Stopped here last Sunday morning before my soccer game in Bolton. Quite a large and comfortable cafe with plenty of indoor setting and a patio also. Great coffee and I somehow managed to resist trying the baked goods, which looked amazing. Plenty of plants including a large green wall. The staff was friendly and hospitable which is always a plus. Wild Hare of Hudson is a new brunch spot located at the Landing at Hudson Mills. They are open Thursdays through Sundays serving  breakfast (until 12pm) and lunch (after 11am) menus offering coffee, espresso, & tea drinks, plus 8 beers by Medusa Brewing Company. The place is very casual with self seating at several tables. You place your order and pay at the counter and they call your name at the counter to pickup your food. After you're done, you bud your own dishes. I stopped in here for a light lunch knowing I was going out to dinner later in the evening. I ordered a Grilled Cheese Sandwich ($5 plus tax) and the Wild Hair of the Dog ($6 plus tax) served with green salad. My food was ready to pickup at the counter 10 minutes later  The Grilled Cheese Sandwich was very good and immaculate and made right, the basic tasty staple with melted American cheese (white) between two chewy toasted slices of sourdough bread, buttered.  The Wild Hair of the Dog had a long grilled pork & beef hot dog with the snap in the bite, with sweet tomato jam, melted beer cheese, onion crisps on a grilled buttered hot dog roll and served with mixed greens in a tangy dressing.  The food I ordered was very buttery and tasty. I was hoping they would extend their breakfast offerings past noon since other brunch places in the area also serve breakfast late or all day in addition to lunch offerings. Breakfast, 100%. Dinner, 0%. I'm giving one star because I'm hoping they see this. I was so excited to give it a try after yoga yesterday. I've been in for coffees and pastries and egg sandwiches almost every weekend for months now. I was psyched that we had the chance to pop in for a beer and bit of dinner. Unfortunately for the restaurant, my partner and I are also former restaurant workers as well so we immediately picked up on some immediate issues regarding staffing and operations. For a "fine dining" experience, it was laughably bad. I'll keep those to myself but we'd be happy to give details to anyone from Wild Hare who reaches out directly. For anyone else, the food was amazing, astoundingly good. It was explained as "tapas" style dinner and they would course it out. And boy, did they really course it out... we were there for almost 2 full hours for the tiniest dishes I've ever seen. The cheese plate we got was barely 2 oz of each cheese. I couldn't help but laugh when they brought this plate out to us, it looked like a cheese plate for mice. We waited about 10-15 between finishing the tiny "shareable" until the next. I couldn't get another beer, we couldn't get any water, the staff seemed incredibly busy for such a tiny restaurant. The best part was when a young woman brought our check to the table after running it and exclaiming to all three of us "I HAVE YOUR CHECK!!" Which I assume she did because she didn't know who it went to but we were all taken aback. I will be in for an egg sandwich every day but I gotta tell you, the dinner experience was hilariously bad. No amount of expensive, tiny, delicious dish can get me back in there without a serious reality check on operations. read more

Stopped here to try something new. Glad I did. Had the diner breakfast, eggs, bacon & sourdough. Eggs were creamy, buttery and delicious. Clearly farm fresh. Excellent slab bacon and homemade sourdough completes the order. Nicely appointed space. Nice build out of an old mill. Will be back. A couple other notes, a little tricky to find unless you know it's here. Around the back in building A. GPS dropped me out front and I thought they had changed hands as there is another place on the main street. Also, bring equal/Splenda etc. unless you are a fan of Stevia, I am not. read more

Stopped in for the first time to meet a friend at the Wild Hare around 2 o'clock. We ordered a coffee tea and the cheese plate. Coffee was OK although for the life of me I can't understand why they have no dark roast coffee. The $20 cheese plate of 3 cheeses was totally inadequate. The cheeses selected were a brie, blue cheese, and one called "Prima Donna ". Two problems, the size of the portions were 2 inches by 1 1/2 by 1/4 inch. Hardly enough for two bites. The Prima Donna was inedible. It was a shard of gnarly inedible cheese consisting of 1/2 rind. The 3 sour dough bread slices were nice. I didn't try the pickle slices and onions. They need to rethink this as I can't imagine many people ordering this a second time. Too bad, the atmosphere and location is quite nice. read more

