Terrible service the first night of our stay at the hotel they are connected to. It was a Friday. They had a few people at the bar and 1 table. The owner manager was too busy stuffing her face to get up and wait on new customers. The 2nd night it was really slow we decided to try it for dinner. They have a pretty expensive dinner menu of which I knew my son wouldn't eat off of. We were instructed by the hotel attendant to use the tables in Wilbert's Ale house. We sat down were given water, menus and asked what we wanted to drink. Then the same owner manager lady was rude and said my son couldn't eat his small pizza with us quick. Terrible hospitality. Will not visit this establishment again. read more

The first time we went the food was spectacular, service amazing and a very ambient place to have a meal. We loved it all. The next time, we were told there was some staff changes. That's ok, it happens, we will still enjoy the date night we rarely get. We waled out not impressed, not disappointed. Just not to the standards of what we had before. The third time it was very empty and it should have told us. It was understaffed, which we told they were but we again are forgiving and just wanted a date night that wasn't a sports bar or pizza place. We were told there was a limited menu and we agreed to try it. The menu was basically a sports bar or what we could get anywhere. We both understood that things happen but it really soured is for returning. We ended up finding a new place to dine. After the third try we aren't sure we will return. The restaurant has a really cool vibe. That's it. Went here last Friday night at 6:30 with 5 adults and an 8 month old. They sit us at a high top, again, we have a baby. Ordered drinks off the menu and took 15+ mins to get all our drinks, no water though. Bartender was visibly frustrated and not really excited we ordered drinks off the menu. He brought the drinks and spilled mine on my purse. I should have taken this as a clue of how things were about to unfold. 2 other "waiters" walking around; one doing really nothing. Could he have been training? Maybe. But providing silverware, busing tables, filling sodas and waters would have been an easy task to take the weight off others. There was a woman in normal clothing just walking around, doing I have no idea what, just a warm body seemed like. We finally ordered after waiting 10+ mins longer after drinks; appetizers were cheese curds and steak bites. Main course; three pasta dishes (two with the soup and one with a salad), a burger and fries, and a reuben and fries. We wait and wait and wait patiently. My husband is ready to walk out and our baby was getting antsy as it was 7:20 at this point. We watch a table behind us walk out that showed up well after we did. Our food comes out at 8:00pm....one by one. My husband got his soup finally, as well as my sister in law. I never saw my salad. The burger comes out and the Reuben, as well as the steak tips; they finish it before the next two pasta dishes show up. Then the cheese curds. My husband never received his pasta and he told him to forget it; at this point it's just before 8pm, and the server/bartender said to my husband "not to be a smart ass, but you could apply to work here." At that point, my husband handed me his wallet and took the baby and left before he lost his cool with the staff and at this point, the baby needed to leave before she had a melt down. Not long after a group of baseball boys (who were sitting in the lobby as there was no space in the restaurant for them, but their family sat in the restaurant ) come to the bar to ask for refills, and the bartender told them to just hold on, just wait a minute (clearly very frustrated and had no time for them. One of the mothers and the families of the boys finally had enough and told them they were leaving and lost it,as they too, we're waiting a long time. It turned into a seen, rightfully so. At this point, we had also had enough of this as we had asked for the check and it hadn't come. We added up roughly how much it would cost for the food and left the cash on the table. The bartender/server caught me on the way out and wanted to give me the bill that still wasn't printed. I told him that there was plenty cash on the table for whatever it was that we had received. He then was apologizing again and again and saying things about short staffing and they were doing the best they could. As a small business owner myself, I'm embarrassed for them. You never place blame on anyone else, this is your business. This isn't your customers fault, this is your own to run your business in this manner. The point that they had someone from the kitchen just going around taking orders should have been a sign to not set anymore tables. The point when people were walking out and all I heard was apologizing to every table, should be a sign to not seat anymore tables. The comment to my husband about applying there, so unprofessional. I understand in times like now, understaffing is at a high, but know what you can handle and work with that. This was by far thee worst service we have ever had at any establishment, ever. The food, mediocre at its best. At the point we got it, no one wanted to really eat as it was just an awful experience and watching what unfolded happen, made things less appetizing and you wanted to just leave. The burger was dry, the Reuben meat was dry, the pasta was nothing I couldn't make at home out of a frozen bag. The drinks were eh, he was really struggling behind the bar. We all have off days/nights, but it was a straight up disaster. They said they'd take off the drinks, but after what happened, I'm not sure that was enough to cover the absolute mess we watched from the staff and the customers. I wish I could say we'd give it another try, but that's going to be a hard pass. I hope they find what they excel at, but the food industry is not it. This place is utterly terrible. A colleague ordered steak salad. A salad came with no steak. After asking where the steak was, minutes later, a slab of microwaved protein was presented. Other meals at the table were scarcely better. read more

I have been coming here since it opened...in fact we ate here a few times a few months ago and everything was fine...but tonight it was a train wreck . Slooow service, no actual bartender on duty, (we had to describe simple drinks like a regular martini...most ingredients were missing). All 6 random people in the restaurant waited over an hour for food...half of our food came out cold and not matching the menu description. Unfortunately we will not be back. read more

I was traveling for work and stumbled across this gem. The facility is attached to a hotel and event center a few blocks from I29. The service was wonderful. I sat at the bar to eat and my server/bartender was wonderful. The interior is very nice. The food was incredible. I had the pork chop with mashed potatoes and fresh veggies. I have to say this was in my top 5 best pork meals I've ever had. I highly recommend this place. I wish it was closer as it would become a regular spot. PS- it's very reasonably priced! read more

C-it failed my first taste test. Ruined the rib eye. Every thing tasted like dessert, too sweet. Slow service too.

Paid $85 for 2 people for dinner. The filet was completely inedible. Tasted rotten. Spent the rest of the night trying not to vomit. The wait staff was friendly but very inattentive. Didn't even get 1 drink refill. Would not eat here again, ever, even if it was a Fear Factor challenge for $5000. I literally have PTSD. read more

Waited at the entrance for 20 minutes tonight to never even be acknowledged by any employee. They have signs on the door saying that they are not fast food, so expect a wait. But from our experience and reviews the wait is ridiculous. Too bad. The menu looked really good. read more

Chapel ceilings and lots of breathing room between tables!! Decor is farmhouse / speakeasy, which I've only encountered off the beaten path in Iowa. Menu includes seafood, ethnic German, and steakhouse cuisine. Wine list runs on the sweeter side. Beer list is broad with something for everyone. Kid's menu is as expected, but with bonus ice cream and sprinkles!! read more
