Out of all our years living in Fernley, we have not been to the Wigwam. Honestly, this is about to be one of our staple restaurants. It's cheap and good. It has the perfect mix of small town diner WITH affordability. Prices aren't inflated to the moon like the surrounding restaurants. They have a bar inside too! The servers were super friendly and sparked up a conversation with everyone. It's exactly what you'd see in movies where the small town restaurant staff knows everyone. Even if they didn't, it sure as heck seemed like they did. Crepes were surprisingly good because the orange color threw me off for a moment, but omg. lol. We hadn't been here in quite a while, but we were in the area getting the car checked and decided to stop in. Breakfast was surprisingly good--especially since I'm not much of a breakfast person. I ordered the Great Beginnings, and everything was on point: good-quality bacon, eggs cooked just right, and even the hash browns (which I normally don't like) were cooked really well. I also grabbed some sweet chili wings, and they were pretty tasty too. Service ok; they were kind of busy for a small restaurant. I heard they even provided food for a couple of hours on Thanksgiving, which is an amazing gesture--especially from a small, family-owned restaurant. Really impressive! read more

Wanted a decent breakfast on my day off in Fernley, and the Wigwam was the perfect place to fill that craving. Loved the native artifact interior to compliment the cozy seating accommodations. I ordered the Farmers skillet with the eggs scrambled and hash browns, and covered in some well made country gravy. Portion was perfect for me, and the food tasted excellent. Entree came with a side of toast, and I had coffee to top it all off. The meal was perfect. Service was excellent with the two servers seating and helping people. Both ladies never stopped checking on patrons and keeping drinks filled. Very friendly and professional. The cook did amazing making the orders in a very timely manner. This was my first visit, and I have nothing but good things to say about the Wigwam. I would not hesitate to return again. read more

Service is great, please do not put items on your menu that you know will not fire up a taste bud. I took the family to Wigwam and my mom ordered huevos rancheros..big big fail! Wigwams huevos rancheros was a pile of tortilla chips, with an egg, topped with nacho cheese. I had the polite waitress take the slop back and ordered the basic breakfast. Not impressed! read more

We just bought property in the neighborhood so we've been here a few times during the shopping and purchasing process. It was recommended by the realtor and we love it! The decor is full of native artifacts and old pictures, it has an old diner vibe but it's clean and cozy. They have a salad bar and so far we've liked almost everything we've ordered. (Wasn't crazy about the nachos, cheese wiz type cheese wasn't great) the club, blt and breakfast sandwich were all great. Service is fast and very nice;) so happy to have this little gem so close to the new property:) read more

We absolutely love this place! We just moved to Fallon from Reno and our realtor recommended this place. We have been there since then about 4 or 5 times. The service is top notch, the most friendly and warm servers and the food is excellent! Tonight we had their Breakfast Buffet for dinner and it was great! I highly recommend this restaurant plus feel good about supporting the local community when locally owned. The drive from Fallon is definitely worth the drive. read more

Second time trying this place as the first time was Easter and was just a mediocre experience but the menu looked decent. I like an array of food and always looking for great wings. Got the egg breakfast with home cooked potatoes and ham. It was edible but nothing to write home about. Flavorless potatoes, eggs were okay with salt and pepper added, toast was more like bread with butter and barely toasted. Way too soft but i didn't want to have to wait for a new order. They don't have a liquor license so we had to get our mimosas at the bar. Bartender wasn't around the first few minutes and the hostess said she would let us know when she was back. That didn't happen. When i went back the second time to the bar she was there. They were 5.00 each and just okay, not in a champagne flute which was okay, but funny considering the environment felt like things are not real customer friendly and more like a half hearted attempt to keep up with other restaurants. Also being picky, i can't stand that their forks only have 3 prongs and not 4. Why? Those are seafood / dessert forks. Modern times invented 4 tines for a reason. Spearing the potatoes was fine, but had to work at scooping my food up. The worst part about the experience was the wings. They're soggy on the inside and they confirmed it's Tysons frozen chicken wings. I don't make Tysons frozen wings at home because frozen breaded chicken wings are gross, but it appears to be all we have in Fernley, aside from the Mexican restaurant in the casino that has amazing wings. It was supposed to come with fries but didn't. We got the fries to go without hassle. 11.00 for those wings was crazy. The eggs Benedict is reportedly good so that was the only plus about spending $60 on an egg breakfast, wings, and eggs Benedict. Won't be going back for a few years when they hopefully have a better understanding on quality food, and maybe a liquor license (or better drink options for casino restaurant). read more

When I first moved to Fernley this was THE best restaurant in town! But man has that changed we avoid this place like the plague it's just gone downhill. Every time we come here our food is never cooked to a good temp, usually tastes like it's been microwaved or left under the warmer because it's Luke warm. A solid 3.5 stars. The 1970's on a platter! Tasty food and what you'd expect, good, not always perfect, yet consistent; kind of like home. Super vintage. Sort of like a time warp. Service is acceptable and distant. Kamrin is the best server they have ever had IMO. He should work full time. I never tip over 20%, but he earned it without even trying. So laid-back, yet friendly, clear, very efficient, fast, and adept. He can work in fine dining. I wish him great success. Fried mushrooms are yum, but mostly still frozen in the middle. Fried chicken breast/Chicken fried chicken (add gravy), is great and like Disneyland. Nice breakfasts, club sammies, hashbrowns, and crisp fries. The ranch and gravy are very good and done right. Coke is bubbly! It is a tried-and-true iconic small-town gem that appears so underwhelming, you'd just pass by. Worth venturing to over and over with low expectations. This used to be a great place to eat 25 years ago but is in decline they took out the nice section of the restaurant that used to be a museum and put a bunch of slot machines and blacked out the windows and they're calling it a casino I ordered the country fried steak the hash browns were cold and under cooked the eggs were runny the service was okay and to top it all off there was a big black pubic hair under the steak and the price for the meal was way to much I will not be dining there ever again! read more

