I live in the Bay Area, and listen to this station regularly. If you're reading this, this post is not about their music played on the radio.
So I'm not really thrilled about writing this review, but here goes.. A couple of months ago I heard they were giving away concert tickets to One Republic & The Script. I was on my lunch break from work and decided to call in. I've never won anything before, but hey, you can't win if you don't play.
To my surprise I was caller 94. You can imagine my surprise as she said I'm the winner, I was stoked to even be on the radio period!!
The girl on the phone couldn't give me any info about the concert other than someone would be contacting me a month before the concert to discuss where to pick the tickets up etc. Extremely excited to find out where I'd be sitting I couldn't wait for the call. I was contacted by a 415# while at work about a month later and decided to answer my phone. It was 949 but again didn't have any further info for me...
As I waited patiently for my up and coming free tickets, it was now the week of the concert and I still had heard nothing. I decided to go to their website to contact them directly as I hoped it wasn't a scam. The next day a guy called, wasn't very professional might I add, but told me where I could pick up the tickets. Still no idea where I'm sitting.
Anticipation was killing me. So I continued to wait. I emailed again, this time a response from Jenna! Very nice and professional, she told me where to pick up the tickets and said I'd have to bring my ID and fill out a W9.... Looks like ILL be the one paying taxes for the free tickets but ok...I've heard this already, but kindly thanked her for the heads up. Told me I had until the day of the concert to pick the tickets up, they close at 530pm. Thursday rolls around, concert was Saturday, I decided to email Jenna and told her my friends were attending too and asked if she could tell me where I was sitting so I could tell my friends to get tickets near us.
She emailed back right away with "They are lawn seats!! Thanks!"
Great... : / I've waited this whole time for lawn seats?? If I would've known that, I would've purchased closer seats on my own. No thanks on the lawn, maybe I should be a bit more grateful, but c'mon! Radio stations usually give away better seats than 30$ lawn tickets.
So... I decided to pass on these. Fiancé surprised me with 18 rows from the stage and we had a great time. So jokes on you guys! Heads up to future callers, the people who keep you informed are unprofessional, somewhat incompetent and string you along for tickets that YOU will be paying taxes on.
I'll try to be the lucky concert winner elsewhere. Ps: they aired my excited "OMG thank you so much!" conversation for 2.2 seconds. Kinda bummed me out. read more
