We recently had a two night stay at Wildhaven, with two other families. We had booked about 6 months in advance and every time I called with questions, the staff was very helpful, friendly and helped answer my questions in detail. The only disappointment was that one of the three riverside tents was not next to the other two, even though we had booked the tents in 1 reservation. I thought I had confirmed they were next to each other, but it did not work out that way. While we were at Wildhaven, we had horrible rainy weather. However, our family still had a blast! The rain didn't stop the kids from biking, scootering, fishing, etc. We made the best of it and everyone had a great time. The facilities were clean, the tents were spacious, the beds were very comfortable and the website accurately described all amenities. We paid extra for the early check in and it was worth it because it gave us more time to get settled in before heading to the river and maximizing our first day. I would recommend water shoes for adults and kids because the river is really rocky. We failed to bring water shoes and lost two pairs of sandals that floated down stream. We look forward to another trip at Wildhaven :) read more

A little disappointed overall. We paid almost $400 per night for one of the larger cabins for two nights ($800) over Valentine's Day weekend. I understand that holiday pricing comes at a premium, but the experience did not match the cost particularly when it comes to cleanliness. Cleanliness: We stayed in a cabin with an upstairs bunk. Upon arrival, we went upstairs and immediately noticed that the extra blanket and pillows had visible stains on the storage bag something that looked like dried cake batter or butter. There was also dirt and grass throughout the bunk area. This made us question whether this space had been properly cleaned before our stay. The communal bathroom area was even more concerning. There was a strong odor, and it appeared as though someone had either dropped something or vomited on the geoun, and it had clearly not been cleaned. It was extremely unpleasant. It was also disappointing to see that there is only one bathroom and shower area for the entire property, especially when the site appears to be nearly fully booked. The bathrooms get very busy. Additionally, there is only one family/baby changing area, and there was visible mildew growing in the shower. For nearly $400 per night (for two nights), we could have stayed at AutoCamp, which offers cleaner facilities, more amenities, and overall better value. The Cabin: To be fair, the cabin itself was comfortable and well designed. I would rate the cabin itself a 5/5. It was nicely insulated, the heated bed was a great touch, and having both heater and A/C was appreciated. However, we were surprised there was no full-length mirror in the cabin. Almost every glamping experience we've had includes one, so it was an odd omission. Bathrooms & Facilities: The bathrooms are very outdated and in need of a serious refresh. It would be helpful to take notes from Mendocino Grove they have truly perfected the glamping experience and set a high standard. Overall, the potential is there, but for the price point, cleanliness and shared facilities need significant improvement. read more

We had an amazing glamping experience here. The facility is clean and feels safe for us with young kids. Our tent was ready during checking in at 4PM. We parked our car right at the back of the tent. The queen bed suited us for 2 adults & 1 young kid. There's a picnic table & fire pit if you want to have meal right in front the tent. We went during summer but the night was pretty cold. Even after turning on the heated pad and bundled in the cozy duvet, I had to wear hoodie on top of my PJ. The bathrooms were clean. Even when I went at 2AM to use it, it was well lit (but you do need to bring flashlight to walk there). The shower rooms are clean and the water pressure was good. It has shampoo, conditioner, and body wash inside. There is a communal gas BBQ and picnic tables near the shower area. You just need to bring utensils & food for your meal. There are washing stations with sponges & dish soap too. The Russian River is right in front of the property with various small 'beaches' along the riverbanks. However, do be careful of the current as it can be pretty strong. Life jacket is highly recommended for younger kids. You can rent inner tube at the store for $25/day. The store opens at 8am-7pm with complimentary coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. They sell burritos, snacks, cup noodle, beverages, and wine. My boyfriend and I decided to spend our 4 year anni at Wildhaven and it was super fun! We decided last minute that we'd like to camp. For context I'm not so much of a camper I'm a glamper. Overall this was the nicest campground I have been to and it was pretty clean. The showers surprised me they were soooo clean and stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There were not a lot of people at the time we booked so it was pretty quiet. I've read previous reviews for this spot and it is right next to a road, yes, however it is not as busy it could be loud if pick tents closer to the bathrooms/picnic table area and/or more sensitive to sound. We went to one of the spots they recommended for a walk/hike and it was really nice! Also wineries are super close! I would come back again :) read more

