I have been going to Wildroot for years. I've seen multiple stylists that are all amazing for their own reasons! You can't go wrong at this salon. The salon itself is clean and hip with a good vibe all around! I love their products too. Some of my favorite stylists include Natalie, Hai, Misty and Robyn. They are all SO professional and so good at what they do. I have long thick hair and I know it can be a pain for a stylist to highlight, cut and blow dry. It can take them forever when they could probably fit two other people in the same time it takes to do my hair, but each one of these stylist has always taken their time with me and made me feel amazing when I walk out! I love hairstylist Kristy Bove! She's been doing my hair for years! Very creative, very gifted. I told her her objective is to make me look younger and when I get unsolicited comments from strangers I know she's doing just that. When I hear compliments with the word "edgy" it is music to my ears. I'm push 65 years old and I never want to appear frumpy! I decided to go platinum and the color is hitting a bullseye! Her haircuts keep their shape until my next appointment. Many days I just use my fingers and some Big Sexy Hair powder play and I'm good to go. My last compliment was at week 8. As a guy, there is a huge difference between a cheap cut and a real haircut. And women can tell the difference. I've been seeing Torey once a month for 8 years. He stays up on trends and product and I can basically let him tell me how I should cut my hair. All of his staff is friendly which is a reflection of him. The new location is way better traffic-wise and the salon itself is open and clean and always makes sure I get my coffee and shortbread cookies. I have referred plenty of women friends and girlfriends to him and every one of them has had rave reviews for him and have made him their regular (except one girl who had a psycho crush on me and stopped when I de-friended her, but we consider that a win for me). read more

TM:2 Salon is my favorite Hair Salon in California. I've been their client since 2006 and am very happy with them. My hair stylist is Mahnaz and guys; she is amazing. She knows what to do. The only problem is hard to find a time to be in thier free schedual but, don't get me wrong because this is a good sign and seems everybody like thier services. The staff are super friendly. Anytime I go there, I've been greeted by the cool gentelman Tory who is the owner of TM2 Salon. I'm the type of person who doesn't like to pay anything over $30 for a haircut. But that's only because I haven't found a stylist worth $60-$70. Until I met Tiffany. I was recommended to her by a friend, and I'm glad I took it. She really listened to what I wanted, and took her time analyzing my hair and what would look good on me. My hair was chopped full of uneven layers, so she evened the layers out and made sure my hair flowed just right. She gave so much attention to the details and she communicated well, explaining what she was doing and why. The salon itself was nice and not pretentious at all. The receptionist was super friendly, and customers were offered free water/coffee/cookies. I dislike the ambiance of most hair salons as everything is soo she she and celebrity-like, if you know what I mean. But this place is so casual and relaxed. A friend of mine introduced me to Mahnaz here and I met her over 3 yrs ago for the first time. I stuck with her since then as she is a professional stylist, plus she is soo funny and friendly. She makes you laugh, she sings and sometimes dances while works. lol. She really wants you to be happy and satisfied. She listens to you and tries her best to do what you want. She knows what she does. He has best products I've ever tried, for the best prices, and it goes a long way - very small amount needed with each use (my bottles last 3-months). I've been going to Salon TM:2 for a long time now and would not consider going anywhere else. The facility is clean and state of the art. There is always cookies, drinks (coffee; tea; freshly infused cucumber water; mimosas on saturdays), magazines and seats available in the waiting area. I was introduced to Hai Nguyen for a Men's haircut more than a year ago. I was pleasantly surprised by how thorough and precise his haircut was and the amazing value he provides. It's also a bonus that he is an incredibly fun and easygoing person to talk to and get along with. Since coming to Hai, I have introduced my girlfriend to get her hair cut and layered. She has never been happier with the cut she received. I don't know much about women's haircuts, but she loves getting her hair cut by Hai. read more

I booked an appt with Hai was well based on all the great reviews, but was really disappointed with the whole experience! During the consultation I showed him some pictures of what I wanted to do with my long hair (ombre color) and the ideas I had, but he very quickly and rudely shot them down saying they were cheesy and cheap!! I could not believe a hairstylist would say that to a client!! He was curt during the whole process and he completely changed what I wanted, including the hair color. I left there with less money in my bank and just feeling very unhappy with my haircut, my color and the service! Won't be coming back here again.... read more

