The focus is on well-socialized dogs and the dogs interact freely with each other. The premises is clean and well organized. There's lots of room for dogs to play both indoors and out, but, if your dog is like my little guy and gets tired from bossing the big dogs around, your dog can have quiet time on a blanket in the business office part of the facility. They also do an excellent job when I have my dog groomed or his nails clipped. I do not hesitate to rate this business highly!

Cara is about a year and a half old, energetic, loving and excitable husky mix (rescue) and they left her outside on hot gravel for almost FIVE straight hours in near 30-degree weather. We had to take her to the vet to get her emergency care and thanks to the prolonged exposure to the heat and the chemicals in the yard, she was in significant pain and discomfort. Now she's on a lengthy round of pain killers, steroids, antibiotics and daily antiseptic foot baths and lotions. She can't go out to walk or play and she's miserable. For a beautifully good-natured dog to go through this (or any dog!) is heartbreaking. We contacted Black Collar Society to explain what happened and their answer was "she had the freedom to come inside if she chose to". What?! They're suggesting that a a dog who is still pretty much a puppy, regulate herself in 30-degree heat? That's like giving a child unlimited access to junk food and thinking "yeah, they'll stop when they've had enough". Some decisions cannot be left to be made by those incapable of making them. Why let them outside, unmonitored on hot gravel for prolonged periods in the first place? Why wouldn't they ensure that the dogs in their "care" are not PUT in a position to experience pain and discomfort in the first place? When asked how many people tend to the dogs, they didn't answer. There seems to be no system to monitor the dogs either. Surely someone would have noticed this dog was outside for five straight hours and didn't come in? The daycare that Cara usually attends (and what a mistake it was to go elsewhere, but they were really booked up) monitors the dogs, they bring them in and out, they CARE for them while they're there. They have grass in the yard. They don't just leave them to their own devices and expect that dog will make the right choice for their own welfare. I wouldn't recommend this kennel to anyone for any reason. Incredibly disappointing.

I will add that our cat is sixteen years old and on three medications a day. Marina gave the cat his required medication with no problems what so ever. Krista and her family will never know the impact she has had on our life and how much she meant to Koda. If you want the perfect family to watch your dog, then you have found it here. Koda had been having trouble for a couple days and when krista came in the room she perked right up and wagged her tail and bayed as if she wasn't sick. Upon our return, we were very pleased to see that Poppi was perfectly happy with Susan; she was happy to see us but not over the top like it has been in the past. Poppi even whimpered when Susan left...which says a lot . Susan is perfectly competent to handle dogs, and she has a definite connection with them. She is 100% there for the dogs. We would recommend her to anyone hoping for undivided attention for their dog.

I just saw the police break the windows of a Pooches in the Park van in Leichhardt. Two big brown…read moredogs were taken out and in a bad way. They had been locked in the Pooches in the Park van all day. The owners of the dogs were there and when the Pooches in the Park owners were called, they seemed to think it was a joke and took their time in arriving back at the van. However, by this time, the police had broken the windows and the dogs were on the way to an emergency vet hospital. This is appalling behaviour and this is not the first time, as a neighbour, I have seen dogs locked in this van. The last time I confronted the owners about locking dogs in the van and they told me to 'mind my own business'. Stay away if you love you dog....
