the case at Willeys! The hush puppies were really good. Nice and crunchy on the outside, not bone dry on the inside. Lastly...the peach cobbler. Holy smokes...so good. Lady on the phone was really nice. Friendly and got me all taken care of in no time. Willeys won me over, I'll definitely add this to my food rotation when visiting Colonial Beach read more

Best surprise I've had in a long time. Unassuming place with legit NC pork BBQ. We were on our way back to DC when we found this place. We ordered the family pack, which comes with 4 rolls and Cole slaw. The slaw is fresh and delicious, pairs beautifully with the meat and the delish NC sauce. Ros are brioche and also awesome. read more

As a North Carolinian, I am a hard sell when it comes to bbq. I have to admit that this was the BEST bbq I have had hands down here or at home (Sorry, NC!) We had the nc bbq sandwich with slaw, hush puppies, baked beans, and peach cobbler. There was not a single complaint about a thing we tasted. In fact, we were saddened that we didn't grab more. The bbq was moist and tender without any sauce. (I ALWAYS add hot sauce). The hushpuppies were crisp but fluffy inside. (The melted butter was a plus) The peach cobbler was just right as well and the baked beans had brisket in it which was perfect. I can't wait to get back to Colonial Beach to try this place again. The window is walk-up on the beach, and it does take a while to get your food, but boy is it worth it. A must try when in the area. We noticed that many people where ordering the lima beans, so we will try those next time. read more

Deliciously smoked beef and naturally sweet pork sets Willey's above every BBQ place around, and there's a lot. The double portion sandwiches can be sauced with Kansas City or North Carolina style, except you won't need either for flavor. Willey's barbecues thick racks of ribs I don't think you can get in regular stores. Savor the layers of meat from outside to bone and you'll be daydreaming about when you can get them again. Super sides include a box of 6 potato skins filled with cheese and bacon or a dish of lima beans better than Moses coming down the mountain, Classic preparations of macaroni salad, cold cucumber vinaigrette, and worthwhile baked beans are a few other sides to try. Keep your fingers crossed that the day's soups and and desserts include Willey's proper chili or bourbon bread pudding that will spoil you forever. Or just smile your way through some soft-serve ice cream. Home delivery is ready to go for $2 if you don't want to drive to the boardwalk yourself. And Willey's is open Friday through Sunday--all winter, too. That's exceptional service in a beach town and another reason Willey's is the best of BBQs. The local taxi cab also delivers from Willey's 540/376-8607 read more
