A Little Slice of Heaven in Alexander Valley! Glamping has been on our Wishlist for a few years. My husband had to be in California for family reasons, so we took advantage of this opportunity since we live in Boston. We booked a night at the last minute, just so we had a destination and it was a bed to drive to. Since this was our first time Glamping, we were not quite prepared for it to rain. We were so grateful that we chose one of the 2 brand new cabins - because we had heat! So we relaxed on the comfy teak chairs on the front porch for awhile. Then we snuggled up, turned on the heated mattress pad and enjoyed the luxurious bedding in our spotless cabin in the woods. Funny thing, I told my husband the day before that we did not have our own bathroom - you should have seen the look on his face. Happy to report that the bathrooms are very clean, and we both loved their shampoo so much we would love to buy some! Granted it is dark at night so bring a flashlight. It was refreshing to brush our teeth at the outdoor sinks. TIP: We should have gone into their adorable store BEFORE we drove to Healdsburg to bring back dinner. Their store is stocked with the essentials for Glamping - frozen upscale burritos (micro in store), gourmet ice cream & s'mores kits! Of course they have ice, wine and souvenirs & munchies too. The rain did not stop us from walking to the river, steps away. It must be awesome during the summer for swimming and tubing. Outdoor showers near the river entrance on the grass are a nice touch as well. Tons of fun for family and friends with cornhole and other games. When I was a little girl, we camped more times than I can count. My dad always seemed to find the most remote, off-the-beaten-path spot where we'd wash dishes in the stream, build our own designated bathroom, cook everything over the fire, and just have the best time enjoying nature. To me, that's what camping was all about. But then I grew up and *I* was the one responsible to recreate the magic. Camping in general AND taking 4 kids is a LOT of work. They are adults now and I still love camping but no longer want to go through the checklists of preparation to make it happen. Cue: GLAMPING I appreciated the customer service from Wildhaven as my plans changed last-minute and they were very understanding! Their flexibility set the initial stage for our positive experience. Website was easy to navigate and quite informative. Read the FAQs! I'm a local and still found myself looking at the "plan your visit/nearby activities" section. We really do live in a great area! Hubby and I arrived for our anniversary getaway, got checked in, then the host came and gave an overview of Wildhaven. Nice touch! Because it was 45* in January AND a Wednesday, we had the whole place to ourselves. (It was sold out for the weekend so don't let that fool you!) We booked a riverfront site and it was such a beautiful spot! No cars or tents to block our view. After a tour, we lazed in the hammocks, enjoyed wine by the fire, toasted marshmallows, hiked down to the water, grilled up dinner, and waited for night to fall. So relaxing! And SO VERY cold outside for this California girl. LOL The heated mattress pad was definitely on HIGH. Comfortable beds, snuggly pillows/blankets and a space heater were all greatly appreciated! This was not my childhood camping and I was glad! I'll concur with the others in that the Highway is riiiiiight there and traffic seemed nonstop. I'm not a light sleeper and it didn't cause an issue but hubby had a bit harder of a time. In the morning, we woke and stumbled over to the store for our coffee which was just delicious and very appreciated! Tea and hot chocolate were options as well. The communal kitchen has 3 barbecues with side burners but make sure to bring your skillets, utensils, napkins, plates, etc. Sinks with sponges and dish soap made clean up a breeze. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. I'll be the first to admit I was lulled into thinking glamping = "hotel" vs. "camping" and didn't come as prepared as I should have. I forgot minor things like salt/pepper, wine glasses, vessels for leftovers, etc. It all worked out but again, it IS actual camping so be prepared. The whole Wildhaven team did their best to make this experience as pleasant as possible. 4.5 My first time glamping but such a great experience! Some Tips before going: - Plan ahead for your meals in case you want to cook onsite. Each tent comes with it's own picnic table and firepit and there's 3 communal gas grills to use. We brought a butane gas stove with a pot for hot pot. Everything else we were planning to use the grill. - If you're planning to cook, make sure you bring utensils - tongs, forks, plates, bowls, etc. Otherwise, there's plenty of restaurants in the nearby town of Healdsburg. Things to pack: - Flashlight and any portable light sources (there's no light when you're outside your tent) - Flip flops for the shower - Umbrella & waterproof jacket if you're going in the Fall like I did - Regular toiletries like shampoo, toothpaste, body wash, etc. They only provide towels and hand soap. - They provide both a heater and fan in the tent. The heater was plenty warm during the night and I didn't need an extra blanket! The biggest thing to note is that the campsite is off the main road. No matter where your tent is, you'll still hear cars all throughout the night. I wouldn't recommend coming if you're a light sleeper. Otherwise, an awesome chill time! read more

