I don't think I've ever written a review before but I just have to because of how amazing this place is! Great customer service, they were so nice! They told me exactly what was wrong and explained everything to me in a way I could understand (i'm not good with cars). They let me know when something else was wrong, asked before fixing it, and let me know the price then and there. Speaking of, they have very fair pricing! Policies were posted so you know exactly what's up as well as some funny little posters and things that were amusing. Plus, it's in a convenient location. Definitely coming here from now on! read more

These guys are good and honest, they don't replace parts parts that do not need to be replaced. Great customer service and reasonable price. What impressed me the most is their honesty....I have been using their shop for last four years and their consistency is amazing . I own Ethiopian Restaurant couple block south of highland from their shop and that is convenient for me and my customers too. read more

Wilkerson Tire, Inc - Tires Near Me - Memphis, Tennessee

I used this shop all my years when studying at the university, it was very convenient because they were very close. These people are the most honest and wonderful people that I have ever meet as mechanics. When I moved away from Memphis I really missed this family. They helped me to keep my cars alive during my student years. Recently I was given an awesome van that did not start so I let my friend getting me into towing it someplace because it was closer...what a mistake..it seemed too expensive to pay 700 for a gas pump and 750 for the labor but I paid of course since I did not know better. I felt that something was wrong so I called Wilkerson to check how much would be the labor to replace the gas pump in that type of ford van and they told me $280 read more

My family has been using Wilkerson for several years, now. They are honest, and always give a good estimate of the price before doing the primary work. They are very good at explaining what the problem is and the options I have for correcting it (including lower-cost workarounds, if available). They get our highest recommendation! read more

After agreeing for work to be done on car's battery, additional unauthorized work done; car has additional damage due to faulty repairs. Overcharged. Called and spoke with Owner Josh on Monday, Dec. 1 at 9AM for repairs due to dead Toyota RAV4 4 Cylinder car- we stated the issue was most likely due to battery. Agreed to have car towed to shop and inspected to repair BATTERY. NO mention of other work or charges. After a day of work, was called and told that work was done and car was running fine. Approximately an hour later Josh then called back to state that the car was now "bogged down" and running "kinda funny" and that there would need to be more work done. The car had no major issues and in fact was running fine prior to battery dying (full inspection with Oil change in November). After 2 more days total in the shop, the technicians still could not find the issue and told me to pick up my car on the afternoon of Wednesday, Dec 3. The car has an extreme stall when pressing gas and almost stalls out before accelerating; in fact, after we took the car from shop it died in traffic due to stalling out. To my surprise, Josh had also taken liberty to replace spark plugs and charged an extra 150 dollars which had not been agreed upon. Josh attempted to state that we needed an oil and filter change as well, which was not accurate as we had the car inspected by the maintenance schedule and it had been approx. 750 miles since last oil and filter change. By this point we were suspicious of malicious intent and requested the return of the old spark plugs. The shop could only provide a couple of the replaced plugs and stated that they had misplaced the rest. We intend to have the plugs inspected by a competent mechanic whom we trust. Josh also charged an extra 45 dollar diagnostic as well as another hitherto unmentioned 5% surcharge for "Miscellaneous" which he stated is a standard fee most mechanics charge. Upon questioning, would not give mention of what parts cost a flat percentage of total bill, as opposed to a set fee. After disputing this fee the owner stated that I was "talking nonsense" and had "no idea what the profession's standards are" and that the surcharge is standard. The total amount was approx 440 Dollars, and the issue is much worse. I believe the business practices employed at Wilkerson Tire, Inc. were both deceptive and unfair to the consumer. read more

This a family owned and operated business. These guys are honest hardworking Americans. They have always been willing to work with me and are very transparent with what work needs to be done. Their prices are fair and their work is damn good. As a mechanic myself, they are the only shop I trust with any of my vehicles. read more

We have used Wilkerson to maintain an old Toyota Echo that my stepson drives. They have been competent and fair. And, I can walk home after dropping off the car- it is about 4 blocks from my house. read more

As I'm typing this review of Wilkerson Tire I'm also sitting in the waiting area. My car isn't ready yet but I'm going to write the review anyway because I'm a very long time customer who already knows what this experience will be like. Over 10 years of repairs being done at a fair price....yeah, that's a 5 star rating I'd say. At least I'm a customer unlike the woman who has written the other review on here. Since 1997 I've exclusively brought my car here. Back then it was a 1990 Saab and if you want to look up the performance review of the Saab back then you'll get an idea of how much I was spending on repairs. Until Wilkerson became the garage of my choice I would hear all about the extra cost of repairing European cars(beware of Frans). The amount I would pay the mechanic to fix my car was astronomical but it made sense to me because of it being an import. Then a friend told me to try Wilkerson. WOW!!! The cost of repairs once I started going to Wilkerson declined incredibly! After that I started driving a 1980 Volvo. On one occasion the car broke down in cordova and I had no choice but to pull into the closest garage. What the problem was basically the wheels were completely locked up. Forgive me but I can't remember the exact diagnosis, what I do remember is the quote I got at this place. Again it made.sense to me but just in case I called Wilkerson Tire to ask them the cost. It was q difference of almost $400 dollars, $375.00 plus labor to be exact. It actually saved me money to have the car towed from cordova to highland and pay for Wilkerson to fix it!!! It's fairness and honesty that's saved me so much money bringing my cars to Wilkerson. This is a family run business and not one time have I ever been disappointed about choosing Wilkerson to fix my car. If you don't trust my review then consider the two 5 out of 5 reviews Wilkerson has on cartalk.com. read more

Their lack of quality almost caused 4 wrecks, potentially killing any of the people involved. The one tire, costing almost a grand, that Wilkerson Tire supposedly fixed on my boyfriends large truck, came completely off while driving and flew down an incredibly busy residential street. Fortunately, no one was hurt and nothing was damaged, except for the truck, of course. Not only did Wilkerson Tire Inc refuse to repair the damage on the truck, but they even proceeded to deny any responsibility for the tire flying off. It had been two months since we originally took it to their shop, however, this truck is rarely used and only for very short distances. There's maybe been a few hundred miles driven this year. In my past experience with a different shop, I had returned my vehicle about six months after the original repair and they gladly fixed their mistake without any charge. After the accident with the truck, we called and quoted other repair shops, sought advice from mechanically educated friends, and they all agreed that it was Wilkerson Tire's fault. Needless to say, the truck will be taken elsewhere to be repaired correctly. I would highly recommend going somewhere more experienced. (Though they do claim to have 50 years experience...I'm strongly assuming that's in terrible work and poor customer service.) Go to a highly rated or referred mechanic and get a guarantee for the work done, not only for your wallet, but for the safety of you and your loved ones. This place infuriates me. They caused more problems than we even started with. read more

I will never take my car anywhere else but Wilkerson Tire! I've been taking my car here since I moved around the corner from their shop 5 years ago. They're a family business and they've always been honest, fair, and affordable. They do quick and quality work. They explain all of your options to you and let you know what needs to be done right away and what can wait. Since I live so close by, Josh Wilkerson even offers to drive me to and from my house while I wait for work to be completed on my car. He has even texted my number directly from his personal phone after doing repair work to make sure that everything is working properly and that I'm safe. I could never ask for a kinder, friendlier, or more honest staff of people to take care of my car. They genuinely seem to care about you more than your money and that is so hard to find nowadays. I don't know what I'll ever do if I move away. Thanks SO SO much to Wilkerson for everything you do! I would recommend them to anyone. :) read more