7/11-7/13 Our group of 10 or so came here to Sonoma Wildhaven. We had mixture stays of cabins and tents. We pretty much booked all the riverfront tents. The tents were nice. Cabins were also nice but didn't have private bathrooms but had A/C! Thankfully it wasn't too hot the weekend we went. The river access was really nice. Our kids had fun. The community showers and bathrooms need to be cleaned more frequently. Some bathrooms were out of toilet paper and the trash bins weren't empty timely. It was nice that they have barrels of trash throughout the property that was managed more frequently. There is complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the morning at the shop from 8-11. Parking is conveniently located next to your rental unit. It's pricey and you definitely pay for the convenience of being in Sonoma and being so close to some great wineries like Silver Oak. Friday night was nice where string lights were on til midnight. Saturday, those same lights were off early which was disappointing. Quiet time is at 10pm. read more

We stayed in tent 38 which was extremely loud from the cars rushing and going over bridge. Ear plugs didn't help. It is not open to the river. You had to go on challenging, muddy path. This Wildhaven location was our first time experiencing glamping and it has sparked our "addiction" for glamping ever since ! This review is long overdue! We tried Wildhaven Sonoma last December during their Winter promotion. We got two wine tumblers, a bottle of wine and a kit of s'mores with our stay. The tumblers are of high quality and the wine was delicious! As we turned into Wildhaven, we loved how cute and quaint it was, nestling along the Russian River. Rows and rows of small cabin appeared before our eyes. There was an attendant at the gate who would quickly check you in and gave you some instructions of where your cabin was located and where to park. Each cabin has its own parking so you can easily park and load your stuff inside. The cabin itself was so nice with spacious front deck which had a small coffee table and 2 chairs for your morning coffee enjoyment. There was a picnic table and a fire pit in the front yard. Walk a few steps up, open the zipped door and you'll enter a spacious cabin with 2 queen bed, 1 night stand and a coat rack. Though you may have to walk a bit to use the restroom and bathroom (yes you can take showers here!), the cabin has everything else that you need! Lights for you to read, electricity for you to charge your phone/ipad/laptop/electronic devices, heated blankets underneath your sheets (because it's winter time), and a space heater if the heated blanket were not enough for you! This Wildhaven is conveniently located within 10 minutes of driving to downtown Healdsburg where you can find all the delicious restaurants. Famous wineries are also within 15-20 of driving. We spent all our rainy day trying out different wineries and had a blast! They also have a lodge where you could buy last minute items such as ices, toothpaste, toothbrush. They have hot water for you to use. Around the ground, there are playgrounds which has corn holes and various other things. You also have private entrance to the Russian River. We quickly walked down but didn't spend much time there since it's winter time. But I can totally imagine how popular this river will be in the summer time. Overall, we had a blast! We usually reserve campsites at California State Parks on the reservecalifornia website, which I highly recommend and they have bathrooms/showers at most state parks, but we wanted to try glamping for the first time. The fact that we could pack lighter and the photos on the Wildhaven website really sold us. (Of course, the photos will always look better though). I purchased the early check-in option ($30) so we could arrive at 1 PM instead of 3 PM, but since check-in is fully contactless and no one is at the front desk, it makes you wonder... couldn't anyone just show up early? When we arrived, we were surprised by how close the tents are to one another. You can hear every conversation around you. The couple across from us brought their husky that barked at every passerby. We were just sitting on our porch when they pulled up, and their dog immediately started barking at us from the car. It continued to bark at us as the man brought the dog out and throughout the night at their neighbors around them. I felt bad for their neighbors. Then the couple started arguing at one point and you can hear them arguing. There was also another dog farther away that joined in, so at times, both dogs were barking back and forth, either at each other or maybe at strangers. We have two dogs ourselves and we love dogs but I could see that people bringing their reactive dog would eventually ruin the benefit of dogs being allowed here. To our right, another couple blasted their Netflix show at full volume and laughed obnoxiously loud like, full "HEE HEE HEE HEE! HAHAHA!!!". On top of that, the site sits right next to the freeway, so there's constant traffic noise. Altogether, it was far from peaceful. The next morning, we went to the storefront for the complimentary coffee and hot chocolate. The setup was cute and well-done. My husband had an injury, so I went on a quiet morning walk to the river around 8 AM. It started off lovely, until I saw two full boxes of empty Modelo bottles dumped near the water, more bottles scattered around, and even a used diaper hanging from a tree. There was graffiti on the wall and a "Litter = No Access" sign right in front of the mess. It really ruined the experience and grossed me the hell out. The amount of trash made it clear that the area hadn't been cleaned in a while. As I made my way back to my tent, out of nowhere, this German shepherd tied outside someone's converted school bus lunges at me and barks aggressively. It felt like one of those movies where the guy is breaking in someone's house and there's a jump scare of a guard dog trying to attack the guy. I felt like I was trespassing someone's property. I don't know what a mobile school bus is doing there but it's probably one of the staff that lives there. It didn't feel safe or appropriate for guests to walk by. To be fair, the tents themselves are comfortable and well equipped with outlets, Wi-Fi, a heater, and storage space. (Keep in mind that the WiFi inside the tent isn't great.) The on-site amenities are well maintained. The staff clearly works hard to keep the bathrooms and shared areas spotless, because you'd see them constantly cleaning, which I appreciate. However, the area around the river really need more attention. If you're looking for a peaceful, nature-filled experience, this isn't the place. Between the barking dogs, loud guests, freeway noise, and trash by the river, it felt more chaotic than relaxing. I can't say I ever felt a sense of calm during our stay at Wildhaven. TL;DR: Beautiful setup and clean bathrooms, but reactive barking dogs, loud neighbors, traffic noise, and trash by the river made it hard to relax. Definitely not the peaceful, nature-filled stay we expected. read more

