To my understanding, this park connects to another one, but we didn't check the other side out. It seemed to be well maintained overall. The bathrooms were clean and kept up, the park and pavilions were in good condition overall, and there was no major construction or anything going on which was nice. Someone was setting up for a birthday party or function of some sort, so we left a little earlier than planned, but you could definitely spend a decent amount of time here and just relax and enjoy the quiet. There are views of the river over the bridge and a bunch of different trails one could take. My clients enjoyed the little free library that many of the parks around here have. It's to the left, right off the main parking lot when you drive in. We borrowed a few books and now we can return some one day to this location and others. Overall, everyone had a great time and we would definitely come back here for book club or just to walk around in the fresh air again.

There are 2-3 trails around the park but a bit rugged, so I recommend going when there's plenty of daylight. Parking spots are plenty and the park is pet-friendly. There was a bald eagle flying above his beat. Kayakers down below had beached themselves on a sandbar in the middle of the river. A guitarist was jamming and kids were playing in the Sun. The playground is broken up between a set for 2-5 year olds and 5+ year olds. The bigger kid section of the playground goes up pretty high and my mama heart gets so nervous because my two year old gets curious and wants to follow the big kids up there. I haven't quite learned how not to obsessively hover at the park as a mother. There are also a few swing sets - one traditional set and another for infants/toddlers. Other elements of this park include a dog run area, tennis courts, and a baseball field. Everything is seemingly well maintained and the bathroom seems to be pretty clean.

If you visit from outside of Woodstock, please consider swinging by a Woodstock business on Main St so that your sales taxes can partially support the upkeep of this terrific local canine treasure. Lots to do here with separate party areas for big and small dogs, in case you're one of those who doesn't like to mix it up. You'll probably have plenty of company at this popular hangout. And don't stay away even if you leave your dogs at home, since there's a nice 4-5 miles of trails to bike, run, or walk. Turtle Back is a nice 4+ mile loop with plenty of hills and advanced jumps etc for those inclined. Add in Red Baron for an extra mile and more black diamond bike ramp fun. In case you find yourself with nowhere to go during Oct-Dec hunting season with Allatoona Creek Park trails closed, come here as it stays open during those times. Spiffy new paved parking spaces greet you, with a practice bike ramp area, playground, and picnic tables and restrooms under a pavilion. It's a modern traveler's paradise. Well maybe.
