Date of visit: March 23, 2025…read more How funny that we visited Bakehouse 23 on the 23rd! Totally not intentional but glad that we did stop by as both of the things that I tried were excellent. First up, location and staff. This is truly a neighborhood bakery so expect to pull in, grab some things, and dash off. I believe they have some tables for the summer but in March there's just no place to sit and enjoy your items, so keep that in mind. It's a family affair behind the counter with the young gentleman reminding me of helping my mom bus tables as a waitress many years ago. He was polite and efficient, two great things you don't see in young 'uns these days! Most importantly, the goods! Sundays are cinnamon roll days and that is where it's at, people. They are ready by 9 am and when we grabbed them this morning, they were still warm! We took them to the Starbucks on Drexel because of the aforementioned seating challenge and they were still warm and also delicious. Easily one of the best rolls I've ever had--and I am nothing if not a bread connoisseur. I also snagged a peanut butter cup for later (later being noon...) and it was phenomenal. Don't sleep on this place--honestly, how am I the first one reviewing it!--if you're anywhere in the southern hemisphere of Milwaukee, it's a gem!

We stopped by Better Together Cafe recently for some coffee and breakfast on a late Saturday morning. I ordered their pistachio latte which was a sweet nutty delight. Truly one of the best pistachio lattes I've had in the area. For my meal, I got their caprese sandwich which was delicious. It's made with pesto (instead of fresh basil) but no complaints here--the pesto was delicious and the sandwich was hearty and tasty. The parking is on site is on site and convenient. The service was above and beyond friendly. Get to it!

I haven't visited this location in a while but was reminded today of my last experience. It was the end of august and i was craving a s'mores latte with none in season at the time at any major coffee shop. I decided to stop into Better Together as id been there before and remember having lots of customization options. I shoot out of my car through the doors and to the cashier and plead "is there any way you could make me a s'mores latte" with ease and a smile the barista/cashier replies YES. This location also of stickers, art, and trinkets to shop along front area to shop while you wait. Small sitting area but I'm sure it is just right for those who have claimed it as their hang out spot or daily ritual. Im just a bit more introverted personally. Great local business here!

The lady rattled off the usual muffins and I stopped her at raspberry because I don't think that I have ever had a raspberry muffin before. The idea of a fresh raspberry muffin intrigued me and I couldn't wait to try it. My first impression was the muffin was slightly sweet and then the tart kicks in from the fresh raspberries. I have had sweet muffins in the past but I don't think I have had a tart muffin before and I really liked it. Wow I would definitely stop over when I see a booth again and try something different that I have never had before.

Crumbl Cookies Pumpkin Cheesecake Cookie: Crumbl rotates their flavors on a weekly basis but…read moredepending on the flavor some are absolutely amazing. Crumbl's official description for this one is "A chilled buttery graham cookie layered with pumpkin cheesecake frosting and graham cracker streusel topping." I love anything pumpkin this time of year and my location didn't have this one last fall, so I've been watching in anticipation for it for quite some time. The cookie is dense, satisfyingly chewy, and cool (it's served chilled). There's a hint of graham cracker flavor to the cookie, but the real star of the show is the pumpkin cream cheese frosting. Crumbl acolytes know the power of that phenomenal cream cheese frosting (sweet and perfectly tangy) and this time there's an additional pumpkin favor blended in. The aroma instantly conjures thoughts of pumpkin pie. If I have one complaint about the cookie it's this, mine did not have enough streusel topping. Crumbl's stock photo shows a teeming circle of streusel in the center of the cookie like an island in an ocean of pumpkin cream cheese frosting. If you look at mine there is only a scant amount. In retrospect, I should have said something while I was in the store, but I was in a hurry and thought maybe I was being too picky. The more pics I see of other people's cookies though, the more I feel short changed. At $5 a cookie, you need to do better with quality control Crumbl. I would expect this from somewhere like McDonald's or BK, but for a shop where appearance is a major selling point, this is disappointing. Doughboy approved , but only because of the phenomenal pumpkin cream cheese frosting (just okay service) Doughboy_Food_Reviews My Top Crumbl Cookies: 1. Caramel Popcorn 2. Salted Caramel Cheesecake 3. Pumpkin Cheesecake 4. Cake Batter/Birthday Cake 5. Mallow Sandwich ft. OREO
