I just had a super relaxing facial with Tracey Mitchell. She has such a calming and soothing vibe. My skin feels so smooth and looks fresh and glowing! She used fabulous smelling products and a special tool that helps with exfoliating and rejuvenation on my 58 year old skin. I'll be back for sure read more

Wildroot Salon - Hair Salons Near Me - Portland, Oregon

I have been going here since it opened, and I love it. The atmosphere is sophisticated and modern, yet clean and uncluttered, and the hair stylists are all very friendly and welcoming to anyone who comes in. I see Sarah, and she knows hair. In fact, I don't trust any other person with my hair, and it's because of her that I am always getting compliments on my style and color. She really knows what she's doing, plus she'll listen to you and work with any requests you might have. It is pricey, but it is also a very high-end salon, so expect fabulous treatment, a complimentary wine, beer, tea or coffee, a massage, and, if you're male, a relaxing hot towel treatment. This is where you go to feel luxurious. read more

Wildroot Salon - Hair Salons Near Me - Portland, Oregon

Wildroot Salon is in a great building with tons of natural light. I really loved the openness of the salon and the comfy vibe. They are an Aveda salon with product. Mathew was my stylist and I am the type of client that needs a professional that's confident; I am the client that says: 'I don't know what I want to do' or 'whatever you think' and this can make some stylists crazy. Mathew didn't blink and simply took over with his skills and knowledge making some magic happen. I have long hair (and I am lazy when it comes to grooming it) so Mathew gave me an updated look that I could handle. I didn't have to show him a photo or pick a color he just got a sense of who I was and ran with it. I have received so many compliments (blushing). Mathew was so super kind and very generous with his time. I was in the most capable and experienced hands and would highly recommend him and his salon. read more

The best stylist and hair experience I've ever had! I've gotten my hair done in tons of places but no stylist has ever helped me achieve my inspiration pictures from Pinterest like Yuki! I have really stubborn black dark Asian hair and she managed to work her magic and give gorgeous highlights all over! She took her time and treated me like her only client and that is extremely rare in the beauty industry. I will forever go back to Yuki for all my hair needs and highly recommend anyone in search of a genuinely amazing salon to come book with Yuki at Wildroot. She gets the job done and cares about all of her clients truly, best Aveda salon in Portland! There's a reason they have 5 stars all around! read more

I love Matthew...wonderful massage and really took the time to study my facial structure for the right cut. What a joy! Jan read more

Guys, I cannot say enough good things about Wildroot Salon. The space is so cute and I love the smell of Aveda which is diffused. I've been on the hunt for a salon closer to my house, and I can say the hunt is finally over. Wildroot is truly an experience. Mathew is awesome. He really has this attention to detail that I don't find very often. I especially appreciate how much he cares about the health of my hair. As someone who chemically processes it a lot, this is so important! Each and every visit is like catching up with an old friend. I'm always offered a beverage when I first get there which I think is such a nice touch. Mathew is truly a pro. Cannot say enough good things! read more

Yuki and Matthew are great people and stylists. They make sure their customers are taken care of and provide quality service.

I just got a haircut from Ruth and I'm sooo happy! This is the best haircut that I have ever gotten. I was nervous because I had a date afterwards. I thought I might have to run home and shower and fix it because I *always* loathe the way my hair looks right after a cut (and I also tend to hate the way they style it). BUT - It looked so good! I have lots and lots of *very* fine hair, which it seems is hard for many hairdressers to get just right. I highly recommend Ruth, she is friendly, easy to work with, and VERY skilled! read more

Sarah you are mistaken or have been mis informed by Katie. My daughter was not there for Katie to do corrective color. She was there for a Hombre cut and color. Why would she want to come back and trust Katie to work more on her hair, when she already damaged it??? She did contact Katie, who refuses to refund her her money. David agreed to refund mine, but now has become unreachable.... read more

I'm wild about Wildroot Salon! The owner, Matthew Hintzen, has done my hair for years now. He consistently provides a spa-like experience and, of course, amazing haircuts. As far as atmosphere is concerned, I've never felt so comfortable at a salon before. There's always the happy chatter of clients talking with their stylists, hot tea and Aveda products to browse. The decor is modern-rustic-cool and street parking is free. What more could a girl want? read more

I have been going to Liz Fowler for 13 years, she is awesome! She will get to know your individual likes and dislikes and be honest with you about what works and doesn't work for your hair. You can't get any better than her. read more