This visit was during the weekend of 7/16-7/18. Pros: The overall campgrounds, restrooms and other facilities were well maintained. The tent my wife and I stayed in was clean and the bed was comfortable. There is a convenience store but with very limited inventory. The site is like 10 minutes away from the city where there are a few full service stores you can purchase any items you may need. Friendly staff will initially greet you at the entrance and give you an overview of the campsite and answer any questions you may have. Cons: If you are light sleeper, this is not the place for you. The tents are probably like 20 feet apart but since they are tents (thick cloth), you can very well hear everything around you. There is a busy highway (which is posted on their website), probably 50 feet away from the last row of tents (where we stayed) but traffic tends to dwindle around 10pm. There are courtesy ear plugs in your tent for a reason. During our stay, there was a group that sounded like teens or young adults that were noisy up until 1am. Posted "Quiet Time is 10am". I felt there wasn't any staff that addressed this group at the time. Conclusion: Will I go back? Probably, but only with a group and only if I can reserve at the farthest row away from the highway (which is the river area). Is it worth the money? During peak season, I would say no. I'm not sure how much would it be for non-peak months or if it would be much cheaper. If alcohol helps you sleep well, then by all means bring some. read more

Wildhaven itself was beautiful. Cozy tents and warm beds with heating individual heating pads, heater, fan, two lamps and decorative string lights. I felt like the best part was coming to a tent that was ready for you and all you really need to worry about is what you're going to eat. The staff were all really friendly. This location also has a mini store that sells ice, firewood, wine and more. Every morning the store offers complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The site is also located really close to vineyards, restaurants and Safeway which is really nice. The location is just beautiful. The river is majestic with fishes. Be sure to check out the river at sunrise and sunset. Here are some things I did wish I knew about prior to booking. You are closer to road than you are to the river. You can hear cars all the time. I tried using the ear plugs at night but they weren't comfortable after a few hours of using them. Where the camp ground is at you cannot see or hear the river. The camp grounds has quiet time, but you can still hear people talking and kids being kids during the 'quiet time'. Also, your neighbors are super close to you. I would say that this would be more of place for younger families. The weekend we stayed there were a lot of kids with their motorized bikes. There are three grills on the property for about 50 tents to use, I would recommend bringing your own grill. The bathrooms and showers were clean when they were tended too however after a few hours, the people staying wouldn't clean up after themselves; ie: toilet paper and covers on the ground, not flushing, sink with toothpaste spit all over it, shower stalls flooded - even with signs asking to keep the shower curtain closed, I think it's common sense to pick up after yourself. If you have a dog that sheds, bring your own bedsheets just incase. They charge a fee for dog hair. Overall, it's a beautiful spot. I do recommend this place for families with young kids. It might not be the most nature friendly spot though. You aren't getting that crispy nature morning smell, not too much to explore or hike. The river once again is beautiful and probably is the star of the show. read more