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Wildhaven Sonoma. Booking was easy on their website and there were a variety of tents and cabins to choose from. Check-in was also online and gave us instructions on what to do when we got there. We've never gone glamping before, so I didn't know what to expect and definitely overpacked. Our tent was elevated and also had two beds - I was worried about the cold but the tent had a space heater and two beds with heating pads. There were two heating pads per bed and can be adjusted to the individual preference! They really thought of everything! Each tent had a firepit and there were a communal space with grills for cooking as well. Our tent was a bit far from the bathrooms and it was a pain getting to in the night - hopefully in the future, they'll have more bathrooms set up at different areas around the campsite. My kids had a lot of fun and although it was a bit too cold to go down to the river, my daughter enjoyed walking around what she calls "this little town". read more

My friend and I decided to take a spontaneous trip to Sonoma County to glamp and I'm so glad that we did! We booked ourselves a 1 night stay through their website. The process was super easy as you just need to choose whether or not you'd like a tent or a cabin. The pricing was also very reasonable. Despite it being cold and rainy outside, our tent was extremely warm and cozy thanks to the portable heater and heated blanket!! The tent also had towels, a mirror, trash bin and a clothing rack. We also thought the fairy lights were super cute! The campsite also has a shared communal kitchen, bathrooms and restrooms! Everything was super clean as well. The camp store also offers lots of wine, goodies, firewood, games and more. Our two favorite ice creams were the saffron pistachio and the plant-based mint chocolate chip (literally to die for). The staff at Wildhaven were all super friendly and welcoming. They did not hesitate to check in on us and they made us feel at home. Overall, this trip was definitely one for the books. Went here for our anniversary staycation and can't believe I haven't been here sooner. It's so close to san francisco but far away enough where you feel like you're somewhere completely different. We loved how close it was to downtown Healdsburg with wonderful restaurants and wine tasting. We stayed at their newer cabins and it's perfect for 2-3 adults if you get the futon or 2 adults and 2 kids. It has such a comfortable bed with a warming mattress so it kept us warm during the winter. There is also AC during the hot summer months. They also have a small table and plugs and WiFi. So basically everything you need despite being out in nature. We were close to the bathrooms and the showers had running hot water. There was also a common area with picnic tables and bbq grill so you can definitely do a bbq. Each tent/cabin had their own firepit and hammock and picnic table so you can still have your own private campfire. Everything is clean even out in nature. There's parking dedicated for each tent/cabin but also plenty of guest parking too. They even have a shop where you can buy snacks and goods in case you forgot but downtown is also so close. I had a great time celebrating my birthday at Wildhaven. It was my first time glamping and I had a great experience! I did the spring fling deal that was offered online, so I paid for a 2-night stay in a premium tent for a Riverside tent. It came with a bottle of wine, a s'mores kit, and $25 credit to use at the store. The bathrooms and showers were very clean, and the tent itself was very nice and cozy. There is a fan and a heater provided. We were able to cook meals on the grill above the fire pit. A short walk away is the river, but beware of your surroundings on the way there because we came across a (harmless) little snake. The site is next to the highway so it can get noisy from the cars passing by, but we didn't mind. On one of the nights, there was a large group that was being noisy around 12am-1am, (quiet hours is after 10pm), I was able to text a noise complaint to the after hours number and they replied right away to investigate it. I believe there's at least two staff members who stay onsite. Overall I had a great experience here and wouldn't mind doing it again! read more

