Shrimp ceviche
Kshama P.

Getting here (3/5): Reservations via OpenTable, easy access. The desk is located inside and not easily visible. Stairs to restrooms. No street Parking nearby, lot which is a block away is paid. Ambience (4/5): Typical tulum, easy dark ambience, soft lights. Helps put one to ease. But animals roam free, like cats or dogs so a bit unnerving if you're afraid like me. Food (4.5/5): Honestly, delicious and well concieved. Lots of vegetarian and pescatarian options. We got the blue corn triangle pastry with squash, shrimp ceviche, beet salad and chocolate. Shrimp ceviche was the epitome of creativity, with the tangy jellied layer on top which was insane. Chocolate dessert was very sweet though individual elements like hoja Santa ice cream and dulce de leche semifredo were good. Beverages tasted ok, but really mild. Feel overpriced as not enough mixology. Service (5/5): can't fault since they're on top of their game. They have a 18% tip baked into the bill. They do however confirm if that's ok. Final takeaway (4.1/5): This is the best food in tulum hotel zone from creativity, flavors, and service.

Most of my stars are for ambience and service. I wasn't a fan of the food. Something just seemed off for a fancy place. We kind of left feeling kind of ripped off. Would not return.

Michelin guide acknowledgment is great but this place deserves the recognition of an actual star - or multiple - I'd easily travel a distance to visit WILD, again. The food was exactly what you expect from a Michelin Star restaurant; unique, creative, divine. The ambience was delicate & sophisticated - maintaining the genuine energy of ancient Mayan jungle. We were partnered for the evening with a wonderful gentleman named Sebastian who was not just knowledgeable about the menu, but who was incredibly well spoken and had excellent taste & suggestions. I'll truly never forget this meal. Thank you Sebastian, the chefs, and thank you, WILD Tulum xx

What a great experience. We were in Tulum this past week and were staying at Nômade. We had heard a lot about Hartwood and thought we would try it. Taking taxis is such a pain in Tulum and quite frankly a rip off. We accidentally wandered into Wild for drinks one evening and decided to come back the next night for dinner. Leslie was our bartender both nights and was truly a joy of a human. She makes the best drinks and is easily a major part of our excitement. The food here is so thoughtfully made and really takes you by surprise on the unique flavors. We had the oysters which blew our minds. This was followed by the salmon and octopus which both blew us away. We ended our night with a fruity parfait (sounds simple but is so complex). I never review this much but felt I just had to say how much we loved it. I would go back to Tulum just to eat here. The staff are all so friendly and informative. They time your meal perfectly so you can enjoy the entire experience. They also have a 9 course tasting/pairing menu which i was was torn between but the Al a Carte was superb. Maybe next time. I'm sure Hartwood is fabulous, I may not ever know. Thanks for one of my top 5 dining experiences.

Great service, beautifully presented food in a lush, jungle setting. A highlight of our trip!

Totally chill vibe, nice background music, earthy feel with lots of vegetation and open air seating. Loved Bianca, our server. She helped guide us thru the menu and goodness were we ever happy! Focaccia bread with select butters and the huitlacoche ravioli was out of this world!!! Then sea bass plus I had the Cochinita pork belly. Tremendous! A nice Sauvignon Blanc to keep things light. Fruit, nuts, meringue and coconut ice cream. What a meal!! Loved every bite and every minute!

Such a amazing experience. From the cocktails at the bar to every single item on the menu. Absolutely recommend. Great service and vibe as well

The ambiance was absolutely incredible. We felt like we were having dinner in a fairytale, and we soaked up every moment. All of the dishes and cocktails were curated with care and precision, with such a vibrant and delicious menu. Some highlights for us were the ravioli starter and the beet starter. The ravioli is stuffed with a growth from corn that tastes like truffle and it was absolutely phenomenal. The beets were amazing too, very fresh and had a fun take. The churros that closed out our meal were delightful too, they were well balanced, and had a delicious chocolate sauce and ice cream pairing. Make sure to try a cocktail, they have a very creative and vibrant cocktail menu. Take your time here, enjoy the service and the food, and take in the beautiful surroundings!

How do you give a place more stars? The service is top notch and the FOOD, the food is to die for! We went with the 9 course meal and pairing. It was absolute perfection! Honestly, this meal was to die for. If you want to get something off the main menu, I would go with the ravioli or prawns. MOUTH WATERING! Let's not forget the romantic vibe of this place. It's perfect for a couple or a group. Just come and enjoy!

