I do NOT give 5 stars often, but Wildfire is definitely one of my favorite restaurants. Upscale and somewhat conservative (dark oak, stone and brass appointments--like a gentlemen's cigar-bar sans the cigars); without being overly-stuffy or Republican feeling. This place is a great diversion from all the swanky, pseudo-uber-sexy-nouveau-riche restaurants that are popping up on every corner. The staff acts like they are stock-option invested in the place--very gracious, very attentive...very nice. The drinks are to die for! I've had everything from Cosmos and Apple Martinis to Manhattan and Old-Fashions, and I've never been disappointed. What I've had that made me a permanent fan, however: shrimp & crab bisque, the calamari, the long island duck and the spit roasted turkey. Incredible! But the reason I go, the reason I still remember Wildfire even after I've moved and have lived in D.C. for nearly five years? The Surf and Turf--a filet mignon and a crab crusted lobster tail. I once heard this was one of Micheal Jordan's favorite restaurant, and now I know why. In my quest to conquer the big time steakhouses, I had to stop by here to see what all the fuss is about. You walk in to a very nice classy though family friendly décor. Everything on the menu looked good. On the specials menu I got the filet trio, medium well, which everyone talks about and it was great. Ps the parmesan crust was the best. The Au gratin side was nice and cheesy. You have to get dessert. I got the apple crisp pie and is was prb one of the best apple pies I ever ate. Overall with drinks, steak, dessert expect to run 50+$$ which I heard is cheaper then some of the other big steak places as for which is best ill have to get back to u on that. Had the best steak of my life here. I had the ribeye! My husband had the prime rib (22oz) and he loved it as well. I had spinach and artichoke fondue and he had calamari and it was all wonderful. Let me preface this review by saying that I've been here before and I wanted to love it here this time around. I'm a big fan of classy, upscale, stylish restaurants with diverse, creative menu items. Let me tell you, Wildfire is not any of these things. In this day and age, any restaurant worth its salt (see what I did there?) should offer a more diverse menu. There should be vegetarian, vegan and gluten free menu items available-yes, even at a steakhouse. Sadly, there were no such items available on Wildfire's very limited menu. The seafood and pasta menu was paltry at best and there were maybe ten beers on tap and fifteen draught beers. What a pathetic selection. This is a classic case of a restaurant trying to survive on brand recognition only. Maybe Wildfire has expanded beyond the actual business that it is capable of handling (i.e. gotten too big for its britches). Maybe some big chain of bland restaurants bought it up. Who knows? Whatever the case may be, I was less than impressed. The ambience-rather than upbeat and energetic-seemed over crowded and extremely loud. Here was almost no room to walk between tables out of the restaurant floor. Tables were jammed side to side and back to back throughout. There was absolutely no privacy. It seems that Wildfire did their best to cram people in like sardines no matter what the cost to the exclusive atmosphere and private, classy ambience that once went hand in hand with the Wildfire name. There were even young children eating there. This is most certainly not a restaurant where high chairs and kiddie menus are appropriate. I'm not paying upwards of $50 for my portion of the meal so that I can sit around and listen to screaming children. The bathrooms were a mess. They were certainly not what one would expect from an upscale restaurant-even a chain restaurant. Although the food was fairly good and the portions were large, nothing screamed "eat me" (lol). It was all mostly just passable. The waiter, who was very nice-as were the rest of the staff, which is mainly why I'm awarding Wildfire the three stars that I am-seemed very attentive at first and then rather than turning our table with two people who were only waiting for the check and dessert, chose to attend to order taking at a table of no less than seventeen people. Color me unimpressed with that lapse in judgment. Overall, not the experience I had hoped for for my last big dinner out before my surgery this week. I should've headed down the way to Seasons 52 or Shaw's Crab House. Heck, even Cooper's Hawk would've been perfect. Growing up, I always heard Gibson's and Wildfire mentioned in the same sentence. No more. The difference is very clear! The best part of our experience was the helpful waiter who went out of his way to bring us our check when our waiter left us hanging and the kindly people at the host stand who held our table for us even though we arrived late due to bad directions. read more

Not a cheap restaurant but not the most expensive either. Want to impress someone with a classy style and really scrumptious food - go to Wildfire. We get their carry out Cobb Salad (2 large ones) every pay day. I've had their Salmon and a couple other dishes and have never been disappointed. You might want to call ahead to make sure on a Friday or Saturday night there is not a long wait. Again, want to impress a business partner, a potential spouse, your new in laws - this is THE PLACE. Service can run slower, this isn't a fast food joint. If i won the State Lottery, I'd go here more often. Also, many people wear nice business attire or dress up but you can dine in style in nice jeans and a nice shirt just as well. When we have gone (dinner) more people dress up like you would for a business meeting. These folks have a real good chef that knows how to prepare good, fresh, high quality food. read more