If it wasn't for COVID, I don't know if I would've thought I'd go glamping. 3 of us came and appreciate all the emails of reminders and thoroughness of their site. We had the premium river view 2 queen tent, and I definitely recommend that if you check this place out. Your own hammock, picnic table, bbq pit, no car in front of you, and direct access to the river. Beautiful grounds and workers are really friendly. We were lucky coming at an off peak weekday time as there were only 3 other tents occupied during our 2 day trip. We really enjoyed our time here, but a couple of cons as people ask if I recommend this place. The yelp reviews talk about the road traffic noise...for a light sleeper like me, it is loud. They do provide earplugs but they've never done well for me. The twinkle light addition in the tent is great, but there's gaps at the top of the tent that attract bugs like mad! The bathroom/shower situation, there's a total of 3 (toilets for men and women, 3 shower stalls) and a handicap stall. When this place is packed I imagine the waits to be a bit. For us, it was great and really clean. The pros is they have a store with firewood, ice, basic necessities you need. The mattresses are heated if you'd like on each side of the bed. Well run, friendly, year round glamping option that is close to Healdsburg and offers direct Russian River access. We stayed Valentine's weekend and they even placed roses on the beds to celebrate the holiday with guests - a gracious touch. Booking & Check-in - Website was easy to browse, very thorough FAQS and marketed details are true to actual experience - check-in was quick at the gate house and a host comes to your tent to greet you individually and warmly. Great touch, helped us feel welcome! Tent - very clean and actually huge. Lots of space to store our stuff and not feel cramped at all. - they offer different tiers of tents so do read their descriptions online on the differences but I'd say even the "basic" price tents are quite nicely equipped so don't worry if the higher priced versions aren't available or you don't want to pay the extra - we booked a riverside tent, which offered the best view and came with dual zone heated mattress pad - WORTH IT!!!! We were worried it would be cold at night dipping into the 40s and the mattress pad made the biggest difference in keeping us warm!! The heater provided is high quality and really warms up the tent if your tent doesn't come with one though the owners may want to consider offering it in more tents as an add-on for those truly concerned about being cold. Location - loved how close it was to town, so you could drive in for lunch/dinner or drop into the local grocery story to pick up ingredients to make dinner on the fire pit. - river access is wonderful and a peaceful walk just steps from the tent. I also really appreciated the owners were thoughtful to cut off car access on the road closest to the river so people, kids, pets can walk around safely. Reality Check - location is shared with an RV park, so you're not just in nature. The RVs are quite close and visible depending on your tent location. RVs were super quiet and didn't pose any issues but definitely noticeable. - road noise is real due to the location. Great they provided ear plugs, really helped at night. Took my family here for a weekend glamping experience. We booked a Two Queen Bed Riverside Tent, which supposed to have a private river access. When we arrived, not only is it dusty and dry in the property, it is also extremely hot. It was over 95 degrees inside the tent and they only provide one small fan, no air circulation or breeze, it was extremely unsafe for elderly, pets, or small kids. The property is right next to the highway and you can hear all the trucks and car sounds 24/7 regardless where part of the property you stay. No activities to do in the property other than the river which is nothing special, also, its infested with mosquitos so as much as we wanted to enjoy it the muddy trail going to the river then hot weather and mosquitos made it difficult. Shower rooms are clean but very tight and small. Beds are small and uncomfortable, they provide thin, cheap sheets and our heated blanket is rough to touch. We did not get any string lights or usb charging ports in our tent. The tents are also close together so we can hear the screaming and crying kids on the tents around us, it was not a quiet or peaceful retreat like we hope for. If you decide to stay here the only way to go is probably rent a cabin since these are the only one with the A/C so please be mindful of the weather when you come visit since they have no other ventilation or cooling system provided in the property. No entertainment or activities provided in the property the weekend we came, just a yoga by the river. This one was a big fail and disappointment we end up cutting our stay short and left in a day even if we paid for 3 days due to the property condition, our dog and kids are overheated all throughout our stay. If you want a good glamping experience, I suggest checking out other places such as Mendocino Grove. Will not recommend coming back here. read more

