A few months into our contract she tried charging us a 'consultation' fee which was never spoken of in our original contract.... then 3 months before our wedding she emailed us basically saying that market prices were rapidly changing so she was INCREASING the price of our signed contract, all because we were editing some flowers. When I went in to do a stem count on what she had sent us, I kid you not it was 75 stems for $4k... Things were not adding up and we were very concerned. While we should've followed our gut and seen the MULTIPLE red flags, we chose to see the good and follow through with the contract... which was the worst decision. The day of the wedding we showed up to a shocking amount of flowers. She failed to pay close attention to close detail, we had asked for 36" tall floor installments, she made them maybe 17" tall with a few flowers just flanking out which we had paid ALOT of money for. The most frustrating thing about this is that we had sent her multiple images of the EXACT thing we wanted, NOTHING symbolized our pinterest board. The bridesmaids bouquets were not at all what we had talked about, the bride bouquet she admitted she had to change last minute because it was too heavy for her original plan (which she didn't let us know prior so it was a surprise that morning). We spare all future brides the headache and stress, research your vendors throroughly before signing any contract.

Florals were a very important part of our wedding. We marked it as one of the highest priority…read moreitems and wanted to ensure that we found a florist who could replicate our shared vision. We approached the decor with the vibes of "a garden, but make it fall with a dash of whimsy and fantasy". Jen at Native Bloom was very quick to pick up on these vibes and delivered a quote with inspiration pictures that matched what we were looking for. Throughout the entire process, Jen was very easy to work with. We had a reasonable budget for the flowers and when there were aspects of her design that fell out of our price range, she quickly worked with us to find more cost-effective alternatives. We also collected a lot of vintage glassware for the table settings and were keen on having some of them used in the floral design. Jen was kind enough to meet us halfway between her shop and our home to pick up the vessels and incorporated them beautifully into the tablescapes. She provided fun suggestions to the floral design, including adding darker red tones to our dusty pink and sage green wedding colors and finding the perfect, fluffiest, most mystical moss to add to the tables. I was wary that they wouldn't do enough color with our palette since their social media has a lot of white/pastel/rosy hued florals, but they really knocked it out of the park with our color palette! We had various hues of purple as our primary color, with gold, warm yellows and burnt oranges as our secondary colors. While we did ask for more yellow/orange to be featured in our blooms since the rest of our decor focused on purple/gold, I thought there would be a little more varied purples in our arrangements. Was also hoping for a looser/more flowy bouquet, but what they created was still beautiful (design inspiration may have gotten lost in employee turnover since we'd been planning for 2+ years during the pandemic and they had some changes during that time.) Again, everything was still gorgeous and I loved the variety of color, textures and types of flowers used. It was fun, vibrant and unique. We added a tall install on our head table towards the end of the planning process and I'm glad we did because it made such a beautiful statement! I also liked the variety of vases they had available to use.

I did a lot of research, scanning Instagram, websites, reviews and everything in between because I had a very specific vision and I knew what type of people I liked to work with. When I came across Ida Mayes Floristry, I got really excited. But not only did their portfolio match the aesthetic I was going for, Tiffany responded with the kindest initial email and I immediately fell in love with her when we hopped on a zoom call. She has a very kind and calm disposition yet was so smiley and cheerful. She showed so much enthusiasm and passion towards my vision which made me SO excited to see her proposal. As you could imagine, she put a lot of time into crafting a proposal that gave me even more fun ideas and inspiration for our elopement. Also, Tiffany is a very patient. I will be honest when I say I had just about 1000 scattered ideas that I couldn't put into words but she took the time to figure out what I liked and disliked. We started with a more pastel "spring" palette and it slowly (well quickly!) evolved and started incorporating more pops of color and it became a bit brighter. There were never complaints on her end, she just purely ran with my ideas and absolutely killed it. As I got ready the morning of my elopement, I saw Tiffany and her team preparing the ceremony site outside by the pool deck and I could have cried seeing it come to life. Every single one of our 17 guests commented how stunning the florals were. It was the reason our elopement was so magical, I truly cannot be more thankful of what Tiffany did for us. As a wedding planner and bride, I will vouch for Tiffany and would be happy to talk to anyone about my experience with her. We have already talked about how I can somehow get her to expand to Chicago because she would do wonders there - and I'd love to work with her again! Hopefully more weddings in Texas in the future.