Instagram is definitely not reality. A glamping reel is what brought us in and while we initially had planned on staying 2-3 nights, we decided to try it out for a night and if we liked it we would try and extend our stay. It was a good call to book only one night. We were thrilled our tent was facing towards the trees and river as we could see all the other tents set up in what appeared to be a parking lot very close to each other. We thought we were really lucky to get the spot we did. Our tents were really hot when we arrived and it smelled of wet rag or wet dog. Some room freshener would go a long way. We thought, well hopefully it will cool down at night and the smell will go away. Thankfully, it did cool off but the smell lingered. We were curious as to why there were ear plugs next to our bed but when night came and it was time to sleep, we understood why there were earplugs. We were quite literally next to a bridge with extremely noisy traffic. It was impossible to get any sleep as the ear plugs were not enough to muffle the noise of heavy trucks and cars passing all night long. We were extremely miserable. We had hoped to get away and thought this was our opportunity to hear wind rustle through the leaves of the trees, the sound of birds and the sound of the river....but all we heard was traffic...loud traffic all night long till morning. We all woke up tired and miserable as were only able to catch a couple hours of sleep: Perhaps it would be better to stay in tents further away from the road...but we could still definitely hear the traffic even as we walked further away. Super disappointing. It definitely wasn't worth the price. For the price we paid, we could have checked into a nice comfortable hotel. read more

Best glamping experience I could have had! Friends and I got the riverside tents over the Fourth of July weekend and had the best time. Location is perfect as it felt like I was far away but it's only an hour drive from San Francisco and less than 10 mins from charming downtown Healdsburg. The tent was clean and really nice- from the usb outlets, to the lamps, to the comfy (heated) beds and rug. Really felt like luxury in a tent kind of way! Each tent came with a picnic table and campfire pit. My kids and friends kids really enjoyed the open space to ride their scooters and run around. The weather was perfect too! We celebrated our 9 year anniversary with Wildhaven and we absolutely loved it! This review is long overdue because we came in September but hey, better late than never. We happened to come during the weekend of a really big bay area rainstorm which was unfortunate but we made the best of it. Love - We are huge fans of the fact that they are dog friendly! We brought our senior pup along with us and it was nice to glamp with him by our side. Tent - our tent was nice and clean and had all the amenities we needed. Omg and upon entering they even made us a happy Anniversary card which was the sweetest. We still have it to this day. Everything else was either a 10 minute drive or even just a walk to the Wildhaven store which was super convenient. Prior to arrival, I had also ordered the smores kit and firewood that we picked up. Water tube rentals - My husband and I decided to try this out so we rented. He was the only one to go into the water because it was way too cold for me and our pup, but it looked like he had a great time floating down that river. Bathrooms - There are bathrooms and showers on the camp site. The bathrooms are clean and the showers are for the most part. You can't avoid all the bugs when you're outside and among nature. The water was really cold when I had showered. Events - During our stay the first night, there was live music in their events tent and it was a really nice and intimate setting. We had the chance to see other friendly glampers. Food - Prior to the storm, we were able to cook everything via campfire which was super fun. We made steak and campfire bread, fire roasted veggies and smores which we paired with wine from the local winery. However once it got rainy, we moved to cooking on their onsite gas stoves which took awhile to work, but did the job. We gave up for lunch and decided to go out and grab a meal from Bravas. Overall, I highly recommend coming here! Hopefully on a weekend with nice weather but even in the rain my husband, pup, and I had such a great memorable experience. read more