Prices have increased and yet they have kept their 3% "Covid" fee but slyly renamed it as a "processing fee". While you have the option to ask them to remove that fee, that is very awkward. They are the only restaurant we've encountered who have this fee and am not a fan. read more

Ambiance: Nice modern interior with dark heavy wooden tables with what my fiancé told me were purse hooks on the corner of each. Dark furniture was contrasted by light pastel walls. Lighting was not obnoxiously dim, everything was clean as the staff was BUSTLING. These guys are super efficient turning tables over but it never felt rushed or chaotic, I was really impressed. Food: Also impressive! The bread was super fresh and tasted like a cheez-it puff pastry with molten cheese in the middle. Could have eaten a whole basket by myself easily. I had the fish tacos which were excellent: warm corn tortillas served with a small filet of well seasoned fish sitting on a bed of baked tiny corn kernels. This is served with a side of shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, a dallop of sour cream, guacamole and their homemade salsa. Overall everything tasted very clean and fresh, the deconstructed presentation meant you to get to assemble your tacos however you like which is fun. To nitpick the meal, the corn was over-cooked which meant it was a little chewy and dry and the kernels lodged themselves in every crevasse in my mouth. The fish filet while deliciously seasoned was a touch dry and about the size of my palm for 4 tacos, could've used an extra ounce or two of fish for $16. The homemade salsa added excellent moisture and mild earthy smokiness but could've used a little more heat/flavor IMO. The guac was forgettable but filled with thick chunks of avocado which i love. Despite all my nit-picks though, my tacos were delicious and weaknesses of one component were compensated by others from the dish. I would not hesitate to order this dish again. Finally, I shared a rainbow roll which was good - the fish was fresh, the rice was the perfect texture, you get about 8 pieces for a full order and it was served with a spicy mayo sauce which was nice. Overall I really enjoyed my meal and would gladly come here more often if my wallet could support it. Really the only thing preventing this place from 5 stars is a lack of 'value'. They intend for this place to be ritzy and they charge you for it, the good thing is that they deliver what they promise. read more

I have to talk about this buffalo burger. I'm a clean eater, however was talked into this burger. It comes with arugula and Caramelized onions. That's it. Do not put catchup on it, nope, no mustard. What's not to like? My kind of place, this rest'raunt is (sung to the tune of "My Kind Of Town, Chicago Is"). A pleasant, festive atmosphere, spacious and comfortable inside, attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff. Prices were comparable to better Dallas-area restaurants. Valet service was advertised, but my party found a spot in the back. The menu and winelist were impressive. I had the Prime Rib, which was prepared to perfection. My side dish, potatoes au gratin was very tasty, but the portion was quite small - I could have wished for more. The bar service was really good - my Beefeater martini was perfect. We were comfortably able to find room for dessert. What I had wanted was sold out :( but the substitute, creme brulee, was admittedly delicious. Next time I visit the area I intend to return and try more yummy offerings. read more

The food is delicious! We ordered carry out and and all the food was amazing. The staff on the other hand didn't seem to want to help with the carry out or care to explain in a polite fashion where to actually pick it up. The bartender was nice but hostesses seemed rude. We will be back for the food but leery of the service staff. We've also dined in and enjoyed the experience. The server was much more helpful and knowledgeable than the hostesses mentioned above. The interior is a very cool, retro decor. They have many different "dining rooms" and we've only been in one, but I forget what the name was. Always solid food when I've been here for work. The filet's are my standard and they're pretty juicy. One plus is on Passover (Jewish holiday.... Jesus' last supper was a Passover Sedar, so there's your bit of trivial pursuit for the day) they offer matza since Jewish people cannot eat bread. We ate here Saturday night before seeing Dave Attell at The Improv. This was a great dining experience. The service was friendly and uber-professional, the ambience and spacious dining area made the whole experience such a pleasure. Deb had the Filet Mignon Wellington; I had the Filet crusted horseradish. We were amused to the see the same service cues from our waiter that we have seen at other Lettuce Entertain You restaurants. They really have the quality service thing nailed. We were seated a tad close to one of the entrances to the kitchen, that is the only thing we could complain about. Love this place! Nothing beats a good steak. Visited on a birthday and made reservations for a large table. The waitress handled everything flawlessly. Decor is nice. Had the pretzel, calimari and spinach / artichoke fondue. All I can say is.. awesome. The pretzel was so fresh and SUPER soft inside. It was ridiculously good. The calimari was also not overly battered, and very fresh. Not chewy. The Dip was amazing as well. My wife had the chicken and St. Louis rib combo. The sauce used on both was very different, yet tangy in a good way. Very tasty. I had the ribeye / stuffed shrimp combo that was on special. The steak was cooked just perfect. Nothing irks me more than when they overcook my steak. The shrimp were actually a pretty large size. Came with your choice of sides. I had mine with asparagus. I definitely had food coma! read more

