I like how a range of estimates for costs are given up front so that informed decisions can be made. All of our cats have received the best care. The staff genuinely cares for our cats and they can pick up on it. One of our cats, Tika, who used to freak out when going to the vet, actually likes going there and seeing the vet and the staff. Last year on Family Day, one of our cats had to be put down due to an illness that could not be treated or cured. Nikita was kept comfortable in every possible way and the staff's compassion was above and beyond anything I have ever experienced before. (We even got a sympathy card in the mail signed by everyone) They let us spend all the time we needed with Nikita beforehand, allowed us to wait a few days to pay as well as kept the carrier for a week, so we didn't have to go home with it so soon. The ceramic paw-print memorials are just beautiful. Thank you, Heartland, for continuing to provide such good care to our cats and us too!

Our dog Ivar has been to other daycares and always came home cranky, moody and when it came time to drop off... he didn't want to go. With Central Bark, he doesn't even hesitate, and he comes home happy, tired, and excited to go back! We recently used their overnight boarding services while we were out of town getting married and I felt silly for even worrying the slightest that he would be safe and have good time. I got multiple updates everyday (photos and Kim answered all my questions), I actually felt bad for picking Ivar up and ruining his weekend of fun!

Whenever he sees their van pull up, he is ready to just jump in so he can be wisked off to his spa for his holiday. I never ever have to worry about him, as they treat him like one of their own. This Kennel is highly recommended for short or long term stays. They are clean, and have a lot of space for off lease entertainment.

We tired one kennel just outside of Cochrane only to have our dog returned home filthy (had been peed on by other dog) his bed was all peed on and our groomer found a cut on his foot the next day... so we were very on guard as we continue to search for another kennel - that's when we tried Country Tails. Dave and Cathy are fantastic and it is clear they love and are commitment to running a safe and fun Country Tails Kennel. They quickly put you at ease, and our dogs loved them!! Last time we dropped them off at the kennel, our older dog (who had been there before) didn't even look back at us but pulled the staff member into the back to be with the other dogs - he's only ever done this at our old kennel before our move ...that speaks volumes to us!! Thanks to Dave & Cathy for all their hard work, care and love in watching over my fur-balls :)

I used to come to Global Pet Foods pretty regularly every few weeks to stock up on raw food for my…read moredogs because I absolutely loved the service. My last visit, unfortunately, will be my last. Since expanding their raw food selection, Global has not kept up with educating their staff about canine nutrition, which made for an extremely awkward and painful experience listening to a staff member try to make it sound like she knew what she was talking about. Global has clearly caught onto a market that is demanding raw food nutrition for their pets, but has fallen sorely behind in backing these products up. There are many other highly knowledgeable sources available in the city if you are looking to buy raw food for your dogs, and I would highly recommend giving your business to people whose passion is extending genuine knowledge and sound advice regarding canine nutrition. In hindsight, I wish I would have brought my business to a local pet store anyway, rather than a chain that offers Air Miles and drives other small businesses across the street under...

In fact, when Milo goes outside to potty, his feet get so cold, he hobbles around as though his legs are broken until we get inside to the warmth. I knew I had to get him boots at minimum. And, I wasn't looking forward to it. I know how dogs HATE boots. Thank goodness for Global Pet Foods. One of the staff members energetically ran over to help us try on boots. She found the perfect ones for them, and helped me get them on. She made the process so easy and even brought treats over for Milo so that we could make sure he could walk in his new boots -- he wasn't wanting to move otherwise! Then, we moved onto coats. They had so many options and sizes. I found him a perfectly fitting Canada Pooch one with a cute scarf to match. I just HAD to... (haha)! When I was checking out, I was laughing with the ladies running the store about all the hilarious winter gear for dogs out there. I brought up this knit hat with braids that I saw on the Canada Pooch website, and we just died laughing. They said they would like to try ordering some and would call me if they end up getting them in stock. Such a fun place to shop with great customer service. I want to drive clear across town every time for my doggie's necessities now. It's not the closest one to me, but I don't care ;)

You book in 30 minute increments, and we lucked out and got a spot walking in within an hour. We walked down to the nearby bookstore (Pages - which has a resident cat!) to kill time (and spend money) and headed back at our time. The volunteer in the space was so friendly, and the cats, while they were ALL asleep, were so cute and so accommodating to our skritches. The space has helped over 1,500 cats get adopted, which is so incredible, and while there is a charge to go in with the cats, it is worth it as it supports the shelter the cats come from. The staff at check out were so nice as well. It was a great experience, and we'd all go back in a heartbeat if we lived in Calgary.

Melanie also gave me an update on how my cat was doing the day after she picked him up, and also updated me on how he fared and that he seemed in good health when she dropped him off. A Feline Inn is very understanding about cat owners being nervous about leaving their cats, and does a great job of helping to alleviate some of that anxiety.
