My son pleaded with me to write a review because he loved the food so much. He even wrote in their visitors book about how great the food was. My wife had the brisket sandwich and it was so tender and packed with flavor. My son and I had the buffalo chicken Mac bowl and it was easily the best Mac bowl I've had. Highly recommend checking this spot out if you're look for great BBQ!

Been wanting to stop here and finally got the chance. The place is much cuter on the inside than what we expected (honestly not sure what we expected). I ordered the pulled pork platter which came with two sides and cornbread. I chose the jalapeno poppers and mac and cheese. It was a huge portion of pork...which was delicious. The poppers and mac were amazing. My hubby loved his ribs and onion rings and potato salad. Cornbread was great. I started following on Facebook for all specials. Only thing is no alcohol. My hubby would've liked a beer with his ribs. Maybe BYOB? That would be helpful. We will definitely return.

The ribs almost literally melted off the bone!

Being a North Carolina transplant, I take BBQ incredibly seriously. When I hear a "friend from the upper latitudes" say their going to have a BBQ with hotdogs and hamburgers, I die a little inside. The N.C. flag flying on their building caught my eye. Today was their grand opening so I took my 7mo pregnant wife up to grab a plate. The parking lot was packed, the building was small, but I didn't notice any of that over the instantly welcoming aroma of awesomeness wafting in the air. Their smoking rig was open and the smoke was flowing! Their offerings are pretty standard for a BBQ place, and that's not an insult. These guys are selling gelato or souvenir shirts... they know what they're here to do. My wife and I both ordered a pulled pork plate for just over $10 a piece and a couple good sized ribs for another $5. The meal came with a hefty portion of smoked pork on a substantial bun, baked beans, and I elected for red slaw. The wife got mayo slaw and rest assured that we will have a LONG conversation about that transgression later. A note about the bun... these guys aren't using week-old Sunbeam bread. This was a sturdy bun that held up to the meat and a dousing of their sauce. A note about the meat... smoked and NOT TOSSED IN SAUCE! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Tons of places in Virginia seem to toss sauce with their meat which just tells me they don't have faith in their smoking product. Team Carolina BBQ seems to know what's up. A note about the sauce... this is what I like. Vinegar with a hint of tomato (I think) and all the normal spices. It's not Heinz or some kind of sauce you could use to patch driveways. I snagged myself an extra cup because I think trying this stuff made me hear colors. It was awesome. With this review complete, I'm going to go have that "mayo slaw" conversation with the wife, but Team Carolina BBQ is a winner. I finally found good Virginia BBQ... I just had to go find a North Carolina flag first!

I judge every spot against what I'm putting out at home... and a lot of places fall short -- whether it's weak seasoning, lack of smoke, or just flat-out underwhelming flavor. But Wild Waylon's BBQ? Yeah... this place is LEGIT. We went all in: pulled pork, brisket, and the big dino beef ribs -- plus mac and cheese, green beans, a bacon-wrapped jalapeño popper, and the jalapeño cornbread. Every single thing delivered. The brisket had great flavor and was cooked right, the pulled pork was juicy and well-seasoned, and those beef ribs... absolute showstopper. Big, meaty, packed with flavor, and done exactly how you'd want them. Sides were just as solid. The mac and cheese was rich and satisfying, green beans had great flavor, and that bacon-wrapped jalapeño popper + jalapeño cornbread combo? Yeah... ridiculous in the best way. And the smoke -- you can actually taste it. That alone separates them from a lot of spots. The whole experience was on point too. The big pit out front lets you know immediately they're serious about their craft, and the staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful the entire time. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality you're getting. This is one of the few places I've been where I walk away thinking, "yeah... they're doing it right." If you're anywhere near Fredericksburg -- or even just passing through -- this spot is absolutely worth the stop.

Oct, 2025. We visited Country Boys BBQ for lunch on a week-day while running errands in Louisa, VA;…read morethis was our first visit. Food (5/5). I selected the Pork Tacos PLATTER ($16), which featured three soft flour tortillas filled with smoked pulled pork, house-made pico (red onion, tomato, cilantro), and radish with a Baja drizzle. (Corn tortillas are available upon request). All platters come with two 8-ounce sides; from the 9 choices, we opted for the broccoli salad and onion rings. My husband selected a Smoked Pulled Pork SANDWICH ($10), which was served on a "signature-branded" bun with regular or spicy slaw (on the side) and with a bag of Lay's chips. All of our food was very good, and tasted fresh and homemade. The "branding" of the restaurant's logo on the bun was a fun touch, and we got a pleasant surprise in finding that the very tasty BBQ sauce on the tables was manufactured by GWB Hot Sauce in Clarksburg, WV (which we visit regularly to see a relative). Quantities were good for a filling lunch; we did not have leftovers for a brown bag. Two small comments: (1) my husband would've preferred a more generous helping of the slaw to put on his sandwich; and (2) it would be great to have a menu option that is vegetarian, perhaps a platter with three or four of the side dishes -- or at least showing a separate price for the sides on the menu. Ambiance. (4.5/5). The restaurant is country cute, with clean, well-spaced tables. Many of the tables were occupied while we were there for lunch but it didn't feel crowded. A few patrons seemed "local", and acknowledged the owner who was sitting with some buddies at one of the tables. The restroom was well-maintained. Service (4.5/5). There was only one (efficient!) waitress, handling in-restaurant and take-out orders, delivering food and drinks, wiping down tables, etc. Despite how busy she was, we felt taken care of. Parking, in a town of Louisa lot behind the restaurant, was free and easy. We will return.

The meats here were very good - extremely tender with a nice smoky flavor. I was personally a huge fan of the spare ribs and my girlfriend loved the prime rib (which I have never seen at a BBQ place before!). Outdoor seating is also available. Ambience is very casual. Service was awesome. The people behind the counter were very helpful. They had some samples at the counter to try. They did not rush us and answered all our questions very well, describing the sides and how ordering worked. The beef brisket was heavenly. It was soo delicious. The best one I've had so far. Very juicy and tender. It melted in your mouth. The pulled pork and pork spare ribs were also good. The meat went well with the thick sauce which was my favorite. The house sausage that was spicy and had cheese was good too. The dirty rice was another favorite. Jalapeno mac & cheese had a kick and was good too. Buttermilk potato salad was mashed and had smooth texture (rather than the chunky version). Terlingua cole slaw and cornbread were nice too. The chopped brisket sandwich came with pickled red onions (or white ceviche onions). It had a lot of meat in it and was also delicious. Will definitely come back and try their desserts next time. Highly recommended.