I've been coming here for quite some time now when my hair dresser moved here a while back. Lovely facility, clean and easy to get to. This review really is about my hair SPECIALIST, HAI NGUYEN! He's amazing. He is always spot on giving me new looks when needed, taking me at last minute if needed, but most importantly able to take my hair cleanly from one color to another. Cut twenty getting highlights and lowlights. I was really nervous initially to move from a dark brown (my regular hair color) to blonde highlights without getting that lovely orange, or worse yet the dry hair falling out bleach deal. Being in the fitness business I often have photo shoots, stage events, and overall just am really tough on my hair yet needing to have it looking "stage ready". He nailed it first time. I absolutely love their new location! It's very spacious and I love that they were able to bring in Bumble and Bumble. I have been going to Natalie since she worked at Linear in Irvine. She always keeps my locks locked down. She has seen me through all my crazy hair ideas (I once wanted hair with 3 gradient colors like fire?) but can always be honest when my imagination goes overboard. Although my schedule is erratic, she is always able to fit me in. Now that my taste has become a little more "refined", Natalie always finds a way to make me look classy but not boring. They have above average amenities complete with cookies, cucumber water, and hair products (if that's your thing) If you do intend to try it out, I recommend booking Hai, like Hello, except not. He's has been cutting and styling my Asian hair for years with the skill and consistency I've yet to find elsewhere. Even after moving to LA, I still make the trek down to Orange County every month or so because I can't bring myself to try anywhere else. I discovered NATALIE through a referral, and followed her from her previous salon where she was the manager, to TM2. Natalie is an Irvine local and she's cool as hell! She's been on (and won) a reality show for hair stylists, and she is the best colorist I've ever had. She is super smart and listens to the client rather than just doing what she thinks is best. She's totally down to earth, and super professional. I'm currently on a business trip for 2 months and got my hair done by a stranger. It totally reminded me of why I appreciate NATALIE so much. Her work is never sloppy, and is extremely thorough. When she does my weave, I notice that she literally grabs individual strands to make it perfect and not half-a$$ed. If you're looking for an excellent colorist, she is the person to see. My half-Asian hair has never had a better blonde. It's hard to not get reddish tones when my hair is lifted, but she manages to get me to a golden blonde every time. NATALIE = WIN! read more

Found Hai on a whim when he used to work at Carlton hair back in 2006. Since then I have followed him faithfully and have never cheated on him since!! :) I've gone through bouts of short hair/long hair cycles including highlighting in between. It's so hard to find a good hairstylist. Especially one that is easy to talk to you where it makes the time fly! Karissa was awesome. She was so nice and made me feel so comfortable, i felt like i'd been going to her for years. I have a hard time finding a good hairstylist. I move around salons probably after every time I go. I found the discount - $75 for highlight and cut and I had to jump on it. Called and made an appointment for that Saturday.. no hesitations. They confirmed the day before, then on the day of, about an hour before, they called and said she was running about 20 minutes behind. Nice that they think to tell their customers in case they aren't able to wait they could reschedule. She did a fabulous job and I never once felt like I was the girl with the discount. I didn't really know how to explain what I wanted but I told her I wanted more blonde but still natural looking.. not platinum blond. She did exactly what I wanted and my hair felt so healthy after. It's really difficult to find honest business these days, and once you find one you can't help but feel the need to tell everyone about it. Oh how time passes quickly. I came here several years ago, and have been getting my hair styled and cut by Hai. I don't know what he thinks of me, but I do have some eccentric taste in style and have gone through so many "phases" throughout these years. He gives you good feedback, has great recommendations for you to achieve the "look" that you are going for. The best thing about it, he is totally genuine about it. Sometimes I think he cares about how my hair looks more than I do. He is skilled with the blade, and does an amazing razor cut. I even had him cut my short hair with a razor blade and he did an amazing feat with it. Oh, and its amazing how he can carry a conversation with me. I've been to this salon a couple years back. I was satisfied with my extensions after the first visit. I paid about 500 for 60 strands of hair. THAT'S EXPENSIVE, but it looked nice, so I didn't mind. The extensions were suppose to last for 2 months before the glue starts to wear away. Strands of extensions started to come out 2 weeks after I got it done. I went back only to get it re-glued in-- $10 dollar per extension she had to glue back in. WOW. bill came out to be $50. It was CRAZY. So, after I left, I decided it was isn't worth it. She didn't tell me how to take care of it and when I asked her, she just told me to brush it... a lot. So, I did, looked up some tips online, kept my hair for a while and just let it slowly fall out. This place is expensive. The outcome may look nice after they do your hair, but wait a couple days and you'll see the quality of the work-- won't look so nice anymore. read more

Amazing service and amazing staff. Fun and non-hostile environment- just as it should be when it comes to hair! I was yearning for a haircut ASAP. I called and spoke to Lauren, the receptionist. She greeted me with such enthusiasm and helped me squeeze an appointment for the Yelp special with Tiffany within 3 days. The best part was that Lauren was easy to talk to and listened- that's when I knew from the get go how the staff would be like at this salon. Now the other best part is that Tiffany offered to squeeze me in for a 7am on a Saturday- that was amazing. I know I'm not a morning person, but I really wanted to get my hair done ASAP so I took the appointment. Come early Saturday morning I was greeted by Torey, letting me know that Tiffany would be in at any minute. Tiffany greeted me and asked if there was anything I wanted to drink or if there was anything I needed. She totally makes you comfortable and is very easy to talk to. The best part is that her consultations are thorough- she doesn't finish your sentence, put you down (like a couple of stylists I've gone to), or try to force her idea onto you. She's there to listen to what you want and if you can't describe what you really want in words, she will help you out. I had a simple request to re-layer my hair, keep the length and highlight my hair so that it compliments the med-browns found in my dark brown hair. She respected the idea that I didn't want to stray from my natural color locks since it took me 3+ to grow out all the dyed hair from the past. She did exactly that. She had the same vision that I had for my hair and it came out exactly how I pictured it. Both of my teenage daughters (15 and 17) see Karissa and ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER!! It can be difficult to find a stylist that can make your teenage daughters extremely comfortable and confident with how their hair is done and with Karissa we have found it. I absolutely love him. My hair, once was a naturally beautiful red, is now a muted lighter brown, muted color. Blah color!! He did his magic and gave me blond highlights and slight reddish color in between, and, let me tell you... it brightened my whole face up. Wow, I am so delighted.
