Perfect place to grab a scoop of ice cream even on a cold day (which is always)! My favorite is the classic cookies and cream. They change out their menu pretty often so you'll have a chance to try a wide variety of flavors. I appreciate that they also have a few vegan flavors as well! The service is quick and friendly. Plenty of parking as well. They have a couple tables if you want to sit down and enjoy your ice cream there. If you'd like to take a pint or two of ice cream to go, they have that for sale as well. Highly recommend! read more

Wild Scoops - Desserts Near Me - Anchorage, Alaska

Ah, I don't even like ice-cream you devils, how dare you even tempt me. So anyway that's something i say so frequently. "I don't like ice-cream" Yet you never hear me say "No, I don't want to go to Wild Scoops" Wild Scoops is a temptatious, flirtatious little siren. Offering small batches of, hmm, unusually flavored scoops of goodness, there's always something on the limited menu to tempt you, even non ice-cream lovers like me. No wonder Alaskans like ice-cream in winter, we have Wild Scoops. The downtown location is where we always went, and it was so fun to get a (kids) scoop and sit on one of the myriad benches around there, and people watch. Downtown is so fun for such an activity. It's here that i tasted my most Holy Grail best ice cream I've ever had, and several others high up on the "Wow i would eat that again" scale. The Holy Grail batch was called Rose Mochi - a rose flavored ice cream with pieces of mochi cut up in it. Best thing i ever tasted. Any of their rhubarb iterations are always superb too, But we went back really fast after the Rose Mochi incident, because i, the non Ice-cream person kept whining that i wanted more Rose Mochi ice cream. So I'm eagerly at the window, asking for it, despite it not appearing on the menu and am told "oh that won't be back until Valentine's Day" well! How could you tempt me thusly, then deny my need? And then they moved, we went to the downtown location, saw that it was closed, and nearly fainted, but fortunately they had moved to a new location, which is where the old Chocolate Lounge used to be on Benson, same strip mall as Great Harvest bread, and Cafe Amsterdam. Whereupon i had another delightful concoction of strawberry with tiny, little, almost gritty bits of chocolate in it, and since covid means samples aren't available anymore, you can get what i have named "a nipple" of another flavour on top, a taster if you will. I called it that because the circular scoop, with tiny circular scoop on top, in a cup, is somewhat boob looking. All social distancing, masking regulations are observed inside their new bigger location. If you like ice-cream, go. If you don't like ice-cream, go, you'll be intrigued by some of their more obscure offering - hello Midnight, you charcoal laden creature! read more

As good as all the 5 star reviews claim. I had root beer float ice cream in a waffle cone & spouse had spiced rhubarb in a baked Alaska cone. If I get the chance I will be back! read more

Really creamy, flavorful, and the first time I had tried a beet ice cream. Not overly sweet but very well flavored. Unique ambiance and had ample amount of seating. Would recommend. read more

The hype was worth for the local icecream flavours. I liked their baked waffle cone except for the marshmallow on top. May be they could reduce the qty of marshmallow. Staff was patient when I was trying their flavours. I went with the crowd favorite rhubarb crisp in the waffle cone. Would come back again. Good ambiance. read more

As visiting friends while in Anchorage resulted in many a stop into La Bodega, we had to swing next door to check out Wild Scoops (and I'm a HUGE fan of local "craft" creameries.) The flavors here are absolutely incredible, and it was an unexpected bonus to be able to enjoy a gluten-free come AND a gluten-free ice cream sandwich! The staff were all incredibly friendly and super knowledgeable about how to handle Celiac - they even donned fresh gloves, a new scooper, and opened a new tub of ice cream to ensure there was no cross-contamination. read more

I always look forward to coming here. I love that they rotate the flavors, there are always so many choices. With so many choices I still ended up with chocolate because it is so good. And in a waffle cone plus the toasted marshmallow fluff... sort of messy but the best. The cone tasted like it was literally just made, it was perfect. Slightly spendy considering two cones with marshmallow fluff was around $15, but definitely worth the splurge. I was bummed that they didn't have any coffee flavors today buuut they did have a coffee flavor pint available so I just bought that on my way out. Also got an ice cream sandwich for my kiddo at home because I'm not sharing my coffee ice cream. read more

I. Love. Wild Scoops. They have the best ice cream in town not only because their ingredients are always fresh and high quality but also their flavors are unique and exciting. Anything you get you'll most likely love and if you don't, you'll eat it anyways they are pretty pricey for scoop to $ ratio but it's totally worth it. This location is larger and accommodates seating so perfect if you want to sit down and enjoy your cone, bowl, sandwich or dare I say pint! Yes it's 100% acceptable to eat a whole pint of ice cream from here. It's that good. Enjoy! read more

Local fun flavors and some of the most friendly staff. The owner is a very kind hearted human. I love the coffee flavors they offer and yes they have a few. Location is great and closer to my house but honestly i would travel miles for this place and have. Being next to a great beer store so that is also a huge plus on this location. The line yes is long but so worth the wait. The line moves fast and they still will let you try anything. I have been to many ice cream places like Salt and straw in Portland or the others in LA and Seattle and San Fransisco and they are good but you pay almost double but won't taste as good as Wild Scoops! Come check it out or get a pint togo. read more