Saw a lot of ads on IG so had to try this place out for glamping. Here's my feedback based on a 1 night stay on Sunday 11/20: Pros - Clean, well sanitized, bathrooms and wash stations were well kept - Comfortable bed towards the firmer side which we prefer, heated mattress can get very warm Cons - Very loud, didn't mind the street noise from the cars, but the winery fans that kept blowing all night was like having a helicopter hovering right above your tent. Earplugs didn't help much, ended up sleeping with my noise cancelling AirPods - Heater inside the tent barely worked, it was set to maximum 82 but felt like our inside was very similar to outdoor ambient of mid 30s, maybe 40 at best. Body was warm from the bed but face was freezing - One of our lamps didn't work, we told the person working at the store right away and she said she would check if they have another one we can use, or swing by our site to let us know there wasn't one available. She never stopped by. Later the on-site surveillance person stopped by and asked how we were doing - we told him the same thing and he responded that he wasn't able to help. Apparently they have a big stash of broken lamps so they'd need to check one by one. Hopefully they fix it for the next people that use site 21 - Check in was supposed to be 3-7pm, but we got calls and told us if we planned to check in after 5:45 that we needed to notify them separately so they can accommodate. One would assume they needed to be notified after 7 only - Their store is supposed to stay open till 6, but when we went at 5:40 they were already closed. Lights out, doors closed, no one even at the check in booth. Quite early for a camp site tbh. - Coffee / tea / hot chocolates were only available 9-11am. Are they waiting for everyone to check out then offer the complimentary drinks? Lol this is very late for camp folks as many would likely get up by sunrise considering quiet hours start at 10pm. Overall we had an ok experience. FYI we were charged $27 for 2 packs of firewood, so consider bringing your own in. Also, you can bring in your own charcoal to use in the fire pit and grill some food with (not stated otherwise). We would come back sometime in the warmer summer months before fall harvest season to enjoy more of the amenities including river activities, and maybe we would find a date that had live music. read more

What a remarkable, unique experience! My girlfriend, myself, and our pup came here on a quiet, chilly, Tuesday afternoon. Since it was a weekday, there was only a couple other families staying here which was nice. Our tent was very clean and comfortable. I like that the bed they provide was heated which was a nice touch. Even though it was quite cold outside at night, I felt like a toasted marshmallow laying in that bed. I slept like a log through the night. They also provide ear plugs, in case you are a light sleeper. I am a light sleeper and brought my own high-quality ear plugs and slept fine. The bathrooms have flushable toilets and clean showers with HOT water. Yes, hot water. Just wait a few minutes for it to turn hot, then you're good to go. They provide communal hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There is more than one shower. Just in case the one in front is occupied, make sure you look behind the small shower house and there's a couple there. I almost missed them. Our favorite feature was the fire pit. We will be more prepared next time to make a fire (candle lighters) since it was tricky to get it started with matches. But, once it got going, it was warm and cozy. We brought our pup, and he enjoyed the short walk past the bridge that has a nice overlook of the river. We also enjoyed cooking our simple dinner over the fire pit and gas grill. We made hot dogs, chicken and veggie skewers. I recommend planning your meals ahead of time and packing accordingly. We didn't get to try the river tubing, but it's okay. We'll make sure to try it next time! Looks fun! Such a relaxing camping experience without the fuss. F*ck having to pitch a tent and possibly having a meltdown doing it. Lol. Cute glamping spot right next to the russian river, with backyard access to a private swimming hole of the river. Up to 2 dogs are allowed for an extra $30/day, per dog. The place is fairly new so the tents and buildings are still nice and clean. Plenty of showers and bathrooms to use. Showers are nice, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided. Towels are provided for every human as well. As far as my stay has been, it seems like they clean the bathrooms and showers daily. The bad thing is that the showers easily leak water onto the floor of the shower/bathroom structures so they are sometimes flooded, so you'll be walking in puddles inside. I worry that there may be a mold/mildew problem in the future because of the poor ventilation in some of those structures. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They have complimentary coffee and tea in the mornings at the general store. The store is small but neat, with ice cream popsicles, ice, small bday cakes, Wildhaven clothing, snacks, and drinks. Their craft beer/alcohol selection is actually pretty decent, with great choices from local breweries. The river access is great, walk a minute and you're there. The bad thing is that spots by the river are limited. I walked along both sides of the river to find better and more private little spots but there are only a few decent ones. The water is pretty shallow for the most part. Mostly rocky beach. There is also a lot of spots with algae on the shore so if you have a dog, you have to be careful where you play. Not a lot of hiking options within this spot. If you're here to float down the river, it's not a bad place to start. Or if you're willing to drive out to town, there are a couple other nicer river beaches / access points. You can cook here with the grills provided or with your own grill, or you can be like us and be lazy this time and just drive 10 min into town to try out Healdsburg's famous restaurant scene. Nice place to chill and relax overall! I wanted to update the review to give them 5 stars because of how attentive they are when you tell them about the things they need to be fixed. Easily reachable by text. When sinks were clogged, they responded in less than an hour and fixed them up. An experience to remember! We booked during the weekdays right before Mother's Day weekend. The rate was a bit cheaper and there was hardly anyone else tenting near us. The goods: + Beautiful location among trees and walking distance to the Russian River + Week day visit meant only one small group near us by the river. It was otherwise empty. + Spacious tent to fit a family of 4. Comfortable bed with heating pad. Cots for the kiddos and wifi to access music that lulled them to sleep. + Dedicated fire pit for grilling or roasting marshmallows. We bought the s'mores pack from the on site market but I'd recommend bringing your own to save $$. + Dedicated picnic table, hammock and porch furnishings. + Hella clean bathrooms with real flushable toilets. My husband and I came here on our last night in California. We spent the week in San Fran and then of course wanted to check out beautiful Sonoma before we left. They have a couple different options that you can choose from, we kind of booked a little late so we need up with the tent that had two beds in there, and it was the best thing that we could have done to end our trip. You could buy firewood, they have board games you could play. They had outdoor kitchen that was available with grills. The bathrooms were very nice, but waking up at 1:30am and having to go was not so fun but we managed. All of the beds have a heated mattress pad that was absolutely needed and kept us so warm. The tents were great, it had a heater that was inside, there was electric outlets to charge your phone. It was a great experience and everyone should try it out. Each tent had its own fire pit right in front, and some even had hammocks. Great walk to the river. read more

We had an amazing weekend at Wildhaven Sonoma. Our group had 12 families with a bunch of teenage kids. Everyone had a great time. The grown ups loved the fact that no one had to pitch tents. They loved the heated mattresses, the clean bathrooms and hot showers. The kitchen and event tent were really good options for our group to get together, chat or play cards. The BBQ grill and stove made cooking easy for the group. Kids and grown ups equally loved the river and tubing. The water wasn't cold and the river was shallow enough in most sections along the campsite that we didn't have to worry about the kids and could let them just have fun. Todd did an amazing job helping us with booking options. He managed to find tents for all of us in the same section so we could all be together. Derek, the camp site host helped our group manage quiet time expectations. The event tent was far enough from the tent that we could gather there as a group and not disturb the rest of the campers. The tubes for rent at the store was the right kind of fun of our group needed. Everyone at the store were extremely helpful Bethany did an amazing job coordinating with me on check in day to make sure we had everything ready for our group. This place is an absolute gem! My young daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed what was our first visit (with many more to come) during spring break week. I can't get over how EASY of an experience we had. Wildhaven provides the tent, the grill/fire pit, bedding, interior lighting), a fan, portable heater, and basic toiletries in their super