Wow! I just learned that I totally overpaid for a Premium 2 Queen bed tent! When I called to inquire why I paid $100 more per night on same dates as others I was told that they use an **AI pricing system**. They don't have a firm pricelist. I understand that weekends and high season cost more, but we traveled midweek. I started researching this because I was wondering why we didn't get a Riverfront Tent Cabin as I had assumed for that much higher price we would have a riverfront one, but that was not the case. We were in the corner of the second row and had a view of tents and cars. We were extremely disappointed. They charged more than the hotel in Healdsburg where we stayed for two nights prior! When we arrived my family members even said I was scammed, but I didn't want to make a big deal out of it and to not ruin the vacation mood. But of course it has left a very sour taste to this experience. And no hammock, I had the impression every cabin had one. Some of the tents are also way too close together; we could hear what the neighbors down the road were doing. Another problem is the noise from the highway, even with earplugs I kept waking up. It does say on their website that it's noisy but I didn't expect it to be that bad. We heard cars and trucks all night long going over the old, rattling bridge above. Other than that, the tent cabin was very clean and the beds with their foam mattress comfortable (although it would be nice to have fitted sheets for the mattress, not the flat ones). Nice to have complimentary coffee/ tea in the morning, and firewood ($$) delivered. They have supplies one can rent; we needed a larger cooler and were able to rent one for $20 per day). Wildhaven Sonoma is a remarkable place located only an hour and 20 min from Oakland. It is the perfect balance of outdoors and comfort. My family and I were pleasantly surprised when we arrived although we read fabulous reviews on Yelp. Our tent cabin was in the middle row with two queen beds. The room was clean, had towels for the shower, a heater, and lights. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by one of the staff who went over the grounds, rules, and answered our questions. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked with paper towels and toilet paper. The individual showers with hot water (yes, I said hot water!) was wonderful. Each site has a bbq pit but there is also a section with gas grills, picnic tables, and sinks with dish soap to wash your dishes. The camp ground also has a cute store where you can buy wine, ice cream, snacks, games, s'mores kits, and Wildhaven Sonoma clothing. They provide free coffee and hot chocolate in the morning which is a nice treat. The bonus is the river where you can rent inner tubes and enjoy going down stream. My family loved it! Be warned that if you go all the way down, it's a good walk back to the campsite. Definitely worth it, however. We did it twice! The owner is lovely and took the time to talk with us. In the early evening, a local artist performed under the events tent which was a nice treat and a great way to meet others. There is the sound of cars on the freeway at night but earplugs are provided and it's not that bad. If you're lucky, you will be there when it rains, like us. The rain sound was soothing and our tent cabins were built well to withstand the rain. We will definitely be back and are planning trip with extended family so they can also experience this fabulous place. read more

First time "glamping," and I can say: I get it. Comfortable, warm, heated bed in a roomy "tent," group picnic areas, lots of space for kiddos to ride their bikes, clean bathrooms and showers, a kitchen sink for dishes, a well curated "mini market" of staples and treats, trails and rivers to explore, lots of nearby restaurants, and for the grown ups, ample wine tasting. This made for an easy, comfortable trip for our family and several others in our group. As much as we like old school camping, this spot made for a perfect balance of outdoor fun and indoor ease. read more

Finally had the opportunity to visit Wildhaven Sonoma for a quick glamping experience. The location is conveniently close to the freeway, providing easy access to various amenities such as food and wine. Alternatively, one can choose to stay for a unique glamping adventure. The Sonoma area offers an incredible time with its wineries, and a highly recommended spot for a wine tour is the Jordan Vineyard, which is in close proximity to the glamping site. Healdsburg is also nearby, offering excellent restaurants and more wine experiences. As for the site itself, it is relatively compact, featuring some tents with a riverside view. There are a few steps to access the riverside, and a small hike to the water adds to the amazing experience. Definitely, a place to have fun and not to be missed! read more