I'm what I believe most people would think is weird, due to not being a huge ice cream fan. I'm not a grab a pint to sob in, nor really even a scoop to go with cake. It's just rarely something I want or crave. With that being said, we had guests from out of state visiting, had dinner, some downtown wandering and a bit more time before taking them to the airport and I recalled some reviews of Wild Scoops and thought we should give them a try. It was a nice, 70* day and later in the evening, so the line wasn't too bad. We were out the door when we arrived, but it moved along quickly. I liked that there was signage outside and on the way in for the flavors and descriptions for the menu that day. I'm sure that strategy aids in keeping that line moving right along! There is a window for watching the ice cream magic happen to the left, however that late in the evening, it was shut down for the day. Swag to purchase and a plethora of awesome flavors. I opted for the rhubarb crisp and it was pretty darn incredible! There were other flavors enjoyed in my party, but unfortunately I don't recall the names. My husband enjoyed what I believe was a salted caramel, which he loved. He loves anything caramel. I will definitely be back, even though it may be a while and I highly recommend those that love ice cream to step out of their rocky road, mint chocolate chip loving comfort zone and give Wild Scoops a try! read more

If there is one local place that I tell people to check out if they're visiting from out of town, it's Wild Scoops. I'm ecstatic that they opened a 2nd location after only 2 years, and it's bigger than the first! Bigger location means bigger rotation of flavors and a bigger freezer to hold all the pints your heart desires. They have yet to add drinks and floats to their menu but once they do it's really going to be perfect. The staff are efficient and friendly, two things that go well with a line of customers out the door in the Alaskan summer. The space is cute and clean and is all about supporting local which is fantastic! This place stays hoppin so be prepared to wait for your creamy treat, but it is beyond worth it! read more

My wife and I are visiting from Seattle and decided to stop by Wild Scoops on day 2 of our trip. I scanned their menu, saw and item called "Nachos", and immediately knew what I was going to order. The nachos are basically 3 small scoops of ice cream, triangle waffle cone chips, chocolate sauce, and sprinkles. I picked cardamom ice cream as my flavor and my wife picked the other two. I don't remember what she picked but she liked it which is all that matters to me. Overall, Wild Scoops is a great ice cream shop. What makes it even better is the liquor store "La Bodega" next door. We were compelled to pickup a bottle of wine and a few cans of kombucha. One last thing, don't forget to call Liz at Alaskan Husky Adventures about that dog mushing tour. :) read more

I love Wild Scoops ice cream. Local ingredients, vegan options, yummy unique flavors, and such friendly staff. This local ice cream shop is an example of business growth done right, and has implemented social media in a fun way. I love their second location. Their vegan options are so tasty, I also wish they would label what is gluten free!! I used to love their homemade waffle cones with the yummy cinnamon (before my gluten free days) - so I highly recommend either getting the cone or adding the chips for the $1! Totally worth it!! read more

So good. They also had four vegan flavors! I tried two of them and one of them was very much to my liking. It was the best vegan ice cream I've ever had-the fireweed was so good. The cones were really good too. Everyone in the party really enjoyed the ice cream read more

Came here for their grand opening at the Metro Mall. We opted for their frozen nachos which contains three scoops of ice cream, hot fudge, sprinkles and "chips" made out of their waffle cones. To start, their waffle cones are amazing here. I can definitely pick up on the star anise that's listed as one of the ingredients along with cinnamon. As for their ice cream, the fruity pebbles flavor is a spot-on rendition of one of my favorite cereals. Their Oreo flavor is great too, along with their rhubarb crumble made with local produce. They offer an ice cream "flight" with four different flavors of your choosing. I thought that was pretty clever and a great way to sample their offerings. Not to mention their storefront has a great atmosphere that is spacious and inviting. I'll definitely be back on a regular basis to support this local business that seems to be doing things right on just about every front. read more

A perennial Anchorage favorite, Wild Scoops has unique and delicious flavors of ice cream to put in a cone, cup, or sundae. The fireweed is popular, as is their cinnamon ice cream. Re-Wild!!! Same great product found in their flagship store downtown but with a place to sit. Fast, friendly, efficient staff keeps the line moving right along. Plus...the payoff is SWEET! 16 choices of brilliant handmade creations in a variety of edible and non-edible vessels. There is also a freezer case with pre-packed quarts and ice cream sandwiches. Our family loves ice cream..love it so much that I research it everywhere we go to try to the best places. We were so pleasantly surprised to see Wild Scoops right next to our hotel. We ended up go there before checking in or getting dinner! We tried various flavors throughout our week but a favorite was camp fire s'mores! I had mine topped baked Alaska style with toasted marshmallow fluff. It was delicious! I only wish we would have gotten to try their moose tracks but unfortunately, it didn't make it on their rotation while we were there. Hopefully next time! read more

Two Words.... "Sitka Swir!!!!!l" Sooo great to find this local creamery. The smell of sugary creamy goodness that hits you in the face as you approach the door is just the tip of the Alaskan iceberg. Amazing Place for Baked Alaska. We went here because we were here with family. They had never been here before, so we all went for our first time. Talk about a wonderful surprise! Great Ice Cream and I love their homemade waffle cone with cinnamon in it. Friendly service and a cool environment. Must go if you're in AK!

The best non-dairy/vegan ice cream I've ever had. Really really delicious. I'm never going to be able to eat any other vegan ice cream knowing that this perfection exists a thousand miles away. Loved their unique flavors! Cute little place. The salted caramel was great and so was the lemon snickerdoodle. Didn't like the mango sorbet, something just seemed off about it. I was told by a local that this place had some of the best ice cream in Anchorage so of course I had to stop by and check it out. They have your classics like chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla, but they've also got all sorts of wild wonky flavors they make themselves. I am a huge fan of fresh herbs so I ordered their basil walnut ice cream. It was sweet with little bit of crunch from the walnuts and an interesting taste from the basil ice cream base they used. It was different from any ice cream I've had before but I loved it! I hope I can visit Anchorage again one day and bring my family and friends along to experience the awesome flavors and ideas Wild Scoops has to offer. I definitely recommend stopping by! read more