Came here on a Monday night, post work. Hadn't been to this particular Wildfire but it's a carbon copy of all the others and that's a good thing imo. I really like the atmo at WF's as they are dark and clubby with nice lighting and comfy seating, and even though they are always bustling with activity, with an open kitchen in the back, the noise level is subdued due to excellent acoustics. Another great thing about Wildfire is they always have some solid specials, and if you are in the mood to just snack, take advantage of their 1/2 price apps which go til 6p. Monday's also come with 1/2 price bottles of wine and we chose an excellent Malbec for 22$. Awesome longtime Vet server "?" (can't recall her name but she was insanely well informed and loved her job) recommended a bunch of things....one we went with were the Horseradish encrusted Oysters which were amaze. She, wanting a salad chose the famed WF Chopped, also delicious and completely delivered. I chose the Steak Sandwich that actually didn't look particularly great to the eye (it was a fairly thin cut and even though ordered Med Rare looked more Med/Med Well...the reality was it didn't matter. It was a very tender cut of tenderloin which melted in your mouth, excellent flavor all around with a pesto sauce, arugala, red onion and mozzarella on a toasted ciabatta. I subbed creamed spinach for fries which was good, not off the charts good but tasty all the same. Had a nice and quiet business lunch while we sat at a booth in the bar. Vassi was our server and she did a great job. She went over all the specials and made suggestions. We had the Schnitzel sandwich on special and the steak sandwich. My suggestion is to not cut the sandwich in quarters, but just in half. It gets a little messy when the food is falling out after you take a bite. Also, the fries are a little too greasy. Exceptional and people know this. People were jam packed in here on Tuesday night. I tried to be cynical and not appear as a country bumpkin from Iowa who was easily impressed by the first suburban Chicago chain restaurant I've been to this year. I'm being sincere in saying that this place has it together. Superb selection of steakhouse fare, daily specials and salads. I was not in the mood for a heavy red-meat laden meal, and was blown away by a deep selection of seafood. I settled on the crabcake-trout which was on par on the very best seafood creations I would expect to find at a high-end restaurant that specializes in seafood. I go here probably once a month with my mom for martini flights! I think that is the greatest part of it! I've only been there once for an actual meal, which was just okay. But I went a long time ago for their dinner meal so maybe it's different now. Now whenever I go, my mom and I usually sit in the bar during happy hour and have martini flights and half off appetizers. The appetizers are really good. We always get the chicken and portabella mushroom skewer and the artichoke dip. Both are so amazing. We've also had the goat cheese appetizer too. Also nummy! The staff members are always very friendly too. We've had a girl there a few times and she always remembers us and chats with us about things. Really personable! If you like martini's, definitely hit it up for the flight if nothing else. They are really really good. My favorite is the raspberry martini and the stormy night. I'll have to try out their dinner food again too... but only if I have a gift card, it's pretty pricy during the regular hours which is why we hit up half off appetizers in the bar (4-6). read more

It was entirely too oily, the butter just pooled in the bottom of the dish. The chopped salad was swimming in dressing and the Brussels sprouts were oily as well. Wildfire - Schaumburg is a great place to have dinner with people you don't really want to have dinner with (think extended in-laws or your aunt's friends from out of town). The dining room is incredibly loud, making conversation difficult if not impossible, and there is nothing on the menu that will either wow you or frighten the insipid tastes of your dining companions. They do a great presentation on everything, but the food and service don't quite live up to the appearances. Serving the spinach and artichoke dip in a little fondue pot is clever, but it's still the same stuff you get at TGI Friday's. Ribs and steaks are good if not mind-blowing (and occasionally charred) but reasonably priced. In sharing entrees and sides with two other people, the only thing that made me say, "Hey, this is really good!" was a side of creamed spinach. The portion sizes are generous though. It's easy to spend too much money here on an experience that is largely forgettable. read more