clean and private showers. You can buy firewood and s'mores kits there. They have a store on site for incidentals and the best part was private access to a river that was surprisingly warm for early April and safe for kids; particularly those who can swim. Their quiet hours are strictly enforced (thank you) and the property is kept very clean. Dogs are allowed and the hosts are very accessible if you have questions. Thank you Isabella for help with the reservation (and the cooler bag) and Eric for helping us out with a lantern (do not forget to bring one). The hospitality was world class. Our first glamping experience and it was lovely! Tucked away in Sonoma County, Wildhaven is an experience for those of us who want to camp but not in the traditional way. I wanted the experience of a campfire, making s'mores with my daughter and sleep in a "tent" but where I don't necessarily need to worry about bugs. This tent was so lovely! The beds were comfortable with heated pads and a space heater. We enjoyed the campfire till midnight watching the stars without really worrying about any wild animals. So it was in the "wild" but not the actual "wild". The bathrooms were nice and clean which was so important to me esp. during Covid times! The owners were super nice and checked in on us to see if we needed anything. It has everything you and your family need for camping experience. They are looking to expand and do more in the coming months esp for kids and adults outdoor entertainment! You can rent board games and buy snacks there as well. If you want real meal the restaurants are about 10 min drive away. Healdsburg has some pretty amazing restaurants. We also went on a short hike not long of a drive from the area. I haven't camped in YEARS, and this was my first experience glamping. I booked this super last minute (for a Monday night), after a Yosemite trip fell through. The check in process was super simple, they had my parking pass ready to go and easy instructions on the amenities - even a map of where our tent was! The parking spot is directly behind your tent for easy loading/unloading. They even have s'mores kits :) The tent was immaculate, the bed was comfortable and they had a heater and fan! The bathrooms are super clean (no dirt or spiders) as are the showers. We went in June, so at 3pm the tent is a bit stuffy but no matter! Grab your suit and head down to the private Russian River pebble beach. Amazing! (Though a cooling mist fan will also help you). Check out was really simple as well. Go. Just go. Are you a camping enthusiast or more of a glamper like me? I'm not made for roughing it in the wilderness, so I really appreciated the fact that we slept on heated memory foam mattresses, and that I could take hot showers. This is the perfect place to glamp with little ones since it's just a short drive into town for essentials. My 8 month old and my 6 year old had a blast! Such a beautiful time unwinding at WildHaven on a last minute trip. We booked the Riverside Queen which was really nice and actually so much warmer than we anticipated. Absolutely LOVED having the personal fire pit with cooking grills. We had so much fun starting the fire and when we ran out, we just easily texted the on-site manager and was brought some more. The bathrooms and showers are so so clean and well kept! It does get a little bit loud at night from the noise on the street but nothing extensive. Overall, we had such a great time and my fur baby had the most fun just running around and enjoying the fresh air. read more

Wildhaven Sonoma was exactly what I needed for my pandemic birthday celebration. If you're not sure about camping, try glamping here. Our riverside tent was cozy enough despite the unusually chilly weather and was helped by the heat warming mattress-peak coziness was achieved. The staff were lovely. The campgrounds itself is spacious and there are tons of little plc The package we selected came with s'mores, but the sweetest touch was placing us in tent 35 for my 35th birthday. We spent one day/night at wildhaven sonoma to celebrate my birthday and absolutely loved it. The tents are very cool. Bathroom/shower is clean. Best Glamping Experience Ever !!! Don't spend too much time reading the reviews. Just book yourself a weekend and go. This place is good if you are taking baby steps to camping. The tents are big, lots of blankets, a small space heater, small lamps and tables inside, and a super comfy bed. I would say you feel like you're in a boutique hotel rather than being outdoors. The campgrounds itself is well clean and well taken care of. The 2 person tent I stayed in was just enough space. There is a private front patio, grill (bring a yeti cooler with some steaks, potatoes and pancakes for breakfast) and tables so you don't have to share with other visitors. The bathrooms are shared but if you're lucky there are individual shower/ bathroom combo rooms too. I didn't find it crowded so I was able to use them during my stay. A nice getaway and so worth it. I would make it a monthly thing if I could. Honestly just love being outdoors and exploring the area. Happy Glamping. read more