So after reading the reviews we decided to eat breakfast there anyway. We're new to the area and we wanted to try something new. I ordered the Go Slow??? w French toast, eggs, and 2 slices of bacon. I can't remember the name of my husband's breakfast, but it consisted of 3 large pancakes, eggs, and, good-sized sausage. Our food came out hot and delicious. The prices cannot be beat. Our server was friendly and courteous. Service was also fast and efficient (we got our food within 15 minutes of ordering). The ambiance was warm and cozy. You can tell who the locals are, so that should say something about the quality of the food. We will certainly come again. read more

I eat here regularly. The food is delicious.... The weight staff is friendly. There is no website to show the menu options online it is standard American breakfast lunch and dinner for the most part . The food is delicious, and the portions are pretty large. There is plenty of booth style seating. There are Native American dolls, beading work and old pictures behind glass on display. The restaurant is pretty outdated as far as flooring, seating , and music playing. I will continue eating there as I really like it. read more

This was our first time to this restaurant/casino. We were was taking our daughter and her family to lunch. We have driven past here many times on our way to her house in Fernley. There is a large seating area in the restaurant, but not too many people were there when we were arrived. However, it was pretty late for lunch, and too early for dinner. There is a salad bar with plenty of items to choose from including soup. The salad bar itself can be added to your food order for $2.95. This does not include soup, though according to the waitress when I asked her. (May want to specify that in the menu) My grandson Landon had the chicken strips. There were 2 nice size pieces and fries. Ashley my daughter and I had the patty melt with fries. It was very good with 2 -1/4 lb burgers on it. I only have one complaint about it. I like tomatoes on mine and order them on it everytime. When my sandwich arrived I checked to make sure they remembered the tomatoes. I pulled apart what looked to be onions, and my wife Michelle asked what I was looking for. I then proceeded to pull out the thinnest slice of tomato I have ever seen. It was so thin you could see through it. Now while I understand charging me for any extras I request, there should be some shame in charging .75 cents for what you served me. That's one expensive tomato. I love the taste of tomato on my sandwich, and I could not tell it was even there. My wife Michelle had a chicken ranch wrap, and was disappointed as she prefers her grilled chicken to be just that grilled and warm. She prefers warm chicken on the wraps like most of the restaurants she has ordered it at. Maybe they could state that its ice cold somewhere on the menu. I went in there for the first time after living in Fernley for three years. It wasn't busy at the time that I went in to the restaurant. My granddaughter always orders a boring burger from wherever we go. That means no cheese no nothing on it. I ordered a basic egg and hash brown breakfast and I ordered an English muffin on the side. My granddaughter got her burger it had cheese on it how do you send it back. My breakfast never came with my English muffin. We waited forever to get our refills of our water. The waitress walked by us so many times and just didn't even acknowledge us. Then she was giving out the receipts with nowhere to sign it when you used your card. She just didn't seem all there at all. The food wasn't very good I will not return. read more

my honey and i go there all the time. the service is excellent. everybody is very nice and the food is really good. it's also at a good price. you always get big portions, the food is hot and they really care about their customers. will go back again (i even won a first time jackpot in their casino, not a lot. but the most i ever won with my own money). if you're looking for fancy fine dining, this is not your restaurant. it's very down home, what my grammy would call a greasy spoon (which was always a total compliment from her). a lot of seniors eat there and that's a good sign also. love it!!! read more

Husband and I came in for breakfast. The french toast was not fully cooked, still soggy in the middle with raw egg batter. The Western Bacon burger was ordered medium rare, however, it was a well done burger that was received. The french fries were good, but unless you drop them in the fryer and forget about them, it's hard to mess up French fries that come pre-cooked that just need to be thrown in oil to heat up. And we waited for over 15 minutes for our waitress to bring us our check with our dirty plates sitting at the edge of the table to signal that we were ready for our check. Overall the staff was unfriendly, uncaring and should probably learn how to interact with their guests to ensure a pleasant experience that will have them returning. I am giving this place a no stars review. The service and food was the worst I have ever seen or had. This place and it's staff have absolutely no pride in its food or level of service. The food was so disgusting and the staff was very disappointing. The condiments were literally watered down. They couldn't even get ice tea right. During our recent heat wave I stopped in for an Iced tea. I told the waitress I'm just borrowing your AC. She brought me a pitcher of Iced tea and a plate full of lemon wedges. I ended up ordering fish & chips and...... Oooh yea it was excellent. The tartar sauce was home made, the fish & fries were cooked & spiced to perfection. Service was awesome. Stopped here today with a friend on a recommendation from a local. He said to stick with breakfast, so that is exactly what we did. I got the "Little Bird" which was two eggs any way, hash browns, and your choice of English muffin, toast or biscuit. I also split an order of fried mushrooms. My dish was fantastic, cooked perfectly and just right with my side of fried mushrooms, which were crisp and not soggy. Given today's political clime and awareness in general, I found the theme of "Indian" to be a bit distasteful. One of the items on the menu was named "Heap Big", if you like your breakfast served with subtle racism. The restaurant also advertised an "Indian Museum" out front which I was told by a waitress hadn't been in operation for several years. Instead there were some shadow-box type displays and some framed photos showing different (I assume local tribes) artifacts and local scenery and attractions. Service was prompt and professional, but not friendly. They also had a few t-shirts available for purchase as well as some mugs near the cash register. The pie selection also looked decent and currently heavily leaning towards cream pies. read more