My girlfriend booked this place for her birthday and I must say it was a very amazing experience, despite the heat and flies, we enjoyed the peacefulness of this place. We stayed here at the peak of some crazy heatwave in California in June, so when we got there it was a whopping 100 something degrees so keep this in mind when booking. When it is hot outside, your tents will be hot inside as well. They have a very small fan inside the tent and we made sure to ask for another one since there was 4 of us in total and the heat was very uncomfortable. We arrived right at check-in time which was 3PM and yes it was very hot but don't be deceived by the heat in the afternoon, it got very chilly at night so just be prepared, PLS BRING A JACKET ESPECIALLY FOR THE KIDS that way you can enjoy your bonfire without freezing. We had tent #4 (which I personally think was a perfect spot, it had the perfect amount of shade, decent walk to the river and bathroom. This tent is literally the 1st set of tents you see after the check-in shack) which had 2 beds and was very spacious for 4 adults and 1 kid. We also had a hammock included in our reservation (not all tents have a hammock) as well as a fire pit and a picnic table. The tent provided you with a bath towel along with a face towel. Blankets and pillows are also included. One thing that really annoyed us was the amount of flies around so I am not sure if there's something you can use to get rid of the flies but what did help was when we started our bonfire, the flies went away almost immediately. The camp site provides you with 3 propane powered grill by the common area section of the site which of course is first come first serve. It also comes with grilling utensils (tong and fork). We brought our own propane powered portable stove because we had korean bbq our first night. You are not allowed to bring rice cooker, so please check their website for list you can and cannot bring. We did use their grill on our 2nd day, just make sure to clean up after yourself. Their restrooms are impeccably clean. They have a full bathroom(shower & toilet together) and they have showers only and as well as toilets only, so plenty of options. RIVER- bring your own inner tube. The river is easily accessible from the campsite. I highly recommend buying some water sandals, the river is very rocky. The water is also cold but it's very perfect when it's very hot in the afternoon. Some section of the water is ankle deep and some area is neck deep so you just have to find your perfect area. Bring camping chairs or umbrellas when you go to the river, its honestly very relaxing. QUIET TIME: I am very glad we did not have anyone staying on either side of our tent. We all work grave yard so we are used to being up in the middle of the night which we were all nights we were there but we made sure we were not loud which yes is very hard but we tried our very best and thank god no one complained. When they said that quiet time is at 10PM every literally went to bed at 10PM. So do keep this in mind. STORE ON-SITE- the store on site has ice and wood for bonfire. Bring your charcoal if you want to cook using your fire pit, I am not sure if they had charcoal available in store. They had a variety of items in the store, from wine bottles to basic necessities. Their downtown is about 10 mins away so don't worry if you forget something, you can easily drive to their downtown and buy whatever you need. Things I wish I brought with me: -Outdoor lamp for night time -Small Blanket -Mosquito repellant -Extra camping chairs FOR DOG OWNERS: If your dog doesn't do well in the cold or heat please plan ahead and bring the appropriate things to make sure they are comfortable. We had a pug with us and due to the heat, we had to check her in at a doggy day care(they had one at their downtown, which was very cheap) for the day. Even when it's cold, make sure your dog has a blanket. LOL moments: You know we're not campers because we did not secure our food well at night and a raccoon ransacked our campsite our first night. It ate the dog food and some meat we had left so yeah just make sure you store your food properly lol..... CONS: Cars from the road can be easily heard from the campsite. Power went out our first night at around 11:30PM which means no charging and no light at the campsite just the restrooms which was powered by the generators which can also be loud. I highly recommend going on a weekday it is honestly less crowded. We stayed from Wednesday to Friday. They campsite was probably about 40% occupied and then of course as it got close to the weekend people were checking in more. ACTIVITIES: Boat rides, jet skies, wineries are all easily available to book and is only about a 20 min drive. We did horse back riding before we went home on our last day. Will I go back, absolutely and this time I will bring my family. It's honestly an amazing experience and I would love to try it out again. read more

