Been coming here for over 10years- I generally need 4-5 new suits a year for my work and they always nail the fit- Roberto understand a what I'm going for as fashion trends evolve- he has a great breadth of knowledge to tailor for what one is asking for. Also they can turn items around faster then most tailors- I've had pinch hits where I needed elaborate suite work and they have been able to turn items around faster around in 3-4 day upon request - most other tailors require a week min if not longer. Nothing short of miraculous! I had a sweater I wore once and got caught on something - it left a nice sized hole - I knew going in it was nearly impossible to fix. I appreciated the honesty when I was told they couldn't guarantee it would look okay but I wanted to give it a try. It was cashmere. When I got it back I couldn't even find where the hole was. Well, I am glad I waited a few to write this review, rather than rushing to Yelp on my way home. Scene: heavily pregnant woman brings maid of honor dress to Wilfred's for help to not look absurd on her best friend's wedding day. What does she want? Since new bodies aren't available, the goal is to not be squeezed to death by a dress that should have fit. Wilfred's advises heavily pregnant woman to return 10 days before the wedding, in case she grows some more. (She did.) Heavily pregnant woman returns to Wilfred's at the designated date. She can still zip up the dress on her own, barely. Everyone acknowledges that not much can be done, since there's not a huge amount of fabric to let out, but heavily pregnant woman hopes they can at least smooth out the lumps and bumps. Heavily pregnant woman picks up dress three days before the wedding. It takes two men to barely zip it up. She forks over a hundred dollars and tries not to cry and scream. On the wedding day, heavily pregnant woman recruits a handful of bridesmaids to shove her into the dress. Everyone holds their breath. She gives them permission to do what they must. Dress zips up in less than two seconds. She must have been having a particularly pregnant day when she picked up the dress. Does she know what she spent 100 bucks for? Not really. Did her dress explode on her best friend's wedding day? No. Mission accomplished. read more

Wilfred Rosario passed away in 2015 unexpectedly. It was and is tragic. I was at his old store the day after this happened, having lugged a bunch of things that needed tailoring work and was told by his staff that they were no longer taking in new items that needed tailoring. I was like ZOMG. The news struck me like a bolt of lightning. What am I going to do now? And where am I going to get things I need tailored ? I could easily bring anything and Wilfred's guys were on hand to make my clothes look fantastic. Things I found on sale, at sample sales, etc. OMG. Now what? Fast forward to 2017 : Wilfred's legacy lives on. The old crew is still here, and the business is now run by his daughter. The old crew did most of the work, and they are still around, so quality is still the same. I bring stuff regularly and it turns out well, as it did when Wilfred was still with us. The old guy ( name escapes me) who worked with Wilfred for years, is still there, and he makes the judgement calls on what needs to be done and takes measurements etc. I personally haven't noticed much of a difference, in quality after his passing but what I've taken in to have done is nothing super major, but wouldn't hesitate to do so. The folks that did all the work are still there, as is the old guy who basically apprenticed with Wilfred for years. ( if I am not mistaken) Also at the same location is Kamaal Kadri's bespoke tailoring "atelier", which exists at this location, as it did in Wilfred previous locations, on 5th Avenue and W23rd street. Yes, we go way back. I miss Wilfred. Gone but not forgotten. read more

One of the finest tailors I have been to. They are professional, patient, and pay great attention to detail. Although they require payment upfront, this was not an issue as they will work with you how many times necessary, to make sure you are satisfied. I personally required a difficult procedure done on my shoulders, which was too large and created divots. Although it required a couple coming backs, the end result was fantastic. This place is on the expensive side, but their work reflects this, and I would advise anyone to stop by, who are either in need of simple quality tailoring, or complex tailoring solutions that only top-end places such as Wilfred's Tailoring can handle. read more

Wilfred's is the best, specifically, Manny is an amazing tailor. I have taken brands from Banana Republic to Theory, cocktail dresses to suits, and Manny works his magic on all of them. I have used many tailors in the past but Wilfred's is the best. It is pricier than some other options in Manhattan, but definitely worth it. I have gone to other tailors in a pinch when I can't make it to Wilfred's, but the 1-2 times I did that, I ended up paying double because the work was so poor that I just brought them to Manny for him to fix the alterations.
