This is a very old school location. No drive-thru here. We originally thought it was closer to 101, but it turns out that it is in an older part of town and not adjacent to the freeway at all. Still, I was craving a hot dog for some odd reason, and so we drove a few extra minutes to get to Wienerschnitzel. We parked out back and headed for the front / only entrance to order. I felt like I was in a time warp from the 1960's with the architecture and styling of the place. The cashier who helped us was very friendly and added a positive note when I was feeling second thoughts about my restaurant choice. Dear Hubby stayed inside to pay and wait for our order. I went outside to the patio tables to hold a spot. It took a while for the food to be prepared. Once it was time to dig in, I was grateful that they offer the option of an all-beef dog. Their Chicago-style toppings work for me - pickle relish, onions, fresh tomatoes, and mustard. I'd prefer brown mustard to yellow, but that's the only thing I'd change. Well, a bigger hot dog would be nice. Take a Costco-sized dog, and add those condiments and I'd really be a happy camper. I was still hungry after finishing the one dog I'd ordered. I mistakenly tried the watermelon lemonade. That wasn't great; the watermelon flavor tasted like lab-created chemicals, which it probably was. I'd not order that again. If you want a retro experience, give this Wienerschnitzel a visit. read more

This location in Santa Maria is the closest to where we are located. my boyfriend LOVES this place and we don't go very often having to drive 40 minutes just to get here... so to drive all that way just to have the girl at the register constantly laughing and judging everything my boyfriend was ordering was 1 extremely rude and 2 very unprofessional. yes he orders a lot but it's his choice and also he orders enough for the next day since he can't just go here whenever he wants... you made us feel so insecure that I didn't even get to order my food because of the way you were acting!! maybe you shouldn't work in a fast food industry.... read more

I hadn't been here in decades, maybe 20 or 30 years? This has been here forever, I remember as a little kid this was an empty lot and it was my favorite grassy area with grass as long as 4 feet, I was so sad they took it away. But it was a cool looking place when they built it, but I really didn't like their hot dogs especially their chili dogs. I finally wanted to bring back nostalgia, and started at Google play, but they don't have an app, so I went online to their website https://order.wienerschnitzel.com/login Created an account and ordered, pretty simple, I walked in, everything looked the same, outside building never changed and inside the same except for the plastic barriers, I didn't know what to expect, I was the only one there, the Associates were making orders and welcomed me and said they would be with me in a second. Then a physically challenged person came in with the manager shouting what he can get for $5 and it sounded like the manager said take care of him. So I patiently let the guy go do his thing, then the associate asked what I would like. I said I placed an online order, she looked surprised and asked my name, she handed me the bag, thanked me and I was gone. Well, the corn dog was okay, the chili dog, meh, and the Chicago dog, another meh. These were the regular classic hot dog. I think I will try again but order the all beef. Again, I wanted to taste the nostalgic part of the dog, I guess that's why I don't come here often and hoping next time the beef will change my taste, oh, it is about a dollar extra for the beef uprade. Just order 5 chili dogs and 2 medium fries. I love this place but this time it was the worst how can my chili dogs be cold and my fries were so cold I couldn't eat them it was just a waste of money. Today we had a craving for hot dogs so we came to Weinershinzel. The building is small inside a little warm too but that's ok. They have two counters you can use to eat at insdie or outside they have tables. The staff there is very nice, friendly and helpful if you have questions about ordering. The service was quick. I ordered a hot dog with sourkrout and mustard and my favorite hot dog with mustard, relish and onions they were so yummy. My husband ordered a dog with wrapped in bacon he liked his. They also offer burgers. It was a nice day so we ate outside. We'll return soon to try the burgers. read more

It felt like like chili cheese fries kind of day, so the six of us stopped in. The customer service here is ALWAYS such a nice surprise. Everyone is all smiles and just so kind! The staff is really a pleasure to talk to and they are so sweet to chat with kids when they're here. The weather never seems to cooperate for outdoor seating when we are here, so the lack of warm sitting space for a group is truly the only negative about this fast food joint. That being said, my kids think it is so fun to eat in the car so it isn't a problem we can't tackle. Ha! Definitely a go to when you're in the mood to indulge in all things chili cheese! read more

I only come for their dipped cones occasionally will buy a corn dog. The cones are good and the price is not bad. The other day I got some fries but they tasted old, like the oil was old just a weird flavor and not even seasoned with salt. I only realized not too long ago how privileged us folks in Santa Maria are to have one of these, as they are even more rare than an In-N-Out with a scarce amount of these through most of California, and about a handful through the rest of the U.S. The food quality I would put above an average fast food place, sort of like an In-N-Out. The price is very right for quality and taste, with this one accompanying a Tastee Freez with some pretty decent Ice Cream when the time are warm. Any kind of dog you get will most likely be good, but I always go with an order of the chili cheese fries, you can't go wrong with them!
