Satisfied with service back in August 2024. Garage remote opener started failing in October. Called service and paid $240 for new wheels and a diagnosis to remove LED bulbs. LED Bulbs removed and problem persisted. Continued to try to get Tom to come back out. Finally did in January. Replaced the Circuit Board for $340 and the problem still persisted. Since then, he's not come out to help. The problem happens as the sun has set. I paid $340 for a circuit board that has done nothing and wasted a ton of time continuing to follow up and ask that he come back out. Tom will not simply tell me a day that works for him. Warned him last week that if he didn't respond I would simply move on. Wasted at least $340 and a lot of time. read more

I don't write many reviews but I felt it is important for everyone to understand what to expect. - The Wright Door Company has no receptionists, so when you are calling, you are reaching their technicians directly. Sounds fine until you think about it -- they are on a job site, they have no notes, no client management system, etc. So, what I experienced is forgotten orders, lost info, they never know who they are taking to, they promise to call back and "forget" etc. In other words, chaos. - I ordered two new garage doors from Dan. Have you ever been to a restaurant and the waiter wouldn't write down the order for the table -- they insist that they have all of the details of everything? Then, the order is inevitably messed up? That is exactly what happened. The garage door model, color, windows, etc, Dan said he's "Got It" in his memory banks. I wasn't comfortable with that, so I asked him to write it down, and he scratched it on another work order for a repair. Fast forward 3 months, and the door was never even ordered. Upon learning that, I informed them that Overhead Door Company was going to get my order -- not WDC. - The Technician Tom -- looks like a bomb exploded in his van. Parts and junk everywhere. It reflects in his work and his lack of organization. - Dan and Tom installed two new openers. Fast, but ceiling wire staples were all over the garage floor (flat tire, anyone?), and I had to install one of the door lights myself after they left, and also had to adjust the infrared sights, and set up the opener menu. Not exactly 100% complete. In conclusion, use at your own risk. Im going to try my luck somewhere else in the future. read more

Mind you, both of these companies have worked on our garage door in the past!! Called The Wright Door based on Yelp reviews and was not disappointed. Called on Friday and they arranged to have someone out the next day. Dan arrived, reviewed our situation and gave recommendations. We needed time to discuss and go through our options. He was kind enough to suggest it is easy and cheap enough for me to fix on my own, rather then just offering to fix it himself for extra cash. The Wright Door's service is good, but one thing is worst is the price, because day before I try to setup an appointment online with The Wright Door, I ask them how much they charged the rate of the labor and they told me whatever the technician came and found out what's the issue of my garage door, if simple and not need to replace any parts, only cost $75 and told me don't charge trip fee too, but if need to replace any parts then they will charged around $250 to $300. So, I let them to fix my garage door, because the price they told me was really reasonable. But after the technician finish the job in 30 to 45 minutes, and he write me a receipt for $175. I asked how come charged me $175, the technician told me $75 for the trip and $100 for the labor. I already contacted The Wright Door, and they will message me next day after they see the document. But 2 weeks now and I still don't hear any response from them. I can say they were not honest at all. read more

My family and I had the best experience with The Wright Door today (9-7-23). Recently my grandmother's garage door stopped working. It's electronic, so the outside keypad and the garage door openers were no longer working, trapping my grandma's car inside the garage. There also isn't a side entrance to the garage, so the only way in or out is the garage door or breaking this tiny window on the side and falling about 8'. My grandma is also 73, so trying to use the emergency opening key/string thing 7' above the ground was definitely out of the question. I'm 29, but also short and terrified of heights, so I really, really wasn't looking forward to getting on a ladder and trying to tinker with this broken mechanism and figure out what was wrong. I found The Wright Door on yelp, called the number and was able to set up an appointment for the same day within 3 hours! I cannot remember the man's name I spoke to (I'm so sorry!) but he was so nice on the phone and was really patient when I poorly tried to explain the problem with the garage door. I'm not at all mechanically savvy if you couldn't tell. He even called when he was 20 minutes away, giving an update. When he showed up, he was extremely nice and personable and was able to reset the garage door, get both garage door openers working, and even showed my mom and I how to release the emergency mechanism in case this happens again. When we asked how much the fix would cost, he said nothing! Nothing! Since it was so simple. We offered to pay for his time and coming out to our home in St. Louis (city), but he wouldn't hear of it. He was so knowledgeable and incredibly kind, and even told us that our current garage door was actually a foot too small for the makeshift garage the previous owners put up. When asked if we needed to change out the door or if that was something he would do, he said that since the door accomplishes what it's supposed to which is open and close from the ground up, without leaving an opening, the mismatched size wasn't an issue. I really appreciated how he could have gone for the upsell or advised us to make an additional purchase, especially after my family and I were so thankful for him fixing our garage door for free, but instead he was honest and looked out for our needs as the consumer. I cannot say enough good things about this entire experience! The only thing I wish I could remember was the man's name, because he was absolutely wonderful. Polite, pleasant, knowledgeable, and honest. If we ever have any issues with our garage in the future, we won't hesitate to call again. I don't exactly have a ton of garage-owning homeowner friends, but if you're looking at this review because your garage is having problems, call him! I have lurked on yelp for a long time, but this was the first experience that I HAD to write a review for, so if it sounds like I'm gushing about a garage repair service, you're right. This week we were have problems with our garage door opening and closing. We were anticipating that we would need a new door because several years ago, "XYZ company" said it was on it's last leg. They gave us some pricing (approx $3,000 and up..not including a new opener). As we were not ready to buy a door, they installed a bar across the inside of the door and told us it would "buy time" for our door. After looking through the recommendations, we decided to call "The Wright Door Company", and so glad we did!!! They were quick to respond and came out the same day. After looking at our opener, the technician said we need to replace it (old one was about 15 years old). Also installing new rollers would help with the noise and jerkiness upon opening and closing. Then asked for a bid for a new door, as XYZ company said it would need replacing. He said our our door was in good shape and there is no need to buy a new one! Whew, what a relief! Contacted Wright Door and left a message about needing a repair on our 1/2 HP garage door sprocket drive, which had sheared off. Called back after no reply and talked to Dan who apologized for not returning my call. Dan advised they could work me in the schedule after completing a job in Fenton. After confirming the drive sprocket did need to be replaced and that the door spring needed to be adjusted, Dan also recommended that we have our metal door rollers replaced, which would greatly reduce the operating noise. Work was completed and I was pleased with both the door operation and the reduction in operating noise.
