This used to be so much better. We've probably ordered or eaten in too many times to count. Went today for a late lunch. Got seated right away, about 10 to 12 tables had patrons. Not bad for a Wednesday at 1:30. The food is still good, but the service is HORRIBLE! Waitress came and said "order?". No introduction, no specials (clearly a board that listed some but was somewhat blocked by tables). We ordered, no recognition, no cordial response - very off putting. Did not make us feel welcome. Seemed rushed like she had some place else to be. I opted for just ice water and I ended up with and empty glass for more than half of my meal. No follow up to see how the meal is. When we were done, she came and asked "finished?" We were but once again that was it, no "anything else?". Guess she didn't realize she's in customer service and she needs to change her attitude. Flavors were super solid and surprisingly affordable. I came here for a late birthday dinner with my aunt, and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. Our favorite dish of the night was hands down the Vietnamese salad--so much flavor with a nice little kick of spice. The Indonesian shrimp was good but fairly standard. My aunt ordered the tofu and said it was just okay, nothing standout. For dessert, the red velvet cake was a solid 8/10, a nice way to end the meal. The ambience was lovely and definitely adds to the appeal, but one drawback: they really need to address the gnats. We were seated toward the back wall and noticed quite a few, which was a bit distracting. That said, I'd still recommend this spot--especially for a family dinner, birthday celebration, or a casual night out with good vibes and dependable food. It seems to me that my favorite restaurant is under new management. We have come here too many times to count and on our anniversary last night we were terribly disappointed in the quality of food. A man in a suit that I've never seen before brought us water and welcomed us. My husband ordered chicken satay, something he always orders and it was rubbery and definitely not any part of the chicken that we recognized. After taking a bite, he had to return that bite to the plate and we asked them to take it back. I ordered steamed shrimp dumplings, another usual, and I guarantee it was not shrimp. I ate a whole one first and regretted doing that immediately. I then decided to cut it to see before eating the second. The inside used to be a whole shrimp and while the dumpling itself was good, I'm not sure what was inside as it didn't taste or look like shrimp. I decided to take a picture because this was ridiculous. At that point we cancelled our order and paid for our drinks and the dumpling order since I did consume one. I'm surprised I've never been here before but we finally got to try it out for dinner last night!!! I was happy that valet parking is free here so we were able to get out for dinner inside easily. The inside was surprising to me compared to the outside. It was decorated well and gave a very classy dinner feel for us. The sushi chefs were set up behind the bar counter and we got seated in one of the tables. The food was also shareables family-size, which I didn't expect!!! We got the lo mein noodles (deliciously thick and sauced nicely) sushi and sashimi combo (so yummy), the perfect Naruto (bunch of fish bites with no rice, wrapped inside a cucumber shell sushi-style), and the grilled salmon dinner (I didn't really like the crust of the bread crumbs on it and it was dry). Ugh, I used to be a regular at Wild Ginger in Great Neck but unfortunately RVC's doesn't compare. Truthfully, I think Masago in Oceanside is better and half the price. Yes, the sushi may be slightly better quality and presented nicer, but the price for it isn't worth it. I'd rather spend half and get something comparably good. The sushi is fine, the walnut chicken and shrimp entree was a bit disappointing. Szechuan dumplings were the best dish. read more

The staff are just amazing here. They know regular patrons and it feels like eating at a friends house just with amazing food. We strictly stick to dumplings and sushi/sashimi and never have a bad meal. The duck dumplings are amazing and the crystal shrimp are a family favorite. The yellowtail and tuna are always fresh and great quality. We prefer rolls without mayo and cooked fish and honestly we never come away hungry or unhappy! It was a grave disappointment, and can't compare whatsoever to the closed Great Neck location. If you want Chinese food, go to any Chinese place...this was a tremendous let down. Came here to celebrate my nephews birthday. We ordered a bunch of dishes and shared them family style. I really enjoyed the wings! They were so crispy and juicy! The service was great. I've been to Wild Ginger a couple of times but never wrote a review. This past weekend my family and I came for a Mother's Day lunch. A reservation was put in ahead of time for 10 and it was acknowledged. Our table was ready upon arrival and we did not have to wait. Amazing! We sat down and they took our drink orders, then came with waters and took the appetizer orders. Although somewhat busy, they did not rush us to take our entree's and we were able to socialize. I had the wings, sesame chicken, and a mango martini. All were amazing. No complaints from the table on their orders as well. Definitely plan to stop by again, I have not tried their sushi and would love to. read more