This place is not bad at all. The place is always packed with people waiting for tables if they did not reserve ahead of time. We had a party of 11 for 5:30pm reservations and received one of the small private rooms. I prefer to be in the normal dining area to people watch but the private room was nice and fit all with room to spare. The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable of their menu and different types of sauces. Well I got there about 20 minutes late and picked their special which was 3 pieces of filet mignon with 3 different toppings (horse raddish, garlic, XXXX) totally forgot the last one. I asked for medium rare but it was more medium than rare. I probably should have asked for rare. My side was broccoli which was ok. Overall I wasn't too impressed with the filet mignon, id give it a 3.5/5 stars. Also had soup which I give 5/5 stars it was sometype of shrimp cream soup? Calamari was ok as well but nothing special. The desserts on the other hand were great. Between 11 of us we choose 3-4 different desserts ranging from ice cream on top of cookies, peanut butter cake, ice cream on top of fruits and cereal, and banana coconut pie. Sorry I dont recall the names. The icecream with cookies and banana cocunut pie topped my list. Then peanut butter cake and ice cream on top of fruits and cereal. Id consider Wildfire again but if you want a quiet dining experience, Wildfire is not the place for you. It is relatively loud and the wait seems to be long. The bar was very busy and was almost shoulder to shoulder. I give it 3.5 stars but rounded up to 4. I am sure if I went again, ill enjoy it more the second time around. read more

My first, but not the last time to visit this establishment... as soon as we drove up, we knew we were in for trouble! The parking lot was plugged on a Tuesday night, so we valeted it, then waited to be seated. As I walked past the reception area and into the dining area, the kitchen immediately caught my eye ~ FIRE! The place is beautiful, the setting is romantic/fun, and the service is impecible to say the least! The bread, appetizers, dinners, desserts, I could go on... This was my first time going to Wildfire and I will definitely go again!!! It was busy and there was a wait so if you make a reservation they seat you in less than five minutes. Our waitress was fantastic...she knew the specials and when we placed our order she suggested wines to go with our food and was able to describe the taste of each wine suggested. The atmosphere was energetic and the dining room it self has a dark romantic feel to it even though i was there with friends it was still nice. The steak didn't need any sauce it was excellent and full of flavor. The desserts were awesome the creme brulee was not super sweet and that made it even more satisfying. I need to preface this review with the fact that this was more about our waiter than it was the food. I have eaten at Wildfire in several locations and am usually pleased. I was not the host of the 8 people I was dining with last evening. This was a business dinner and we had a private room which is quite nice. I am not sure I ever heard or did not understand our waiters name. He had a strong accent which was difficult to comprehend. We were offered cocktails, at that time our host who is very knowledgeable of wine asked for the wine list. the waiter proceeded to condescend to our host, about how difficult the wine list was to understand and offered there house wine as an alternative. that set the tone for the rest of the evening. We eventually overlooked it, but the servers attitude was indifferent and less than friendly. At some point I would have spoken to the manager, but did not want to defect from our hosts evening. We will go back, the food is consistently good, and normally the service is better. read more

In town on business and an associate and I visited Wildfire. We chose to,use Open Table and there was no wait for our reservation. Perfect. The inside is very upscale and comfortable feeling. Massive booths and tables. Our server (Mary F) was outstanding! she gave us our time to order and she patiently answered every question we had. Service was steady and no long waits. The food was amazing. The small side salad was enormous and so fresh and delicious. Piled high with lots of veggies. I had the petite filet cooked perfectly and a large fluffy baked potato. My companion had the Roumanian skirt steak. Portions, again, huge. He said it was delicious and juicy. He had the potatoes Au Gratin. They looked great too. Oh the bread! Specifically the corn bread (they bring it out at the beginning) meal it was just wonderful just a tad sweet and perfectly cooked . Okay so we were full but when Mary strutted that dessert tray over to our booth we were smitten! They all looked amazing but I went easy on my tummy and got the Creme brûlée he had apple streusel pie with ice cream and caramel. (Again, huge). Service was literally flawless. I've had the pleasure of eating at Wildfire several times, usually at the Schaumburg location but also have eaten at the downtown location a couple of times too. This review pertains to Schaumburg. Consistency is probably the one word that comes to mind. Consistently VERY good. I usually always get the Filet Mignon when there and they have always cooked it exactly as I've ordered. Another favorite of mine is their Chopped Salad. OMG it's the best salad I've ever eaten, anywhere! The servers I've been fortunate enough to get have all been very pleasant, friendly and attentive. Frankly, I don't think you can go wrong with Wildfire. Make a reservation well in advance because it's obvious from the crowds, plenty of others believe as I do. read more