We were a ble to enjoy so much of what Wildhaven had to offer during a trip with 4 other families in February of 2022! First off, the location is awesome!! The grounds are kept immaculately clean, it's right along the Russian River and Wildhaven is centrally located to so many things to enjoy in the area. The facilities were kept very clean, the water was always hot and grills worked amazingly well. Yes, there is road noise at night, but honestly, so many reviews have already mentioned it, and it's mentioned on the website and in the emails that are sent when you have a reservation, anyone being surprised by it should only have themselves to blame. If you're a light sleeper, bring headphones, earplugs, swabs of cotton, or just a bottle of good bourbon or wine and make sure you block out that noise! The tents were a fun experience, we booked a family tent with a bed and two sets of bunks for the kids. The bed was surprisingly SO COMFORTABLE!!!! It was freezing cold, like body-shaking, bone-chilling cold the first night but once you crawled in, it was nice and toasty. I honestly slept so peacefully both nights. My only recommendations and points of criticism were better pillows (bring one from home if you're picky about your pillow) and that the rolling heater in the tent didn't really do much to heat the interior (but we wore base layers for the cold and once you got in the bed, the blankets kept you warm). I could write PAGES about how enjoyable our two nights at this amazing campground were but I don't think anyone has patience to read it all. Just do yourself, your family, your dog (we had 3 dogs in our group, a husky and two doodles, and they all had a great time!) and your friends a favor and book some quality time at Wildhaven already!! Special thank you to the staff for keeping everything so clean, always having a smile and making the experience that much more enjoyable! This place wins the "close but not cigar" award. Our cabin was nice and comfortable; highly recommend the "riverside" locations since the rest are in an area that feels more like a crowded parking lot than the great outdoors. My biggest issue with this place is the inadequate bathrooms and showers. Not enough of them to accommodate the amount of people and missing any creature comforts associated with "glamping." Very bare bones. Not even a trash can in the shower area. Other challenge if this place is the location; the main beach area is directly under a major road. I was hoping for a more immersive nature experience at the gorgeous Russian river and less traffic noise. read more

Great place for glamping that isn't too expensive. Tents are very nice with electrical sockets. Can get hot in the summer (check the weather). Kids enjoyed the water play area at the river. Showers are pretty good for camping, bathrooms are ok. Kids enjoyed the stay, including making a campfire and toasting marshmallows. Not too far a drive from civilization (Healdsburg), and we also drove to a nearby castle winery, which was fun. A very nice Hawaiian family (thank you!) allowed us to borrow their tubes for kids to float on the river. Would recommend serious tubes, and not the cheaper ones they sell at Target/Walmart. read more

This weekend we got to experience the magic that is @wildhavensonoma. Not only were we in the heart of Sonoma wine country , but this beautiful escape offers all the camping experience without pitching your own tent, and they up the luxury with a soft queen size bed, fan, heater, wifi, fire pit, showers, bathroom and many more. But my favorite part of all of this was being less than 30 seconds walk to the Russian River creek. This beautiful escape less than 2hrs drive from the peninsula, with extraordinary wine tasting experience. If you're looking for a weekend getaway to relax or something romantic, I strongly recommend checking out what @wildhavensonoma has to offer with wineries every turn. Needless to say the boys and I are headed back this fall for some Autumn festivities but more importantly to relax to the sound of nature. As someone who loves the best of both worlds. I can honestly say my expectations were met and more. Seeing how much Franco enjoyed himself, being able to work remotely while relaxing by the water made this getaway even better. @wildhavensonoma thanks so much for having the boys and I this weekend we can't wait come back again. read more