Cheese-less charcuterie board, but we made do, although a little cheese would have made it, maybe crackers instead of bread? The guava beermosa was not as sweet as the last time I had it - may have used a different brew of beer, it was on the sour side. I recently went to the "Wild Hare" for breakfast and I loved the atmosphere, the coffee was fantastic, (free refills) the food was excellent. The "Jersey Ham" sandwich was awesome! Great homemade sausage Pattie's. They have an industrial look, a glass garage door opens to patio seating. It's great that it's behind mill, no road noise, you can talk in a normal tone. I really loved it, now, I wish it was more affordable to go to more often then once a month or every other month. My wife and I had breakfast sandwiches, sausage, (shared) and coffee. At $46 with tip I found this a bit pricey to go on a whim. The Pandemic hit all of us, we're all getting charged more and no one is paying us more. Costs of goods are up, inflation, No fault of retailers, we're on the fence with depression era living. read more

The place has a great vibe and coffee is great, but our food was so bad honestly. We got a breakfast sandwich and grilled cheese and 1 coffee for $40, and the sandwiches both just had shitty kraft singles on them and no flavor. I'm sorry but if you're charging more than $5 for a grilled cheese / sausage egg and cheese I'm expecting at least a sharp cheddar or something. It was so bad my girlfriend ( who ordered the grilled cheese with an egg on it) only ate the egg and not the bread because it was covered in gross cheese. Again the COFFEE is GREAT! But food is definitely over priced (at least for what I got). Overall very disappointing experience as both me and my gf do not feel nourished nor full :( read more

We had a very delicious dinner at this hidden gem in adorable Hudson. Every bite was wonderful! It was very high caliber, well priced, exceptional food in a very casual setting. Totally worth the trip from Natick. The beers were interesting and some were terrific; the beer drinkers in the group were very happy. The wine drinkers would have had a better experience with a good bottle of red, but that was just a small thing given our overall enjoyment of the evening. Totally recommend Wild Hare! read more

Oh crap, another great restaurant in Hudson! This place was easy to get a table at, but that won't be for long. Though it is tucked in at the back of the mill building, I suspect word will spread fast and this place will be packed. Wild Hare is the latest venture from Medusa Brewing. The beer here is better than at Medusa, which is already good. I think it's different - Flanders brown, Belgian trippel, grisette, etc. more refined euro Belgian, cask aged beers that pair well with more refined food. We didn't have cheese or charcuterie but there's a nice menu of items. The main dishes are great for sharing. Flavor was elevated and extra effort went into plating. Not big but still satisfying. Will go for breakfast sometime soon. Friendly, casual service was attentive and responsive. Attractive space adds to the food and drink experience. Glad we were able to go there while they are still unknown. read more

Fun staff with great food! We've been here for breakfast lunch and dinner and it's been excellent every time. They also do special versions of Medusa beers which add a lot of complexity to an already great pint. First time I went there I noticed that they had croque monsieur on the menu. Great! Walk in. Guy behind counter " do you need a minute to look at the menu ?" Me " no, I know exactly what we want. We will have two croque monsieur please" him " well... I guess you don't know exactly what you want because it's not on the menu" me" maybe you should update the online menu?" Him" not my problem" . Ok got something else. Left with a bad taste in my mouth about the attitude of the transaction. Decided to give it second try. Great! I'll have the club sandwich ." We don't have that" ok can I get the slow drip coffee? " we don't have that." Tried for another item " we don't have that"Made a joke about Monty python's cheese shop ( he didn't get it) wound up dropping about $40 for two ice coffees and two orders of hummus on toast ( basically one piece of toast with hummus and some other sauce) only to find BEARD HAIR in it!!. HIGHWAY ROBBERY - The Ploughman's Lunch is $18. With this "lunch" you get one (1) slice of bread, cut in half and toasted. You get two (2) pieces of prosciutto, a half dozen (6) pickles, some pickled onions (probably 4), a dab of butter (?) and a smidge of goat cheese that has been dusted with salt. Oh and some greens. Sure it was prepared nicely, I would imagine it's good quality, but if you're going to charge $20 for advanced toast, it better actually be filling enough for a LUNCH. No thank you. read more

I ordered the mushroom toast which was covered in a raw garlic sauce. This drowned out the flavor and was quite harsh on the palette. The Dubbel belgian beer was excellent and a beautiful color. I added a side of sausage that was puny but tasted good. I added a 20% tip for apparently no reason as there is no service provided. Difficult to locate as well. read more

