Thank you for putting a huge chocolate eating grin on my friends face...she said the truffles were the best ever and the little frogs were just irresistible! The customer service is the best! The chocolates were packaged with care and delivered by courier the very same day, plus I got a call and email to make sure everything was received in good order....fantastic! I love bread in all forms. So long as you are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside (somewhat…read morelike a baked armadillo - for ex-pat British reviewers, this may make some semblance of sense) - I am all yours. Apparently, Cakebread do a mean garlic loaf - with a whole bulb baked into the center. What is there not to love about that? Anyway, I didn't get to try it, so I can't review it - I just will dream about that instead. Rather, I tried out a chocolate brownie. I've been a little disappointed with brownies since I moved to the states, so I thought I would try out a Canadian version, to see if it could compare to the wonder of the brownies sold in London's Borough Market. Well, it didn't - but it was incredibly luscious. Chocolate icing on top and a surprise of biscuit (cookie) threaded through the brownie itself. I do like a bit of texture when I am chowing down. One brownie was probably a bit too rich for one person - but, I was alone - and I do hate seeing food go to waste. It's called taking one for the team, ok?

Coffee is okay - comparable to Starbucks. There is lots of seating inside. Service is very friendly. It does feel a bit dim in terms of lighting. Overall a very solid spot to grab some lunch/brunch.

Especially the fruit smoothie, it tasted very fruity and I was definitely sad when I wasn't able to have any more of it when I finished. I sadly do not remember the name, but I'm pretty sure any of the fruit smoothies you can order from here would be all excellent. One star is taken off because I do find the prices a bit on the high side in retrospect to other coffee shops in the area, but i'd come back again otherwise. I especially enjoyed how homey the cafe felt inside. Friendly service too, just like what you'd expect out of small town BC

I do not live near Courtney but have considered flying in just to get some of the donuts and cinnamon buns. Anyone who goes to the area I highly recommend stopping in. The only possible negative aspect is the limited hours of operation and that there is always a line up. But the line up is cause they are so good that hordes of people go and not cause of slow service. They also have great beverage selection both hot and cold. Their London Fog is in my top 5 and I consider myself a London Fog addict. I am glad I do not live near by cause I would end up being like 400lbs if I had easy access to it. So good.