Children. Dogs. Late night speakers. Loved: Nature. Wine. Regional park hike. Lighter load - No packing tent or bedding. Beds very comfortable. Firewood for $13 was convenient. Pre-arrival FAQs and check-in very helpful. Did not love: ~50 tents/RV spots sardined. Shared facilities. Parking not all adjacent to tent sites. Not expected.  Noisy: wanted to sleep, but tolerated two genres of loud music until 9:59pm, 10 feet from our pillows. Earplugs just weren't enough. Terrible start. Kids learned some new colorful language, thanks. High 63, low 37. Heater did not provide comfort, day or night. We all slept terribly with 2 layers of full clothing including hoods and socks. Live ticks - we found 3 on the pup. Just be aware. Not in Sonoma city, but 60 minutes north. Staff on-site, including housekeeping, were friendly. Overall, a conflicting ambience. For families? Parties? Couples? We were hoping to relax in nature, but packed up ASAP (before 8am). Just not for us. Tips: We loved a picnic and walk at Riverfront Regional Park and Flakey Cream Donuts in Healdsburg. read more

I was a little worried because the weather was supposed to drop below freezing that night, but the heater and heated blankets had me sleeping like a baby all night. I came here for a mini nature getaway with my dog on Monday. This is such a beautiful location that is close to the water and provides all your camping outdoor needs. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating to my requests during my stay. (super appreciate you guys!) I originally booked the riverside tent but as I arrived I noticed I was sandwiched in between two families with multiple children. Being solo with my dog was not an ideal situation for what I had envisioned for a relaxing night. Once I got to the sight I requested to switch tents if the option was available and the staff worked with me to relocate to a premium tent. It was a much better fit for me and helped make our stay perfect! It's super close to a walk-down area to the river and each tent has a designated picnic table and fire pit. I was able to purchase firewood through the woman that checked us in and they even delivered it to my site! Everyone staying at the campgrounds was friendly and respected the quiet time after 10 pm rule. It was a very chill stay and I will definitely be coming back soon with some friends. **I will note that most people that booked the riverside tents were families with children. It's possible it was a coincidence during the night I stayed but want to flag to anyone this could be helpful to. read more

Absolutely terrible place to get away from a noisy city. DO NOT COME HERE if you want to rest and sleep well. This is right on a busy road and it echoes the cars until they finally pass. It feels like you're right on the road. If your VERY close neighbors are respectful of the 10pm noise rule you might get to sleep but then a motorcycle or loud truck will drive by. And not just one or two, every 2-3 minutes! There's so many kids! This is for families. The kids run around your tent and scream at 6:30-7am and nobody seems to care!? There are all kinds of birds that start squawking and pecking on your tent beams around 6am. I am so exhausted from my stay here. I will never EVER come back to this place. $200 a night to be tortured all night and morning!! So much for trying to get some peace and quiet coming from from a loud city. read more

Late review from our first visit here last August 2021. We stayed here from Wednesday to Friday so as we were checking out, I knew there were more people checking in and it's a popular spot. We got the standard 2 queen beds and since we were with another family, we were able to request the week of if we can be next to them. Yes the tents are close next to each other. You can hear other people's conversation if you're trying to listen but if you're having fun, you won't really mind them. We had to park walking distance from our tent which was a bummer but doable. Expect kids here. It's glamping! Maybe I'm speaking from a parent's perspective but camping is fun. Kids like camping. If there are kids, expect that there might be crying daytime or night time. If you want an adult glamping experience, maybe go another time or go backpacking. Facilities are well maintained. What we really like about this place is having an access to the Russian River. We went when it was really hot so that cold river was much appreciated. I could see it getting crowded on weekends but you can walk down more to find more space. We got to our spot pretty early and pretty much stayed there the whole day. They have picnic areas right by the gate into the river. We had lunch there and went back into the river. Oh yea the bed was comfortable. More comfortable than hotel beds. We had great sleep coz it was nice and warm in our tent. We're coming back this summer. read more
