We ordered a Junkyard Dog, a Chicago Dog, some jalapeño poppers, and a Tasty Freeze dipped cone. The Junkyard Dog was okay, but the fries on it were a bit soggy, so I probably wouldn't order it again. Otherwise, no complaints about the food. Loved it! Hadn't seen a wiener schnitzel in Houston and I couldn't wait to have it. It had been years ! Last time in cali of course. Price did go up a bit but totally worth it! Had a chili cheese dog and chili cheese fries and they were delicious!! Definitely coming back !! Can't wait to try the family bundles with the family and chili cheese tater tots. I don't love fast food, but, if you get fresh fries from here, they are awesome. The Jalapeño poppers I had were terrific as well. They were hot and fresh. I had an all beef Chicago dog. It tasted pretty good, however, the texture was a little rubbery. It's so hard to do fresh hotdogs in fast food. I will say again, it tasted fine. I got an unsweetened tea and it was really good . I've never been and came from Kingwood to try them out. Everything was really cheap and bland. I was expecting a little bit more quality from a chain restaurant. The hotdog I had was good but I was just a little disappointed overall. Compared to someone who had Coney Island growing up, they can definitely learn a thing or two. Where to begin? Growing up in SoCal there are a number of Fast Food Chains, and a few one-shots, that are close to a religion for natives. Der Wienerschnitzel is one of them. I fled the state for Houston in 2012 so, after 7 yrs...when I learned there was one just recently opened in New Caney.... One problem...It was in New Caney...and I don't drive...and Houston Metro only has a Park & Ride route to Kingwood. I ride a bike, though! And it is only 11 1/2 miles from the lot to get my fix! So, yesterday morning, bright and early, from SW Houston, I headed downtown to catch the bus to the boonies. Pedaling along 2 lane roads out into Rural Porter and New Caney, I finally got there. To say I was excited at the sight of the place and the menu would be an understatement, hee, hee! Not the familiar shack with a walk-up window and outdoor only seating, but I was not complaining! Plenty of seating inside, a friendly staff, and clean restrooms. Oh, and that menu! All the favorites I remember...slathered in Chili almost as good as that found at Original Tommy's (Another one of those Religious Experiences I mentioned earlier)...and, lest I forget, my favorite....the Polish Sandwich! $15 later I camped out at a table, one happy camper! The food was all as good as I remember from the Chili Dog & Chili Burger, the Corn Dog, and Polish Sandwich, even the Chili Fries, and I told the staff so. Word is that more outposts will eventually open in the Houston Area...hopefully closer to where I live...time will tell. read more

Finally!!! My prayers have been answered. Have been missing this place since the move to Texas. I don't mind the drive and when I got there the franchise owner said they will be opening more in the coming years!!! I got the usual, chili cheese fries, two corn dogs and a chili cheese dog. Make sure you check your receipt when you don't order one of their over priced sugar laden drinks. I asked for a paper cup to get water and was charged 75 cents. I was not told that when I ordered and only noticed when I happen to glance at my receipt at the table. I under stand profit margins, but I though their main commodity was hot dogs, not paper cups. I stopped by new Caney location to try a banana split today , I ordered it with no peanuts and no pineapple, when I arrive to the window a young gentleman with glasses greets me and I pay for my order. As I'm wait in my car , I look over and I see the gentleman and a female worker laughing and smiling while making my banana split , he noticed me looking and moved to where I couldn't see him making my order anymore , I thought it was a bit weird . When he gives my order , I drive off and park in front of their door just to make sure my order was right , and of course it's NOT !!! That is why they were laughing they put pineapple and threw strawberry on top of it thinking I wouldn't notice ! I got off went inside and as soon as they saw me the look on their face gave it away , the female with an attitude ask do you want me too remake it ! I'm beyond pissed off at the lack of their service at this location and too top it off the supervisor in charge didn't know how to work the register to give me my refund !
