I recently had a window repaired by Wilke Window and Door of Shiloh, IL I have no complaint on the quality of the service, however their pricing on labor is extremely outrageously high and very overpriced. Wilke charges $145, to give an estimate. Which consisted of a technician measuring the broken window and taking pictures. The total time spent at this service call was 15 minutes. This has to be pre-paid or they will not come out. They then give you an estimate for materials and service, and 1/2 of that needs to be paid in advance before they will order the materials and schedule a repair. The window replacement took a total of 1 hour, which consisted of removing the lower broken double hung window, and replacing it with a new one. Labor on this 1 hour was $243 So total labor for 1 broken window, total time spent, including two service calls was 1 Hour and 15 minutes. Total labor was $398 I tried to talk to the service manager about this, and he said basically that, it is what it is. I hope to never have to use them again. read more

For those of you who inquired if this was rectified from over a year and a half ago.... The answer is no. Windows still are audible during high wind days or storms. It was also discovered that Anderson window factory sent many of the windows with no weatherproofing material. The Anderson rep was here when Wilke sent their service techs to install weatherproofing while watching a you tube video on how to install. Nice! We are seeking counsel if our builder cannot get Wilke and Anderson to step up. Yes , it has been ongoing for over 1.5 years. Save yourself by not working with Wilke and think hard about purchasing Anderson products. read more

We ordered interior doors the beginning of August. It took two weeks to hear anything from Rhett our salesman in which I called him. We went ahead and placed our order on August 13th. He said it would be 4-6 weeks before they would arrive. Fast forward today the doors are ready for pick but one door isn't ready and they don't know when it will arrive. They did nothing to make it right or offer any type of discount. The staff is very unhelpful and lazy. Never once did they try to contact me and update me on what's going on. I would never buy anything from them again or recommend them to anyone. Terrible customer service and company. read more

Terrible experience. We ordered a patio door early December 2024. We were told it would be 8 weeks for install. The door was delivered to Wilke early February and was told an installer would call. Installer never called. We kept calling Wilke to inquire and finally a different installer called to schedule a time. The door was finally installed early April. The install was very sloppy. The door does not fit properly, door section are not plum and the door doesn't close correctly. They left caulking all over the trim and ripped the screen on the adjacent window. The installers were supposed to have the screen fixed but we were never contacted. We had to call and talk to someone about the issues. Someone is supposed to come back on their time frame to fix the problems. Extremely disappointed and this never should have had to take this much effort on our part. read more

I would not recommend Wilke. They won't come to your house to assess what's might be going on without charging a service fee. There are other local servicers who do not charge a service fee for doing nothing. Also, I called Wilke to address an issue with a leaking window. The tech did the bare minimum and only re-caulked the part of the window where the old caulk had failed. Subsequently, the old caulk started to fail right where the old met the new. For the amount of the service charge, Wilke should have removed the old caulk, cleaned the area, and re-caulked the entire window. Now I'm doing the work they should have done and having to replace the rotted wood framing around the window to boot. When I conveyed all of this to Wilke, they offered no remedy. read more

I stand by my review and I'll add the other fact that when the second glass was added they did nit bother to wipe off the suction mark from the device used to pull it into place so now I have a large circle that is noticeable and not able to be reached without an additional cost. Of course owner will try to do a rebuttal just another reason to find a business that interacts with customers with integrity. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Wilke Window & Door for close to 20 yrs., I believe in shopping local and supporting locally owned business whenever I can. However, my most recent repair on some windows, where tilt pins needed to be replaced, I was SHOCKED to see Service Labor costs of $250.00 ! That's right $250.00!, Actually the Service Labor cost were at $387.00, but I guess someone thought that was a bit high, how $250.00 sounds any better is beyond me. The parts were under $20.00 and the workers w/ probably only here for 30 minutes, so again how that calculates to $250.00 in labor cost in question. I do understand having to pay your workers a fair wage, cost of parts, freights, etc., but I find this ridiculous. I do have future window work that will need to be done at my home, and because of this experience I will be looking elsewhere for services, or at the very least pay much more attention to your Service Costs. In contrast to my experience with other potential window vendors, WW was low-pressure, and accommodated my request to break up the estimate for replacement windows into three parts. Therese H. and I saw the windows on the north side were still in good shape, so decided to proceed with two of the three estimates, which included a south-facing bay window and a west-facing patio door. Like most construction-related service providers these days, there was a delay, the windows taking approx. 4.5 months from order to installation. The installers did a fine job, completing the work in two days, with minimal mess. The old Andersen windows held up well for 48 years. But the new ones are even better, with energy-efficient glass that cuts down on heat transmission, a big deal to me on the south and west sides. If there's one thing I'd improve about WW&D, it would be communication. From time of order, I received no update until I sent an e-mail several weeks after projected delivery date asking for a new estimate of when the windows would be stained-to-order and delivered. A reply came soon that the installer would be calling me soon, which indeed turned out to be true. But that was the last time I heard from WW&D. On the one hand, I can appreciate how short-staffed businesses might be doing all they can just to get orders taken and fulfilled. On the other hand, just a few additional notes or calls would do a lot to instill confidence and engender trust by the customer, for example, a note to call the customer when the estimated delivery date has passed with an update, and a follow-up customer-satisfaction-after-completion note or call. In the end, the windows seem reasonably high-quality with only two noticeable flaws. I think the value and low-pressure sales approach of WW&D makes it a business worth considering for your replacement windows. read more

