Classic barn made like new…read more My wife and I purchased a home that started its life as a Clydesdale barn in 1918. It was converted to a home many years later. Before moving in we had several projects that we wanted to tackle with refinishing the original hardwood floors being a big one. I've worked in commercial construction as a project manager for many years and was immediately at ease with Bill when he met me at the house to walk and talk through the project. He's confident, professional, and honest. Bill offered insight from experience and value added options rather than simple upsells. We agreed on a schedule, a price, and signed an agreement for the work to be done. All said there was just over 2,450 square feet of number 2 red oak to be refinished. Several areas needed extra attention due to damage from decades of neglect, animal urine, and settling. Bill's guys, like him, were confident, experienced, and highly skilled. They clearly communicated and coordinated with me and knocked out the work quicker than we had planned. The house was finished in a week and half from start to finish. Bill and his team utilize a Swedish finish for the floors they install and refinish. We wanted to brighten the house up and took Bill's advice of a natural (clear) finish. The floors turned out amazing with a slightly warm matte finish. An appreciated suggestion was also the addition of flush mount air vents of the same wood species. They add a beautiful touch and clean up the rooms even further. A word on scheduling...the Swedish finish is incredibly durable and beautiful, but it may be one of the most intense fumes I've ever experienced in construction. Know ahead that being in the house when the finish is applied is an absolute non starter and we would suggest, if you can coordinate it, to plan several days away after the last coat to allow it to safely off gas without being in the home. Bill gave great advice regarding airflow and heat to help encourage it along, but it's a real factor in the process to be aware of. All that said, we would highly recommend Willamette Hardwood Floors for any project you have at hand. You'll have beautiful results done by skilled tradesmen who show respect for you and your project every step of the way. Several before and after photos are included here for reference. She also requested to have an estimate of how much to replace it all. Jason follows up the next day with a quote to replace it all, and nothing mentioning the repair. I called him up and asked him about the repair quote and he said my wife didn't ask for that. He told me there was a miscommunication on my wife's part. I know what was discussed between him and her, since and I discussed what we wanted and she called me right after to let me know. I feel that Jason heard what he wanted and disregarded the rest. My wife says the only question asked was "if the door went to the garage." He was more interested in selling luxury vinyl. If there was any miscommunication, it is because Jason was focused on what he wanted, and not what we wanted. After talking more to Jason and him becoming more combative over my wife's "miscommunication" I told him we would look elsewhere. He said "please do" and hung up.

They were, and are fabulous, so of course I called them again. The owner called me within 3 minutes of sending a request for help! He showed up the next morning with another employee who assisted by immediately getting in the crawl space to check on the foundation and moisture barrier. Meanwhile, the owner assessed the problem, checked all the other down spouts around the house, and talked my son through taking the drain pipe down, a neat trick to assess bolt sizes, and how to counter the problem for the future. All the while offering calming comments and assorted helpful hints. Really, Duane, the owner, all employees and sub-contractors have been professional, congenial, diligent workers, and produce the results we have asked for. Great consistency. I whole-heartedly give 3 R's the highest recommendation possible.

Wow!! I am a…read moreperfectionist and very picky. I care about the little details. And I can tell you that the guys and crews at Apex Paint and Remodel really knocked it out of the park! I straight up photoshopped my house colors on and they helped me achieve my vision. From the consultation - Evan and Travis gave me a lot of their time, answered all my questions, and didn't make me feel rushed. I felt super heard and like they were there to help me understand! I chose a paint and remodel company because I have a 1930s craftsman home and wanted its beauty and character preserved and enhanced - I knew a regular paint company wouldn't accomplish that. Then came the actual painting. I think I had them try like 10 different swatches and I changed my mind half a dozen times up until the last minute. The crews (led by Jeromy, Richard, and Jason) were all incredibly patient, warm, and friendly. Even when I panicked over my bold choices halfway through the painting, they were calm and easygoing (while still doing diligent and quality work). The guys on the crews were painters and carpenters capable of repairs and rebuilding my wooden porch railing. I will honestly miss seeing the guys around because everyone was so nice! It feels like I have a brand new house and I am so in love! The neighbors have been oohing and aahing as well. After 4 weeks of trying to get my vents back I finally filed a criminal complaint with the local police. I also filed a complaint with the Oregon Construction Contractors Board (CCB) and found that as of 12/18/16 Arnold Carroll is running his business on a suspended license. The next day we rcvd. the estimate for painting the exterior of our one story home, which was far less than I anticipated. I gave them the go-ahead, and Santiago and his 2 helpers showed up the next week to get started. They cleaned the exterior on their first visit, did a good deal of exterior painting on visit 2, and finished up on the 3rd visit, slightly delayed because of weather.