This restaurant is WILD!! The setting reminds me a little bit of Arca but the food is completely different. You can definitely feel more modern approach to the food made by chef Norman Fenton (known for his great work at Schwa in Chicago). The whole food presentation of food and drinks makes this space an awesome experience, an upscale in a jungle. We had a great server who made our visit so enjoyable and the service all together was top notch but lets talk about food :) No MAMMES! drink--if you love Mezcal this is your drink and the presentation us spectacular. You get it on the tray with burning coal and copal to infuse. Tomato Tartare---it was hard to believe that you can make such a tasty and complex tartare from tomatoes. Perfect starter, refreshing, and light. Ravioli with truffles--this dish is a must. Not only that demonstration is magical but the taste is lingering long time after eating this dish. We loved it!! Grilled octopus--we are octopus lovers and take it everytime it is available and this one was top notch. Addition of squid ink was great and tenderness of octopus itself was perfect. Campeche prawns--those are the best prawns I have eaten in TULUM, no questions asked :) Catch of the day--that was the weakest dish only because the fish was on the dry side, everything was good, the flavors were there but it would be ideal if the fish was more tender. Wild is definitely worth a reservation when visiting Tulum, there is no regrets :)

Loved this place!! It's far down the beach road and we went the first night were in Tulum. If it's the weekend, anticipate leaving an hour or hour and a half early! We were 30 minutes late, but they were able to accommodate us! Great service and the ambiance is so beautiful. Moody, peaceful, and serene -- this spot is wonderful for date night or to enjoy an amazing meal. We opted for the nine course meal and it was so tasty. The drinks were wonderful too!

The most incredible experience. The staff was fantastic, very welcoming and helpful (shoutout to Emmy, she was amazing). The food, oh the food. Absolute heaven. All 3 of us were amazed by every dish (two of us did the tasting menu and one got the waguy). Every plate was FANTASTIC

I've been wanting to come here and finally came for dinner with a friend. They have LOCAL, ORGANIC, food!!! Amazing Yucateca style menu. I got the catch of the day and my friend got the pork belly. Amazing presentation and amazing taste and ambiance. Definitely recommend you to come here- it's a lesser known spot but does not fail to impress! Skip the tourist trap and head a bit farther for this hidden gem!

The space was gorgeous... like rustic, jungle chic. It seemed a little out of place on the main strip (it looked very different than most of the other places), but that's what drew us in. They had a menu of inventive cocktails that featured local ingredients (guanabana, mango, coconut milk) and lots of different types of mezcal. The drinks were delicious and the music and atmosphere was awesome. It felt like a Brooklyn bar transplanted into Mexico (sorry if I sound like a snobby New Yorker :-)). There were only 2 other people in the bar, the bartender, Ulysses, and the owner (I think), Jonathan. They were 2 super friendly young guys. They gave us a brief history of Mezcal and told us all about the different local ingredients they used. I think this place only opened a few months ago. It seemed like business may be a bit slow, but we drove by late at night a few days later and it was pretty crowded. The crowd was all tourists, European expats, etc... no locals... I didn't even see any locals working there. I loved the bar, but I love supporting locals, so I feel a little odd giving such a colonized place 5 stars, so solid 4 stars from me. If you're looking for a cool a cool bar to have a tasty cocktail, definitely check it out.

Out front of Good Burger, it was hard to tease out which menu was for what restaurant, but I guess it didn't matter because the second floor was the bar where the night cap was made and brought upstairs. Up on the rooftop, the setting was whimsical, naturey, romantic. It was great to sit on cushiony seats under dim lighting with lots of greens hanging above and on the walls. The street view below was, well, of the street. For a weekend night, it was desolate and for awhile, we had the whole roof to ourselves (minus the two servers with nothing to do). For my one drink, I selected a mojito swoon (ginger, lime). It was pretty much a very refreshing lemonade with only a slight hint of alcohol - but that's the theme in most cocktails I had in Tulum. Our poor waitress came by several times to check in on us out of boredom, which was nice, but also weird at the same time given it was clear the place was dead, so it seemed like she was coming to our table too often.

Service: Tulum is very hospitality-focused so everyone is pretty nice, but they REALLY bent over backward here. From the welcome cocktail to the complimentary 20-minute massages, everyone was extremely welcoming and really went out of their way to make our stay special. Food: Breakfast is included, delicious, and authentic. Rooms: Beautiful. You are literally in a tree house. The bed is massive and comfortable. Location: Right on the beach and steps away from all the "hotspots". One of the highlights on our trip was sitting on the beach chairs at night and seeing all the huge turtles come out of the ocean to nest/lay eggs! Minor downsides: Limited number for rooms, so don't expect to be able to check in early. They have AC but some of it escapes through the walls. Lastly, you can hear faint club music from inside the room pretty late into the night, but it wasn't loud enough to bother us. Overall, we'd definitely return!!