This was such a fun weekend getaway. The staff were organized and had our tent and cabins ready earlier than expected. Bathrooms are shared and there's a nice grill and food prep/outdoor kitchen area where they supply soap, sponges and grilling tools. Bathrooms were shared/clean and showers were private. We got to stay in the tent one night and the cabin the next night so here is my comparison: Tent: Pros- true camping feel, it had electricity and a heater and fan. Also having a window right by the bed was great to have the breeze. Cons: Fairly hot since we were here on a Saturday in August, but just hang out in the shaded river areas and you'll be fine. Not a lot of furniture other than the bed- room if you wanna bring an outdoor chair. You can't really lock anything up- maybe bring a lock for your tent or keep items in the car if you're in and out like we were and wanting some extra security in a highly populated area. Cabin: Pros: Air-conditioned! It was lovely, also had a futon and cafe table and chairs inside. Insulated from temp and noise of course- this made a huge difference in the heat. Locking door with key code so no fumbling with keys. Cons: it's so comfy u might stay inside more than you intended! read more

Very much a glamping experience! The grounds are well kept and actually pretty small so it feels like a small community and not crowded at all and the tents are very comfortable with amenities you normally wouldn't find outside of a hotel. The staff are very friendly and we absolutely their little camp pup and cat! Their bathrooms are super clean most of the time and this was the thing I worry about the most when camping! Check-in was easy too and our tent was ready early so we were able to check in at an earlier time(they allow you to be on the grounds starting at 1pm on your check in day). I also loved that there were dedicated parking spaces right behind your tent. Of course we went on the hottest weekend ever when they issued an excessive heat warning, but the location allowed us to drive over to the downtown area to escape the heat a bit or drive around and enjoy the wine country sights. The store is a nice amenity too and I like that you don't really have to carry cash and you can just charge it to the booking. It's stocked with ice, desserts(even a birthday cake!), alcohol, games you can rent, etc. they had a complimentary wine tasting one day during our stay and they have complimentary hot beverages every morning. I do wish we stayed a little longer into the weekend(we checked in on thurs and out sat) because we missed the yoga and the live music. A couple things to note..the tents are pretty close so you do hear everything and it's nice that they have the quiet hrs that almost every night we were there ppl adhere to. Since it got a little cooler later on in the day, we kinda wished we had more time to do louder activities later on in the night, but totally understand why the quiet hours are enforced. I was also a bit deterred to let my kids swim in the river due to the blue-green algae they advised us about during the orientation. They said they did test recently, but warned some areas may have it. My daughter has eczema so I was afraid she might come in contact with it so we ended up not going in the river. The rest of my family did though :) Overall, a pleasant stay besides the excessive heat and blue-green algae! Hopefully we can come back when it's cooler and the algae is not in bloom. read more

A Little Slice of Heaven in Alexander Valley! Glamping has been on our Wishlist for a few years. My husband had to be in California for family reasons, so we took advantage of this opportunity since we live in Boston. We booked a night at the last minute, just so we had a destination and it was a bed to drive to. Since this was our first time Glamping, we were not quite prepared for it to rain. We were so grateful that we chose one of the 2 brand new cabins - because we had heat! So we relaxed on the comfy teak chairs on the front porch for awhile. Then we snuggled up, turned on the heated mattress pad and enjoyed the luxurious bedding in our spotless cabin in the woods. Funny thing, I told my husband the day before that we did not have our own bathroom - you should have seen the look on his face. Happy to report that the bathrooms are very clean, and we both loved their shampoo so much we would love to buy some! Granted it is dark at night so bring a flashlight. It was refreshing to brush our teeth at the outdoor sinks. TIP: We should have gone into their adorable store BEFORE we drove to Healdsburg to bring back dinner. Their store is stocked with the essentials for Glamping - frozen upscale burritos (micro in store), gourmet ice cream & s'mores kits! Of course they have ice, wine and souvenirs & munchies too. The rain did not stop us from walking to the river, steps away. It must be awesome during the summer for swimming and tubing. Outdoor showers near the river entrance on the grass are a nice touch as well. Tons of fun for family and friends with cornhole and other games.