Came here for dinner last night with a friend, we were very excited to try out this place that had specific beer recommendations to go with the food ordered. Made a reservation on Resy which I believe is required to have dinner here. Sat outside on the patio we started off with the Roasted Romaine then split the Pork Belly and Beef dishes. The Romaine was amazing, the Pork melted in your mouth it was perfect, the Beef was so tender and flavorful. Service was really fast and friendly. I wish that there was an option to order a flight here because the dishes are shareable and each is paired with a different beer, it would make sense if you ordered a flight to coincide with the different shareables ordered to get the full experience. If that's not an option next time I go back I'll have to order a couple half pours to accomplish this. Definitely need to go back to get the full beer and food pairing experience since what we ordered full pours of wasn't necessarily the recommended beer to go with some of the dishes we got. It is a little expensive here and the portions were kinda small but perfect for 2 people to split a couple of dishes. Good new entry in a growing downtown area, definitely stop in ! read more

This place is top notch. They are off to an amazing start here. My biggest fear is that everyone else is going to discover this place and it'll get harder to get a seat. Pastries: top notch. Banana bread, chocolate croissant, savory croissant with hotdog in it( a fancy take on pigs in a blanket) Hands down the best in Hudson and beyond. Watch out Harvard Sweet Boutique. They're going head to head with Birch tree bread in the baking department. Coffee: Outstanding. So smooth and flavorful. I can drink this stuff black and it's so flavorful. I took one sip and and thought "whoa! What wtf is this???" Not the chew toy I'm used to from a place that rhymes with "lar-bucks" where the first sip feels more like getting electrocuted. I didn't catch the details from the guy behind the counter but he said the place in NY that roasts the beans has a rather short trip (the shortest???) from harvest to roasting in the US: in other words your drinking beans that were essentially picked weeks ago...I don't know if that's what's making this crazy good but seems like it. Breakfast sandwich with sausage. This thing is bonkers. I'd love to know if another business in the area has topped this thing. The sausage patty looks molded by hand and it comes with this side of spicy sauce that I want to drink by the bottle. Seriously guys: bottle this stuff. I will buy it. Offer it in shot glasses and I'll drink it alongside the breakfast sandwich. Microcreamery used to serve a duck confit breakfast sandwich years ago but they don't do it anymore so this thing takes first prize. Feel free to borrow that idea guys. I'd love to eat your take on it. Bet you'd nail it. I'm looking forward to dinner being offered here. I have to say though that without a plan to include wine (according to the FAQ answer on their website) it's going to be a tough sell for date night. My wife and my friends wives don't drink beer. You run a brewery so I'm sure that's not the first time this came up for you but you've now got an all star kitchen staff at the helm. Maybe you'll reconsider given you could become a dinner destination for a broader audience than before. Check this place out for sure. You are going to love it. The beers are outstanding! I prefer wine but the beers here were a perfect crossover for a wine enthusiast into the beer world, delicious! Wow. This is the best place in Hudson, and that is up against some stiff competition! The latte is the best I've had in decades. The croissants are made on the premises by a baker who really knows what he's doing! Best I've had since Paris. The food is wonderful. Great new breakfast items that ate creative and tasty. You have to try the bacon! The best I've had and I eat a lit of bacon. The shop is a hard to fathom perfect mix of spacious and cozy. A garage door/window opens during good weather and they have outside seating for those nice days. I have been waiting for a place like this for ages and now it's here. Go. Try it out. I had the eggs benedict in a hole, which was served with watercress, which I was dubious about but it was really tasty and balanced out the rest, delicious bread and biscuit like thing was good too. Beautiful building with lots of character! Loved the live wall. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the service was great. We went for dinner on Friday night at 7:00pm and it was empty. The food was above average, but not amazing. We had ribs, charcuterie, cheese board and savory popcorn. The beer was fantastic... which is good because beer is the only alcohol available. I would love to see this place do really well. The one thing I think is a problem is the seating. They have cute cafe' tables and metal chairs, this is fine for breakfast or lunch, but dinner is a bigger investment of time and requires cozy chairs. We asked if we could sit on the couch and they said yes, so it worked out fine this time. Cute logo! read more