I received a call from Tyler at Wilke this morning. He apologized for the lack of communication on their part. Hopefully the new installers do a better job communicating with us. Last October we decided to replace our patio door. Three of our friends recommended Wilke. We went down to their Shiloh location. Our salesman did a great job explaining our options so we scheduled having someone come out to give us a bid. After getting the bid we were satisfied that Wilke would be where we purchased our new door. They told us it would be in around late January or early February. We gave them our deposit and waited I contacted them in late January and they told me to contact them again in late March or early April. I contacted them again in mid April and they told me the installer would give me a call. It is now May 8th and I have yet to hear from the installer and I have contacted Wilke multiple times in the last two weeks and they keep telling me the installer will call me back. I wish I had read the other reviews on Yelp before we gave Wilke any money. It appears that we aren't the only ones who have had issues get what we paid for. I will probably be contacting the BBB soon to see what they can do to help. read more

I visited this business on a Friday afternoon about 25 minutes before closing and 4 employees there all seemed to be very intent on watching the clock and going home; waiting on me appeared to be an inconvenience. I was the only customer in the store and was very well organized with door measurements and exactly what I wanted. I was told it would take 3-4 months to order a replacement door for my home for the entry from the house to the attached garage! I did not need anything special just a simple metal door and frame that meets O'Fallon IL's strict codes. I was told an estimator would contact me on Monday to arrange to come out to my house and verify measurements and exact materials needed for the project. A full week later...no contact with the company. They sell high quality Anderson Windows and Doors, so if they installed them in your home you probably are happy, however they appear to only want to work with contractors who make bulk purchases and not deal with small but necessary repairs for residential customers. I only rated them this high because the fantastic Anderson product they sell. We decided to go with their competition based in Troy IL. read more

Granted some of them were outside bargain and it was very hot today, he assisted with getting exactly what I was looking for! I also found great Bargain Barn kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Lynn was willing to help with future layout by adding a few more. Bill was also helping with determining stock of some of my items. Such a team effort!! Posting for anyone interested in having new windows installed. Last year I had asked for recommendations and Wilke Windows & Doors was highly recommended. I'm not sure what changed with them but I would not recommend them at all. Little bit of a rant, so I apologize for the length. We hired them last September to install a picture window. I was told in December it was in and the installation department would call to schedule. They never called. I didn't think anything of it due to the holidays but come mid January, still no call. When I called, they had no idea and said they'd research and be back with me. Again no call. After numerous calls that turned into Groundhog day conversations, the window was installed late February 2023. Unfortunately the installers completely broke the window frame. They said they'd order a replacement and be able to fix it within 2 weeks. Nope! After multiple calls, tears, and anger, they finally installed a new frame today, 2 months later. As true to how things have gone with Wilke, they didn't provide the installer with the complete frame so he had to "finagle" the job with leftover boards he had in his truck. It's not perfect but it's done. At this point, I guess I'll take it. I hope this is a fluke as we prefer to support local businesses, but I will never use Wilke again. read more

My husband and I purchased new kitchen cabinets and countertops thru Wilke. Lindsey Shomaker was our designer and go to gal for the project. She was very professional and followed thru on everything. Keith and John were our installers. They did an excellent job on the cabinet install and hooking up the sink, dishwasher and disposal. They went above and beyond on some plumbing that was unexpected. Dealing w/Keith, Lindsay and John made the whole experience very pleasant. The Countertop installers were also very good and professional. Would use and recommend Wilke for cabinet installs. We purchased some new door locks from Wilke Window and Door a few months back and are very happy with our purchases. Being a first time home owner we had not had to go through the process of buying locks before and we weren't aware of all the different styles of locks currently on the market. The representatives in the store were very accommodating and helpful as we navigated the choices. Eventually we settled on a lock that was dependable and matched up well to our front door and other exterior doors of our home. The customer service was great and we will definitely travel back to Wilke Window and Door should we ever need to any new windows or doors for our home. read more

We ordered new exterior doors from Wilke in July of 2020 and it's now January of 2021 and the job is not yet complete. Wilke finally got around to installing our doors in December but they had mis-measured two of the entrance ways which required them to order/paint additional pieces. Wilke did send an apology note citing delays, the pandemic, and challenging business conditions but when the real problem is a failure to communicate I don't see how any of these excuses are really relevant or acceptable. We were told we would have our new doors in 6-8 weeks and we can understand that there would be delays but if is wasn't for me reaching out every two weeks to get updates, I'm sure we still wouldn't have had any service and we'd still be wondering where our doors are. Despite me reaching out every other week, we still weren't provided explanations or resolutions but were constantly told they would check and they would rarely follow up. I recommend not using Wilke for poor professionalism and terrible communication. read more