Came here for dinner on a Thursday night for the first time. I did not expect such a large restaurant! Upon walking in my kids noticed the fish tank in the front .. the kids loved it. Another family walks in and the hostess seats them immediately in front of us. I called out the hostess and told him we had also been waiting. I found that to be very strange. For $10 I got 2 rolls: Salmon and avocado and California Roll. There were several options to chose from. Salad or miso soup came with it but the ginger dressing is not gluten free and the miso soup is not either. The salad had field greens with some mango strips and daikon. It doesn't taste great without dressing. I wrapped some around the rice rolls which I was able to get with brown rice. They had organic tamari which is reduced sodium and gluten free. My daughter had chicken with spicy mango sauce with extra string beans ($2). She liked the miso soup that came with it. I think the place is a little pricey (except lunch specials) but it is a nice atmosphere and clean. I trust them with keeping gf as I've never gotten sick when eating there. read more

I came here last Saturday with my friends after having ordered the Thai casserole from them on grub hub at work one day. The Thai casserole was so good so I told my girls we had to check the restaurant out. The ambiance was very nice. We were seated right away and our server Yuki was great. The food was DELICIOUS. Them Thai crab cakes, the coconut shrimp in the green curry sauce.. My God! I don't even like Asian dumplings but these Szechuan dumplings were hitting. In all the years they have been at this location they have never failed to have their kitchen chefs churn out some of the most beautiful looking and tasting food items. Whether you go big or small with your meal, you will always leave very satisfied. Best tastes from most recent engagement/anniversary dinner were: Vietnamese Spring roll & Scallion Pancakes appetizers, followed by Wok Grilled Garlic Shrimp & Beef Tenderloin main courses paired with Thai Ice Tea & Lychee Martini, finishing sweet with a uniquely tastebud satisfying Coconut Gelato Truffle. From start to finish the staff whisked us away to the back dining room cozy area, following with drinks quickly. Appetizers came out seemly just as fast and before we knew it they were looking to clear plates and bring out their beautifully plated, wonderfully aromatic smelling and tasting main course selections. All very filling and satisfying, but suggest to remember to leave room for a little dessert, as they sometimes will have a unique dessert option to surprise you, as it did for us this visit. Wild Ginger has theee best General Tso Chicken i've had in a while! Trust When I tell you it is Bomb! Tender chunks of white meat well cooked, with a slight crisp and sooo delicious. The General Tso sauce glaze was not lacking, it was definitely Mackin!! The Hot and Sour soup also hit! Perfect texture, level of spice and the tofu and bamboo shoots were abundant. If I could slam them with zero stars, I would. This place flat-out lied to my face just to dodge responsibility for a measly $23 order. They gave my UberEats pickup order to the wrong person because they couldn't be bothered to verify the order number. Then, instead of owning up to their mistake, the front desk staff shoved the problem back on me, insisting I call UberEats myself while they played dumb and blamed "the app." Absolute nonsense! Their story kept changing, first claiming someone else "had my order on their account," while the real issue was their sloppy check-out process. No apology, no attempt to make it right, just blatant lies and dishonesty. UberEats refunded me in minutes and directly told me that the restaurant was at fault. Meanwhile, the front desk staff; stone-cold, robotic, and couldn't care less. If they'll lie this hard over $23, what else are they hiding about their food? Oh, and the cocktails? Weird tasting absolute disasters. Save your money and your patience, this place is as cold and dis-honest as they come, and don't deserve a dime. read more
