Seriously in place that had 2 people at the bar and about 15 people in the restaurant. Owner attitude bad. A waitress was trying to wait on me at the bar and she was confused, not her fault. The owner was a jerk. Like I am doing him a favor spending money in his place. Queso was like water Bye!!! Went to Don's seafood where the hostess pulled out my chair and bartender had a glass of water, drink and food menu before my ass hit the seat. I wasn't expecting much but we ended up pleasantly surprised. The interior seems similar to other types of walk up counter local restaurants, dated but it works. The lady at the counter was helpful and nice. For the lunch time rush, they got food out pretty quickly and what we ordered was fresh and so good. The French bread was so soft. The fish was plentiful and flavorful. The red beans and rice was comforting and the hush puppies were good as well. We would absolutely return.

They have a kid's menu as well plus lots of ice cream treats. Having been away from the Deep South for far too long I stayed with my daily routine of eating seafood since there is nothing like the seafood from this metro area. I ordered the Shrimp Po-Boy Combo. The sandwich was great! I loved the French Bread too. The shrimp were delicious as were their fries. I couldn't leave without at least an ice cream cone. It was really piled high with creamy soft serve ice cream on a cake cone. Service was good throughout my stay. A lot of folks with kids coming in for ice cream too.

Warm, but this place has mister fans out back, and it was very pleasant out. The patio has a great vibe, with games like Cornhole and Connect 4 available for the little kid with you or in you. It seems like a cool way to spend a Saturday afternoon, or maybe to get a bite after shopping at O'Wheelies. Definitely check out O'Wheelies while you're in the area. I had the Engineer Cheesteak as recommended by the young lady whose name I didn't catch. That was my bad. Excellent choice! Except that (maybe) the aioli distracted from the simple deliciousness of the sandwich. I mean, I ate it all, so not too much distraction, I suppose. The sandwich was really good- hot and juicy, lots of steak. Just right on the Swiss cheese, too. The only thing I didn't care for was the bread. Turned out to be a good thing! Why? Because they loaded the plate up with these bomb-ass waffle fries. They were sooooo perfect. Suddenly, there were little waffle fry nachos topped with cheesesteak all over my plate. I was like, "what?!" Except my mouth was full of waffle fry nachos, so it came out "wuud?" Definitely coming back to order it like that from the start, too - extra crispy and topped with jalapeños. Oh, and Ghost in the Machine on draft. Mmm. Yeah, tonight ol' boy ate like he was still on vacation. Smiling about it, too.

However, the food fell incredibly flat. The taco styles err on the side of traditional offerings, but did not taste anything like I would imagine them to taste. The carne asada was bland and the chicken wings were Smokey, but lacked salt so difficult to taste. The rice and beans were the best thing on the table. The chimmichurri was the most disappointing by far, tasting almost like it had mayo in it. The other thing that was odd to me is that apart from their house made hot sauce (which is more like a veg blend) they did not offer any house made salsa verdes/picantes or topping for the tacos. For $12-$15, a plate with two tacos is steep, considering there are no sides of accompaniments. I will however say that the food was incredibly fresh and of good quality. The tortillas were excellent, however fell apart due to the moisture and weight of the toppings. Maybe doubling them would improve the product. Service was also excellent. Good came out quickly and the cashier and cooks were amazing at answering our questions and offering suggestions. The place was nearly full, so that says something about their following.