Bought kitchen cabinets for old original pantry area. The cabinetry had slide out shelves, very useful because the cabinet was deep. Cabinet started falling apart very soon after purchase. They eventually handed me stationary shelves to replace the crap I paid full price for. Thanks for nothing. Don't bother. read more

We have a 100-year-old house that had settled over the years, and a transom and cool window above our old door that we didn't want to lose. For years, we've been trying to find a way to replace our old door in a way that accommodated our entryway's idiosyncrasies without having to spend a fortune. Someone suggested Wilke, and we gave it a shot. On two separate visits to the showroom in Fenton, we were helped by two different sales people, who made good suggestions. We were visited shortly thereafter by George Papproth, who guided us through some solutions. We ordered and, in a few short weeks, got our door installed by Bruce, who worked some miracles to make it look seamless. We noticed immediately that our house is so much warmer with our new door, and it looks beautiful! We are grateful for their efforts. Highly recommend Wilke! read more

They were not willing to do a quote for a custom door! The only way they would even consider helping would be if I paid to have it installed as well as paid to have a steel frame removed from the concrete foundation and a new one installed. Way to upsell customers. read more

Yesterday morning I went into the Fenton location (737 Gravois Road Fenton, MO 63026) to discuss and plan windows for a 3444 sq foot home and greenhouse that is going to be built. Unfortunately I tried to discuss my plans and what I needed for windows and doors with Pat Cavin. Most of the conversations where hostile and far from helpful but below is a summaryl: Prior to showing him the plans I told him it was a steel home that has an open truss plan and the engineer is waiting for the sizes and information on the windows and doors. The open truss plan allowed the ends to be open for a wall of glass. His attitude was "he knew what this system was." With this being said I then tried to show him the greenhouse side of the plan. He immediately said I in a very angry and hostile voice, there are no beams, and there are no framed openings for anything. I cannot help you! I then pointed out that the whole wall is windows and we need to figure sizes to fill it. Again, I can't help you! I then asked if he did new construction, and he said yes. I then tried to explain that the open system and he was angrier. After all, how could a woman know something more than a man! Anyway, I told him as we picked sizes, and then we could frame it in. Finally when he refused to help I said how large of a window (picture) could he make? He said he can make any size. So then give me a price for a vinyl 10 x 10. He said now? Yes I replied. That really pissed him off. So then he had to storm to his computer and after a few minutes he said can't do that size. Okay, so what about a 8x8? Same thing-he wasn't going to explain or help. Finally, I the customer (not the window professional) had to ask is it because the vinyl cannot support that size. He said I guess so. So then I asked "what is the largest size can you do." He finally came up with a 6 x 6. So then I asked for him to print that with the price and he said no. I asked why and he said that he would need things like a name, the address of the home (such hard questions). So I said ok. Boy that really made him mad; not that he wasn't already on the verge of tearing up my paperwork, but now he had to work and help me more. So I gave him the info only for him to print out order for the info/name of "Union." I then asked for his business card which he reluctantly gave. This is the short of it. I then went next door to the store that you have and started looking at what Wilke can offer since Pat wasn't going to show me anything. It was amazing how friendly the employee was that worded on that side. He actually offered to help me, even though he was helping others. I also watched, while trying to work with Pat, one of the other co-associates on how helpful and friendly he was with another customer that was also building a home. So I am going to say, "You have a bad apple in the bunch!" Pat represented Wilke Window and Door and you lost my businesses. Not only do I rehab homes, but this project in Union is a double home that is mostly made of windows and some doors. You might tell Pat that when I walked into two other window and door businesses and they could hardly wait for me to give them the rough plans. One of the companies made several copies and he then started drawing and figuring. He explained what windows and doors that I would want for this job and why. Because of his attitude I plan on doing all of my current and future business. I sincerely hope that Pat Cavin (if that was his name) is removed and placed in a job where he doesn't talk to customers (especially the female customers) and in a job that he has some knowledge of the product or service. read more

We had Wilke put cabinets in our kitchen and bathroom when it was built. Not only did they misrepresent the quality of the cabinets (told it was wood veneer but it was wallpaper), but their after-the-sale customer service is poor (and, they are belligerent) at best. Their "lifetime guarantee" seems to only apply until the product leaves the store. We will never use them again and don't recommend them. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! Took 3 weeks for someone to come out - when he finally came out he said he would mail an estimate in a 7-10 days (which seemed ridiculously long!). 14 days never received any estimate. Called and was told that service guy was no longer working there and they would need to send someone out again!