I'm a long time customer of this salon and have had nothing but amazing experiences! Katie has gotten me in at the last minute to style my hair for a big event but has also done numerous cuts and colors that I have always been thrilled with the results. David and Sarah have invited us to community events there with great hospitality and my friends and I always feel welcome to come in and visit. I have referred numerous people here and have always had rave reviews. Thank you Katie and Wildroot for always making my experience excellent and feeling like I look fabulous when I leave! read more

I have been going to this salon for about 7 years now I think. The staff is super friendly and I love that it's not snobby in any way. They do a great job on my hair and make the experience really calm and relaxing. I would suggest many of their stylists, particularly Jamie and Sarah. Overall amazing experience every time I go. read more

I have lived in Portland now for 3 years. I have been with out my beloved "hair guru" for 8 years. (She moved to New Zealand) I saw Katie's hair and said, "I don't get my hair done by people who have bad hair... And you have AMAZING hair!" She has the same curly, wavy hair I do, so I was hoping she would know what to do with my mess. She did! If she ever leaves I will have to follow! I mean, I almost had to fly to New Zealand until I found her... And I won't even go back to my old hair lady even if she moved back! I have even recommended her to a couple of friends who have gone back a couple of times now. read more

I have been going to Wildroot for years and David always does an amazing job. Great salon, in every possible way.

Ruth is an artist! She just gave me the best haircut I've honestly ever had. It's like this interactive sculpture I can style in a million ways. She's attentive to my hair type and preferences, and she doesn't rush. She really spent time getting every detail right, and the cut fits me and my face perfectly. I'm so glad I found her. read more

RUTH IS A ROCK STAR! No seriously, it took me three years to find someone I could trust here in Portland after moving from New York. The salon is clean and adorable, I don't know anything about the other stylists - but I have only wonderful things to say about Ruth. I have short curly hair, and she knows how to deal with it. She is also affordable, and patient and very sweet. Absolutely would recommend her to anyone. read more

Miss Kristie has been cutting my hair for years. I love how my hair looks and always get compliments on new cuts. Kristie will take time to make sure you are comfortable and help determine what cut you would like. She is very talented with hair color design. Kristie is also an interesting and smart conversation partner, I always enjoy spending time with her. Wildroot is a great spot, very convenient and a pleasant space. read more

Katie has been cutting my hair for a while now, but I recently decided to freshen up my hair with some color and am so happy I went to her! I don't dye my hair often and in the past colorists have been too aggressive with the blonde, but Katie really listened to what I wanted and was careful to give me a style I could manage the upkeep for -and looked natural. She said if I wanted more, she could always add it in, but it wasn't necessary. She nailed it the first time! read more

First off, this is an Aveda salon so naturally smells phenomenal. The overall ambiance and lighting feels relaxing. It's definitely a nice spot to spend a few hours getting your hair colored. :-) In addition to the great overall atmosphere, Shawna did a phenomenal job with my hair color. I had been highlighting my hair blonde (my hair is a dirtier, mousier color) for years, and went to her for some advice on getting back to a more natural shade. It turned out great, and I would absolutely recommend Shawna for hair color consults! She's super friendly and charismatic....in addition to being an experienced stylist. I've tried a lot of salons and I like this one best. Great overall experience! read more

I normally don't get my haircut at salons like this but I figured I'd give it a try since this place was so close to me and there was plenty of easy parking near by. Very clean and open space that wasn't too intimidating even for a salon-phobic guy like myself. Katie was my stylist and she did a great job figuring out what to do to make me look good. There was also beer and a hot towel face massage at the end. I'll definitely be back. read more

I've been seeing Liz Fowler for about 5 years - she is fabulous! Since receiving her cuts, I get compliments by complete strangers on my hair. I trust Liz more than any stylist I've seen. She's a great listener, but is also honest about what she thinks will work best for my hair. And her prices are reasonable. Thanks Liz! read more

I have been getting my haircut by Kristie since I moved to Portland four years ago. She always does a terrific job. She makes her clients feel relaxed. It is easy to set up an appointment by sending her emails or calling her directly. I appreciate her flexible schedule. read more

I saw Shawna today and she is amazing! She is a hair genius, able to interpret photos I showed her, vague ideas about what would look good on my hair..to a hair cut and color that fit my face, hair, and style perfectly! Plus, she has a great personality and was really fun to work with. She had good advice on long term care and maintenance for my hair and products to use that were reasonable and realistic. The salon itself is beautiful and was a delightful place to spend an afternoon. read more
