So, to me, the only right answer in this kind of mistake is, "Wow, sorry to hear that, no idea how that could have happened, how can we make it right?" And I'd have suggested give my dad SOME amount of refund. I don't even much care how much, $10, $20, just make an effort, you know? But no. No adjustment. I was referred to this plumber by my realtor when I bought a property in Scappoose while still living out of state. All I wanted was a recirculating pump that could be activated from the two bathrooms with showers to minimize water waste. The initial interactions were all very positive, and I happily paid the bill before I even moved into the house. I contacted them again because the water heater was short cycling, and my memory of that interaction was them telling me that a part was needed, and it was under warranty, so they would order it and install it. Weeks later I had heard nothing, and the only way I could get a response was to approach my realtor who then approached them. Even then, it was a brief interaction, and I patiently waited more weeks. I once again was ghosted. To this day I still don't know if they received the part that had been under warranty, and I will never approach them again about any work at my house. I now work with a different company. YMMV. I have never threatened litigation. I have never refused to pay a bill. To the very best of my knowledge, there is no outstanding balance with this plumber. I searched my email and only found the original invoice which was paid prior to my move.
